Fantastic first aid course!
Fantastic first aid course from start to finish. Chris was great with some questions I had before booking. The course was detailed but fun also and great handouts too! Will definitely use again and would recommend to anyone.

Hi Michael.
Thanks you for your kind review.
Take care.

Book. You won’t be disappointed!
One of the most enjoyable & informative training courses I have been on in over 20 years. I came away with not only the information that was necessary to pass the course but with the impression we had gained extra knowledge through the personal experiences that Chris brought to the course.
The course was run in a way that was professional and concise but that also put you at ease with the subject matter.
I would thoroughly recommend Chris Garland Training to any individual or company.

Very nice training course with a lot of hands-on practices, including making bandages, using stretches, artificial breathing and using AED. The course I attended was designated for outdoor emergencies but a lot of daily emergencies, like hart attack, were also taught. There are also many useful explanations on legal issues.

Great Emergency First Aid Course
Recently undertook a 1 day emergency first aid course with Chris at Chris Garland Training as found cost was more reasonable than some of the bigger providers.
Training was first class, Chris was really interesting and keeps you engaged throughout the course (he has a raft of stories/pictures) and I came away from the course feeling massively more confident than after previous EFA courses I have been on with other training companies in the past.
Would 100% recommend Chris if you need any first aid training.

Hello John. Thank you or your kind review.

Bad experience and wasted money
Not like any first aid course we have ever been on? This man failed my husband after grilling him in an oral exam as if we were in an actual paramedics exam the questions were so advanced? Think this guy really has a problem . He was very cruel in his approach to testing and we found out that he failed a young girl twice? I passed thank God because I need it for my job but I do not recommend this company and will definitely be using someone else next time. I feel I've wasted a lot of money and had an uncomfortable experience for both myself and my husband in particular. We have never had to do and exam for first aid courses in the past? So not sure what this guy gets from humiliating people ?

Thank you Gill for taking the time to write a review. I must say that I'm suprised at your review, when the feedback that you gave at the end of the course was so positive. On your feedback sheet, completed after both the written and practical assessments, you wrote that the instructors support and guidance was "very good", adding that you though that both the pace of training & whether there was adequate practice time were both "very good". You felt that the course and its delivery were "just right" and that you'd describe the course to a friend or colleague as "very good". Your husband thought that the support and guidance was "very good" and that he'd describe the course to a friend or colleague as "excellent". I am therefore, surprised to say the least, that two months later your view has seemingly changed to the polar opposite.
With regards to the assessment of all candidates on the course, I am bound by the requirements of the Ofqual regulated Awarding Organisation, who stipulate that certain elements of the course are assessed by multiple-choice question paper, with practical elements being assessed by practical assessment. My website clearly indicates how the assessment process is undertaken for each course, and how the assessment process would be undertaken was again highlighted at the start of each day of the course. All Ofqual accredited qualifications are assessed in the same manner and there is an industry-wide drive to raise standards across all Ofqual accredited qualifications. I can therefore only assume that you have previously undertaken non-Ofqual accredited courses in the past that have not included exams.
I take no pleasure in having candidates who fail to reach the necessary pass marks and who therefore do not attain the qualification. I have to maintain the standards required of me by the Awarding Organisation and I will continue to do this. After all, I owe a duty of care to both the course candidates, their employers who will be relying on them to take on the role of, in this instance, paediatric first aider and to those children to whom they will be administering first aid.
