Good experience as a tenant.

As a tenant, I had a decent room. Prompt reply to queries and fixes when needed. My property manager was Louise, who was very supportive and responsive.
Promptly processed full deposit return after moving out.
Only feedback is could get landlords to provide more basic facilities in the room like bins, toilet brush and cutlery in kitchen for shared house but I don't think this is on Cloud. Overall very satisfied with the service.

Worst Letting Experience

As an international student, I relied on the photos and online viewing provided, where the property was presented as high-spec. What I moved into was completely different and in a very poor condition.

From the start, the property had ongoing and unacceptable issues:

- Heating not working for a long period
- No hot water completely at the start, then at times.
- Broken toilet and repeated plumbing failures
- Kitchen flooding on multiple occasions
- No basic setup such as a proper place to eat
- Poor cleanliness and lack of upkeep throughout

These are not minor problems they made the property difficult to live in on a daily basis. Despite repeated issues, response times were slow and problems often took far too long to be resolved.

On top of this, there was a lack of transparency around tenancy terms. The automatic renewal into another fixed period was not clearly communicated, which caused significant financial pressure and made it difficult to leave when planned.

This experience has been extremely stressful, especially during an important academic period. It is not what was advertised, and not what a tenant should reasonably expect.

If you are considering renting through this agency, don’t do it.

I am currently exploring raising these concerns with the local council.

I would not recommend this agency based on my experience.

Great management

My experience has been great with cloud homes. Louise who manages the property I am in has been great, always fast to respond and providing solutions for any issues!

A Renters Hell Cloud homes

I have been renting for a few years now and what you think would be standard professional practice does not apply to this company.
The phones lines are barely picked up and information is not consistently communicated with all team such as when deposits are returned as I was told by the end of the week and over the phone was then told two weeks.

The representative I spoke with was incredibly unprofessional and dismissive after I had said I wasn’t interested with the room due to how unclean the property was and sent over photos of the front porch littered with rubbish and all sorts.
Following this I made a complaint about this and the customer service team informed her which prompted her to confront me about my experience with her which is insane.

The worst part about this whole situation was the holding deposit I paid to secure took far too long to be returned. I had asked for a simple email confirmation of this but the representative I was in contact with did not provide one and the team I spoke with over email could not get a response from whoever was managing the finances. I spent over two weeks trying to get some form confirmation for the holding deposit until they randomly sent it back with no confirmation email. Be very wary as they don’t use a deposit protection scheme.

If you want to have a stressful life, pursue buying this.

I am a landlord in one flat in Haria House in Bradford and its been one year now and hasn't earn anything from the flat that I purchased. All of their expenses liquidated to £0. Plus, I am paying a ground rent which is more than £500 GBP annually.
I am regretting why did I make this investment, very bad choice.

We did not sell you this investment. We purely run your block and lettings. As communicated to all leaseholders, many times, the Bradford market is extremely challenging but please do not blame us for your poor invetsmnet choice, this is not of our doing.

Excellent

I lived in this property for almost three years and I am very satisfied with the experience overall. Louise, who manages the property, was always responsive to any questions or concerns and acted quickly whenever something was needed, which I really appreciated. In general, the flatmates I lived with were good and the atmosphere in the house was pleasant. Overall, I am very happy with the service and my time there.

Everything went wrong from the…

Everything went wrong from the beginning. I had to move out of the accommodation in the end. It was depressing. A few of the staff were nice but the others acted like they were not human at all. I am still waiting for my deposit to be paid back to me. From the other reviews, it looks like this is a common problem with this company.

The place has been lovely and truly felt like home. It was the perfect spot to settle in after relocating to the UK — calm, comfortable, and welcoming. The agents have also been great — always attentive and quick to help whenever needed. Really grateful for the experience!

Very good service, fairly priced room

I used Cloud Homes in the Wiltshire area to rent a room for ~9 months. During this time I was mostly dealing with Louise Caira who has been very helpful. While issues with the property arose somewhat frequently, Louise was always communicative and efficient in getting them dealt with. My tenancy was administratively smooth from start to finish dealing with her even with me being a little difficult.

Currently in tenancy with Cloud Homes…

Currently in tenancy with Cloud Homes and Louise Caira has been the most incredible agent. Immediate responses to any issues or queries that have cropped up. Huge care taken in a very speedy move in process. Easy to contact and the room is lovely. The rent I pay is fair and competitive with the market. House has all amenities that are perfectly maintained. Super cleaning team that come in on Mondays. Have had a very easy year renting in a lovely clean home with Louise and Cloud Homes!

