Cheshire West and Chester Council Avaliações 

We have a council owned leylandii hedge outside our house which shades sunlight from our house during the winter months .we’ve been in contact with the temporary tree officer and have received an email saying he’s looked on Google earth and your house isn’t shaded by the trees .please Google earth ,the image on Google earth is taken in the summer so the sun will be higher basic stuff really I detest incompetent people.I’ve been out this morning with my drone and I’ve taken images which clearly shows the shading which not only covers our house but 8 others too .am I really paying for this abysmal service but then again it is government run.

Chester used to be a beautiful city, over the past 5 years or so it has been neglected. Nowadays its just full of repetitive restaurants, universities and sewers. Chester absolutely stinks already especially down sealand road and now they are building more by where the fair appears. This will probably kill the fair aswel but this seems to be the normal standard for the council. Destroy everything nice about Chester.

I've lived in Frodsham for a few years and have never seen it looking so unkempt and untidy. I go for long walks on a daily basis, originally started during beginning of the pandemic. There are weeds everywhere, footpaths are often impassable due to the level of overgrowth either side and the council tell us this is due to a shortage of workers during the pandemic. That was the excuse a year ago - what's happened since then?! It's now worse than ever and I doubt that even a council would take over 12 months to get it's house in order and clear the backlog. Yet we're still being fleeced £250/month for council tax!

Update - they're now charging £40/year for garden waste collection! What a joke. My garden waste will be deposited elsewhere!

What is going on with weeds growing all over the highways in Ellesmere Port and surrounding areas ? It is an absolute disgrace. It's obvious they haven't been treated. Local councillors must be going around with their eyes shut.

I see all the negativity about CWAC and totally agree that they are destroying Chester through a distinct lack of effective management. Who are CWAC accountable to? The wall are an absolute disgrace. Weeds growing everywhere. I thought that they are legally responsible to maintain a listed monument. Same old excuses as the city goes from bad to worse. The only effective thing they seem to do come rain or shine is deploy their 'cash cow' traffic wardens! The way to try and resolve this is VOTE THEM OUT!!!!

Specifically council tax dept - these people are absolutely disgusting people, they have no compassion, do not understand the word dignity, and need lessons on respect ! Never have I dealt with such horrible people. Bullied in school, I reckon.

The website is a nightmare, and miserable, no single time the login has worked! every time I have to reset the password, although I'm using LastPass to store my password, and no way to have a wrong password.
Recently the reset password functionality does not work, and I'm not able to access my account anymore!
It is the worst website I ever had to deal with in my life!

Just received CW&C Council Tax bill for 2021.

Knowing we have been in a pandemic lockdown for much of the last year and that many of us have been in furlough, lost jobs etc. Subsequently struggling to make ends meet.

In February, Cheshire West and Chester Council announced that they had agreed to increase tax by 4.99% for 2021-22. This is the maximum allowed by central government, and was made up of a 1.99% council tax rise, and an additional 3% adult social care precept. Why then is the increase 5.2%? (2.2% council tax plus 3% for adult social care). Does anyone else feel this is unacceptable and what can be done to object to this?

On the 15th of January I reported to CWaC Highway's Dept a blocked grid/drain at the top our lane and was informed that I would be contacted in 5 day's. When it rains the water that should be going down the grid overflows due to the blockage and turns our lane into a stream. When it freezes it turns this water into black ice making the lane lethal to walk or drive on. Since then I have chased up their customer services by phone and email but as of yet 3 weeks later, no-one has had the common courtesy to contact me with a view to resolving the issue by unblocking the drain. Their lack of contact has unfortunately led me to get my local councillor involved to see if he can do anything. The Highway's Dept need to be trained in all aspect of customer care, as at the moment, it is non existent.

Where is the minus star option, this council is a joke. From planning to waste collection, and these bus lanes what a mess

One star is too many for this bunch of clowns. At a time when retail is struggling this council decides to misappropriate government money, designed for active travel, to implement bus lanes, at a time when public transport is being discouraged. The ensuing traffic chaos has rendered the city centre inaccessible. We now await the ‘go clockwise’ scheme, the final nail in the city centre coffin!

the council claims to be a listening council but totally ignore the quality of life for local residents, put up every obstacle they can in support of local businesses and totally ignore genuine safety concerns (c.f. misuse of government funds re active transport lanes, diverting traffic across pedestrian areas by the cross using a few plastic cones and no signage showing that traffic is using it). They have a view of where they want the city to go, totally at odds with the people that live here in our beautiful city and are not prepared to consider any opinions other than those that agree with them.

This cabinet led by Louise Gittins will destroy Chester. They listen to no one. They used government funds for active travel lanes ( no motorised vehicles) and put in bus lanes!! Causing huge traffic jams pollution unsafe lanes for cyclists emergency vehicles trapped in traffic and its going to get much much worse with the one way system.

Trying to get into and around Chester is a nightmare with the new bus lanes, they are not wide enough for busses they have to encroach onto the so called cycle lanes, give Chester a wide berth
