Everything was fine, BUT the smell from the toilet was honestly unbearable. 🤢 I’m really not exaggerating, it was absolutely disgusting and clearly bothering other passengers too. I ended up puttin... Ver mais

Super flexible. Super nice and always on time truly. Lians is one of the workers and I met him at the Galway Coach Station and he went the extra mile. Highly recommend the company and its workers.

Website is unusable- constantly…
City Link Website is terrible slow ****- constantly glitches and takes forever to load, or just freezes forcing you to start the tedious booking process all over again.
5 ***** for the driver on 7.55 am…
5 ***** for the driver on 7.55 am Castlebar to Dublin Airport bus on Saturday 05/04/25. The most pleasant, patient and extremely helpful man. Was very kind and respectful to all passengers and particularly helpful to those with limited mobility. A pleasure to travel with him.
Terrible communication, unreliable outlets, runs late
Citylink services are reliable up to a point.
For about a year now I have been regularly using the Galway-Dublin service back and forth multiple times a month in different times of the day.
Here is what I find:
- Bus leaves Galway on time but is consistently 15 minutes late, or more, to final destination in Bachelor's Walk. First time I booked it I arrived late at a job and nearly lost a very important client, but now I know to consider this ~15min standard deviation.
- Power outlets are advertised and I (as well as many other passengers that I've met) count on them for work in transit. However, they only work about 50% of the times. The other 50% they are either non existent or just dead. Drivers can be less than courteous when asked about it so tread carefully. The way I see it, we are paying for a service that may or may not be delivered with no explanation or compensation. Bottom line is: do not rely on Citylink and bring your own power bank if you absolutely need to charge a device.
- There is a chance that the bus you have booked will not finish or even start the journey: I have been reallocated to other buses that would alledgedly arrive earlier than the one I had booked, which turned out not to be true. I have also had to hop down from a bus mid-journey and board another one for reasona that seldom get properly communicated. On top of the discomfort of hopping off a bus in the middle of the road and then re-boarding another one that is already full of passengers, this comes with added delays. Once again, if your travel is time-sensitive do not rely on their arrival estimates and take into account a possible 15-30min delay.
- While most of the time the digital timetables in the bus stations are correct, it pays to verbally double check with the driver that the bus you have climbed on is actually heading towards your destination. I have once boarded a bus that had no front sign saying its destination, but which seemed correct judging by the time and the digital timetable on the bus station in Crampton Quay, Dublin. I was headed for Galway and the bus driver did check my ticket and gave me the green light to board the bus - 3 hours later I discovered that bus was headed for Tuam. I was not the only passenger that night that got fooled by the company's precarious communication - and thankfully so because it was past midnight and we had to walk through Tuam by ourselves looking for a taxi that would eventually bring us to Galway and charge us a small fortune for it, which should have left Citylink's bank account and not ours. Upon contacting customer support about it, the case was shrugged off as our own fault for boarding the wrong bus - I am left wondering what is the point of a digital timetable and the bus driver checking our tickets upon boarding the vehicle, and why on Earth did Citylink not bother to display the bus' destination on the front letterings.
- Prices are rather abusive, but I suppose that's what you get when there's so little (if any) competition for the same product in the market.
Over all, the service is passable and better than nothing but hard to trust without having contingencies in place at all times. I advise to cover yourself, prefer to arrive early than on time, and if any problems should arise from the travel my experience tells me that reaching out to them will only bring about further frustration and a certain degree of disrespect.