Been here for a couple years now and really enjoyed my experience here, moving in was pretty easy going, my room is nice and spacious. Never had any issues in the building. There was a brief chaotic period where a there was a manger change but it was very well handled by the new assistant manger Sonia. The place had a nice turn over when she joined and if i was doing another year at uni i would rebook here.

Firstly they collect religiously rentals from Students and in the past year the payments have been erratic January 2024 they paid out £400 for 3 months April 2024 £1000 July £400 .October £200 & January 2005 £56same rental each month paid by student.
They claim to have no telephone number & don’t respond to emails
Who regulates this company.They are ripping off landlords

Dear Mr Sizalakho, thank you for your review. We are obviously disappointed at your rating and comment. However, I do feel in this instance your accusations have been made out of context, regarding your investment at Poulson House. You purchased this unit through the developer/agent on an assured rent guarantee, this has absolutely nothing to do with Cloud. When your assured rent guarantee expired or was cancelled, your unit would expect to achieve market rates in the student sector. We have written several educational emails to all leaseholders at Poulson, you included, which has explained in detail what you purchased and why you are not achieving the same rent as you did under your assured deal. We have even held a video conference call which was well received from leaseholders. Developers offer highly attractive assured rental rates to make them an attractive investment opportunity. Unfortunately, in many cases, the selling agent does not fully consider the actual cost of running these buildings and in most cases, once your assured rent has finished the investment return will drop dramatically. This is not the fault of Cloud. We specialise in running student buildings, and occupancy at Poulson has been better since we took over the management of lettings. The cost of running these blocks is considerably higher that a normal residential property. You are paying for all utilities, staff, internet, and a far-reaching set of fire safety, health, and safety compliance works. We are not "ripping off" landlord, as you put it. The cost of running these buildings is what it is. We prepare a Service Charge budget and full accounts will be presented within 6 months of the SC year end. Every item of expenditure can be verified and backed up with invoices etc. Your accusations are false and incorrect. Please do not blame Cloud for your investment choice, we had nothing to do with that. We note you have emailed our landlord liaison team and all emails have been responded to, except for the last email received on Thursday, 13th Feb, which will be answered this week. Could you please amend this review to reflect the true position? Please take this up with the agents that sold you this investment.

Avoid CloudRooms: A Gross, disappointing and unhygienic experience

I had an extremely unpleasant experience with CloudRooms and strongly advise others to avoid their services. During my stay, the living conditions were consistently unhygienic and poorly maintained. There were persistent plumbing issues, with blockages in the bathroom drains filled with hair and debris, creating unbearable odors. The kitchen was always dirty and filled with a suffocating, oily smell that made cooking impossible, and there was no effort to enforce basic cleanliness among tenants. Despite multiple complaints, the agency's response was inadequate, providing only temporary fixes that failed to address the root cause of these issues. Additionally, the Wi-Fi was unreliable for over a month, despite being a promised amenity. Overall, CloudRooms failed to deliver a livable environment or fulfill their commitments, which negatively impacted my health and well-being. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for accommodation.

Unprofessional and badly managed

Unprofessional and badly managed. Over the 10 month we lived there we had our mail keys withheld for over 2 months, 2 leaks from flats above us, cockroaches, a broken dish washer for the entire duration of our tenancy (with no rent deduction), a variety of mould in the laundry room, worrying smouldering piles of ash outside the main entrance, regular unannounced entries into our apartment by staff, and now they will not return my deposit to me (it's currently been 2 months since my tenancy ended).

I have contacted both the general Cloud Student Homes email and the Stratus email but had no response. I have opened a request through the deposit scheme which they have also not responded to so I will have to spend time and money contacting a solicitor.

Generally the company seem bad at responding, but Stratus in Sheffield seems particularly bad. The building is a mess and student ambassadors have no idea what they're doing.

(The only good thing I have to say is that the Stratus caretaker is lovely and the only person who got anything done. He fixed any issues that he could himself. He was let down by the management who at the beginning of our tenancy didn't forward issues to him quickly, and later on wouldn't contact specialist e.g plumbers, quickly or sometimes at all (re the dishwasher))
