Never book your holidays through Sun Holidays; it's a complete scam. Once you've booked, if you find yourself in an emergency, they won't offer cancellations, amendments, or refunds. There's no benefit for customers whatsoever, and they don't allow any changes even within a 24-hour window with minimal cancellation fees. It's a total scam, ripping people off without any remorse. I recommend booking through a reputable website where you can have peace of mind knowing you can get refunds, make changes, or amendments. Not everyone reads the terms and conditions, and it's a big company. Maintaining such strict terms and conditions only reinforces the perception of it being a total scam. I'm highly disappointed in the rubbish service provided by Sun Holidays.

We wouldn’t do the sun holidays deal again, we ended up paying £250 for our holiday which was fine as we went on a bank holiday weekend for 3 nights, the reason why we wouldn’t do it again was the caravan was supposed to be a silver grade, it was barely a bronze, it was dirty and basic and when we priced the holiday up booking direct with the caravan site it worked out we had paid £20 less doing it through the vouchers. In future we’ll not bother buying the papers and just pay the extra for a nicer site.

I booked the so called Sun £9.50 weekend breaks I knew I had to book for 4 people although there are only 2 of us travelling and accept this where I think we were mis-sold was I opted for a upgrade from the standard caravan to what they called extra wide caravans this then included a free upgrade to what they called the extra wide premium caravan for which I paid an extra £67 I was happy to do so until I went into the actual caravan site where I could not see the Premium caravans so I phoned the caravan site that said they do not have Premium caravans or extra wide caravans the only thing on the site was Gold plus caravans this was the only option so I phoned the sun to see why I had been charged for a upgrade when there is no upgrade I was told that this was the suns opinion of the caravans I said in my opinion I had been mis-sold and would like either my money back and a cancellation or the extra £67 I had paid for nothing I told the man fromm the sun I had read the terms and conditions and it said nothing about the caravans were the description of the sun he just kept saying the sun had done nothing wrong and if I cancelled there was no refund I told him I would put out this situation for others to see as I am sure I am not the only person who has been duped booking these holidays the 3 days in a caravan cost me a total of £188 so hardly £9.50 holidays are they at the end he had the gaul to say if we did not intend to go for our weekend would we let the Sun know so they could sell the holiday to someone else who had been unsuccessful
could book the weekend and obviously mislead them too I would never buy the sun again and certainly would never book anything with them again so everyone please be aware if you think about booking any other so called offers they have to offer

Booked sun holidays for years. Last booking I paid the basic £9.50 and was allocated a beautiful caravan extra wide which is usually a £80 upgrade. Have stayed in smaller units but considering it’s just me and 2 children it was perfect. Would recommend:-)

Booked a holiday for what I thought was 19th August , some how default date of 19th Feb was entered. Booked and paid for before I noticed. Phoned resort within an hour of booking to cancel. Couldn't get anywhere as I didn't have a booking ref until confirmed by resort. So after receiving my confirmation I went onto live chat, the guy was helpful and tried to offer alternative sites and dates but nothing out of school term time. So ultimately I asked for a refund and was told I'd have to contact Sun holidays. Sun holidays state ' no refunds' and to speak with holiday firm. So now I'm left not even knowing if my holiday is cancelled.

Scam to boost the sun newspaper sales!! You go out at the crack of dawn to buy these newspapers to get the codes to book nice and early and when you try and book these holidays on the majority of sites it just keeps saying error the reservation has not been made, their are either very few holidays to book in the first place or none at all at certain caravan sites! and the few that are available are a million miles away to the middle of knowwhere where you wouldn’t go to for a couple of days because you can’t gain access to your booked caravan until 4pm on day of arrival and booted out at 10am when you have to leave so you basically lose a couple of days on your holiday which makes it all not worth all the hassle in the first place, I used to to book a lot these sun holidays a few years back and normally you always got the holiday you booked and they where well organised but after this recent experience I think what once was a great way to get a cheap holiday has become a bit of a con!

You get what you pay for! I knew not to expect too much for 5 nights away costing me £60. I told my wife if it was absolutely terrible we could get back in the car and go home £60 down, not a huge loss. We stayed at pontins Southport, it was not exactly the nicest place but we basically used it as a base and just left the site visiting nearby attractions and exploring. The beach is amazing and a nature reserve runs alongside it. Cycling is excellent loads of long straight flat roads. Also the sun was shining the entire time we were there which definitely helps. The pontins site itself was rubbish but we only used it to sleep in really. If you’re not particularly fussy and just want a place to crash then it’s ideal. If you’re looking for a splendid family vacation with everything on site it might be disappointing. £60 though for 5 nights! Unbelievable 😂

I have been doing The Sun £9:50 holidays for years, and I always book the one that says NO EXTRAS, and pay no more than price stated,some people, want to upgrade, and then it charges more,I have always had nice caravans, and brilliant holidays with them, twice a year

Booked a break via sun holidays to then look on the parks direct website to find that the same holiday would have cost £140 less booking with them!!!

Sent a complaint to Sun Holidays and immediately got a response stating because it’s for 6 people and not within 4 people then it’s not under the price match guarantee. How can the amount of people make a difference when the accommodation is based on duration not pp.