I'm just off the bus in Cork City after travelling from Galway. Our driver Brendan was so courteous and kind. I really appreciate the great service provided by Citilink :)
Customer service
I am writing an e-mail asking about their company, about their vouchers that do not work on their websites, and I cannot get an answer, they do not reply,
Citylink I wanna thank you for having…
Citylink I wanna thank you for having the best employees especially drawing attention to the man called Paul in Galway who drove me on the 5th of march at17:30 after I misssed my stop with 7 miles and he took his time to make sure I am safe which is why I say Paul represented a good employee for the city link because not so many employee’s will be willing to drive 7 miles to get you safe at home especially because of the job that Paul is doing. I don’t know if I am grateful or luck but I would have took my last cent to appreciate. Paul you deserve this I give you 6 star cause you one in a million
Absolutely horrible experience
Absolutely horrible experience. If I could give no stars I would. I was getting bus route 763 from Athlone to Dublin airport for an important flight. Bus was 45 minutes late which is absolutely unacceptable. I had to avail of another mode of last minute transport in order to not miss my flight which put myself and others at a major inconvenience. Ok I would accept a 5-10 minute delay but 45 minutes is completely unacceptable. Upon arrival driver was also snarky and rude and extremely unhelpful. Upon contacting customer service they said traffic was the excuse which is not a valid excuse as traffic is always a problem and service should have taken this factor into account.
Five star service from a regular user.
As a frequent traveller on this service, I am so grateful for their frequent express service between Galway and Dublin. Their drivers will always do their best to accommodate you if you have missed an earlier booked bus or wish to grab an earlier one home. Their flexibility is wonderful. Five stars well deserved!
reported their bus 162G158 761 bus and…
reported their bus 162G158 761 bus and its completely incompetent driver for speeding and refusing to let traffic merge from a slip road on to the m6 this morning. absolutely disgraceful
Worst experience
Worst experience. I took my bus from limerick to Dublin airport. Unfortunately forgot one of my luggage’s inside the bus and I only realised it after the bus had left. I asked the next driver if he can contact the driver and if any efforts can be made to get my luggage back. He didn't make any efforts but asked me to collect the luggage from galway customer care I am pretty sure the luggage didnt reach galway customer care yet. My flight was due in few hours. They should atleast have a customer care / baggage collection in/ near dublin airport as it is the popular drop off destination not miles away in Galway. What if someone misplaced/ forgot their passport in the bus and wanted to get it back, ‘ohh you can drive to Galway and pick it up’ How dumber these people can be.
Very helpful today
Very helpful today. Was friendly and informative. Thank you.
I'm quite disappointed with the lack of flexability
I'm quite disappointed with the lack of flexibility regarding cancellations and amendments with this particular transport option. Despite reaching out to customer service, I've been unable to make the necessary changes to my booking. This is particularly frustrating, as unforeseen circumstances can arise, and having the ability to adjust travel plans is crucial. I hope to see more accommodating policies in the future."
Uncomfortable seats
Limerick to Dub airport.
UNCOMFORTABLE SEATS
The seats curve in crazy unnatural way, and the head rest rushes your neck/ head out.
Can't even sit up straight.
Be aware you should bring something to stuff behind ur back (assuming you are not above 5ft 6"). Or grab a seat in front of loo so u can tilt ur seat back without guilt.
Bus was on time though. Yey.
I would give 0 stars if I could
I would give 0 stars if I could. A negative rating even. The 6pm scheduled journey from Limerick to Cork does not come until nearly 7pm. A disgrace is an understatement. The time on the website is completely misleading & false. I get this bus twice a week for the last 6 months & once ever it came at 5:58pm and another time 6.02pm . Apart from these times it is 6.30pm average and 6.50pm the last 2 trips which is not uncommon.
Just a disgrace and false, misleading timetable.
The driver who chose to ignore
I am a regular Citilink customer, frequently traveling from Dublin to Cork once a month. Today, I had the unfortunate experience of sharing the bus with a large group of Italian teenagers who spent the entire journey shouting, throwing objects from one seat to another, and playing with their phone flashlights. This was a night trip, departing Dublin at 6:30 PM and arriving in Cork at 9:30 PM. For three hours, I endured constant yelling right next to me, and even with headphones on, it was impossible to drown out the noise.
I kindly asked them to stop twice, but they ignored my requests. Eventually, I went to the driver to explain the situation, hoping he could help. Unfortunately, he dismissed my concerns completely. I believe it was because those teenagers weren’t sitting right behind him, screaming in his ear after what was likely a long day at work. If they had been, I imagine he might have acted differently.
When I approached the driver—a short man in his fifties, with blue eyes, blonde hair, and a noticeable struggle with English—I wasn’t asking him to stop the bus. I simply requested that he make an announcement over the microphone to address the issue. As a regular customer, I am familiar with Citilink’s policies, and I strongly believe he could have taken some steps to resolve the situation. Instead, he chose to ignore me both times I approached him.
I’ve always recommended Citilink to friends because I’ve considered it the best company for Dublin-Cork trips. However, after this experience, I’m not so sure. Other companies offer trips at different times, and as someone who travels this route monthly, I do have other options. I felt profoundly ignored by the driver, as though my concerns were irrelevant and I was powerless to resolve the situation.
Got on the wrong bus and ended up in…
Got on the wrong bus and ended up in Galway instead of Cork😔 But i had an amazing bus driver, Brendan Horan, that REALLY helped me out. He sorted out another bus the next morning to Cork. Honestly don’t know what i would’ve done without him, i was too stressed to think clearly!
Worst experience
I cannot understand how it can be so cold outside and the aircon in the bus is 5 times colder than outside. Everytime I ride from dublin airport to galway city, its 3 full hours of winter inside the bus. I wish there was an alternative travel to galway. It's so different in the uk, the buses are so warm and cozy in the winter, makes you don't want to get off.
Bus experience
On a recent trip to NY I travelled to Dublin airport by bus from Limerick, I left my phone on the citylink bus and only realised when I was checking in . Completely panicked I went to a city link bus outside the airport and with his help he pointed me in the direction of the bus which at this time was parked 15mins away from the airport, When I eventually found the bus 😂 it was closed with no driver on board. Fortunately I came across another Driver Des who opened the bus got my phone and also gave me a lift back to the airport, He was honestly such a gentleman and I’ll be forever grateful to him that I didn’t miss my flight so thank you so much Des .
The coach was very warm
The coach was very warm, impossible to relax and sleep.never again. Wi-Fi drops every time