Will never ever use Sun Holidays again. Ruined my 6 week olds first holiday.

Just come back from Prestatyn sands in wales with sun holiday would recommend NOBODY goes here it really was an absolute dive absolutely nothing positive about this place apart from the lady waving you in and out the premises place is so run down it’s manky everything is broke it’s over crowded rude people everywhere just don’t go here !

Booked & paid for the holiday & then contacted The Sun in regards to my need for accessible accommodation, as per their Q&A.
Absolutely diabolical customer service, it felt like a constant battle to try & get somewhere sorted. According to the sun advisor there wasn't a single accessible accommodation place left anywhere in the UK for the week I had booked!!
Felt totally discriminated against, living with a disability is tough enough.
Holiday was cancelled & now I'm left with very disappointed children. I did recieve a refund from them - but trying to find an alternative holiday is proving tricky on our budget.
Just wanted a few days of relaxing fun with my family.

Booked a holiday to Prestatyn sands for April, told my daughter & her cousin id take them both as they don’t see too much of each other living faraway & they are like best buddies on chat. Couple of days ago had an email saying the holiday had been cancelled 😞 they were gutted. I’m still waiting for my refund & im now taking them elsewhere for a few days. So some advice- don’t get too excited until the day 👍

Basically our booking was messed up and no one will change it or cancel it. We're now paying far more than having booked through the company directly. Both The Sun and Park Holidays are millionaire if not billionaire companies yet they won't make accommodations for a regular person. The particular park was Steeple Bay. Shame.

Absolute disgusting service by SUN. I booked and paid on 15 January for my holiday on July. After 1 month I received a email saying I owe them more £80. I called sun and the person saying that there was system error with price and now I have to pay £80 more to keep the booking. Why I have no pay for their error? Also, I booked on the priority day so that I can get the more available sites to choose from. After 1 month all the sites are booked or price gone higher, so even if I cancel I’ll not get another site. The customer service person also agrees with me that that’s their fault but says they can’t do anything, either pay more or cancel. I had my work off on that dates and all the holidays arrangements made. Kids were very excited. Thanks SUN for ruining everything. What a con.. Avoid them by any cost. I’m complaining to trading standards.

I booked a Sun Holiday and didn't realise that the search had automatically changed from my desired dates to their 'alternate dates'. I proceeded without double checking and only realised that the dates had changed when I received the booking confirmation.
Sun Holidays were then very quick to copy and paste, in bold, their T&Cs that "Absolutely no amendments whatsoever can be made by you....."
Also check the reviews for the sites on offer.
There is far less availability than there used to be, but the sites available tend to receive incredibly poor reviews.
I have wasted £££ on a holiday that I cannot attend and that The Sun and Pontins refuse to assist with cancellation.

Never Never works out at £9.50pp , only if you select dates in term time , otherwise its £29.50pp in summer holidays + charges that you carn't take off , £260.00 for a 4 night stay with charges , 15th Aug 2022 , MASSIVE CON typical sun newspaper , 👎👎👎👎👎👎

Booked a 4 night stay at Sand le Mere for June 2023, but picked wrong Park, I wanted Cayton Bay near Scarborough. Now I find that I cannot change or cancel booking, so I have lost £150 as I do not want Sand le Mere.
Such an easy way for club950 to swindle money from the public, complete rip off.
I can't be the only one in this predicament, how much more ££££'s have they conned from people.

Absolute con. Very misleading. What you pay is just the suns deposit but they make out this is full payment. I paid 121 pounds for a 4 day break in pontins but then get a separate email days later directly from holiday park saying owe them 180 for their cut and have 7 days to pay it. So alot more than £9.50!!! I then found the same deal on same dates directly through pontins for £272. So no discount actually dearer. Shocking from the sun.

Turned up and collected key to room on pontins in Prestatyn kids very excited. Opened the door to the room and was shocked. Dead flies in the bath, poo marks in the toilet, bathroom not been cleaned at all. Kitchen was disgusting had not been cleaned door was broken rubbish still in the bin. The couch was all ripped, toe nails on the floor by this point we had to turn around lock the door go back to reception and check back out and get the hell out of there. The site was full of rubbish really run down. I feel giving 1 star is to much for my experience never again.

I used to love these getaways from the Sun, now I'm heartbroken by the very shabby callous way I have been treated recently by the Sun and Parkdean camp.
Being a pensioner this was the only way my wife and I could afford a break so when I received notification of this year's offers I immediately booked a midweek break and chose Parkdean again as my preferred choice. 3 weeks ago I became ill and was diagnosed with Cancer, the upshot of this was that we couldn't now go away as I am facing major surgery with a long recovery time. Because of my condition my wife decided to contact the Sun holidays asking for a refund, they didn't want to know and suggested that she contact Parkdean direct. She did this and explained the circumstances but refused point blank a refund. I would understand this if our asking meant that the park would lose money but it wouldn't have been the case as the Park was a popular one and could easily have resold our June booking many times over. So the booking has to stand but there won't be anyone there and we have lost our money which we can ill afford now. If I'm lucky enough to survive the surgery I vow I will never ever buy the Sun paper again or book holidays with them again.
