I would strongly advise against using Collective Legal Conveyancers. My experience was one of the most frustrating and disorganised I have encountered in any professional context.

I instructed them through Homey to handle the sale of my one-bedroom flat — a simple, chain-free sale agreed back in October 2025, completion finally happened April 2026. The process has taken an excessively long time with no satisfactory explanation. My first solicitor went completely AWOL. Only after I chased repeatedly was I transferred to a new conveyancer — someone I never actually spoke to and had to contact constantly via email and chase via WhatsApp just to get basic updates.

Communication throughout was informal, disjointed, and conducted almost entirely through a WhatsApp group and phone calls. There was little formal correspondence, no paper trail, and nothing put in writing — entirely inappropriate for a legal transaction. I was left to piece together what was happening with no proactive guidance whatsoever.

At every stage there has been confusion and delay. The situation reached its worst point at exchange, when a completion statement arrived containing errors and then the revised statement with no name, title or contact details on it, and I was never even asked to sign it.

They state fees are transparent, they were not. Additional fees which had not been mentioned at any point of the transaction were only highlighted when I asked for a review on the account and what I would be charged upon completion.

Collective Legal Conveyancers were at times verging on incompetent, consistently reactive rather than proactive, and defensive when issues were raised. This is not what you want from a conveyancer when dealing with one of the biggest financial transactions of your life. Avoid.

Great service – they’re involved in a number of my transactions and consistently deliver.

We recently completed what was probably one of the most challenging sales of my career. The chain included an auction property and a council buyback, which added multiple layers of complexity. Despite this, the team at Collective Legal maintained excellent communication throughout.

We achieved a simultaneous completion at 4:45pm on the day, and most importantly, no one was left without a home. A fantastic result under pressure.

Even though we are sure they had a lot of other cases, it amazed us how they knew everything at any given time and they have been always kind and informative.

Buying / Selling properties are tough, throwing in a chain even more complex, but having amazing solicitors who are amazing is priceless.

Me and my partner used Collective legal for buying our first house. They were extremely helpful and professional throughout the whole process providing us regular updates and helping us understand everything going on. Vinoli and Muni couldn't have been better.

Very attentive, good service from AJ, at no point were my solicitor an issue in the process. Minor issue with final bill being the incorrect amount but this was swiftly resolved. I would recommend this to a friend.

Shockingly bad service from Collective Legal. We were kept in the dark all the way though, they did not talk us through the process at all and didn't send us the documents to view and sign until very close to the completion date, putting the chain in jeopardy. At one point we hadn't heard from them in weeks and saw no progress logged on the Homey site so we started looking into whether we could change solicitors. They wasted a day changing my surname from the correct one to my maiden name on the documents, which could have been avoided by actually looking at the identity documents we submitted at the start and querying it if they weren't sure. Even after agreeing that I could use my current surname, the maiden name was still auto-filled as my digital signature. I also had to chase several times to get answers to my simple questions which they had tried to straight up ignore.

For Collective legal: my homey ref was PU-JHY-0006 and the staff "helping" / making things harder for me were POD Name- Thteta and main contact Eksha Limbu

I would not recommend Collective Legal as a conveyancer. Their staff is uncommunicative and prone to lying. I suspect that I was also nearly a victim of fraud when they insisted that I pay them more than was actually required for our transaction. It took several emails insisting that our completion statement reflect what was actually quoted at the beginning. There were line items on their original statement that were actually free services per their terms of business and a blanket CHARGE for "deposit" which esentially negated the money I had put down on the service. Even after they finally accepted the changes to the correct statement, there was no acknowledgement or apology for the mistakes they had made which would have cost us a signifigant amount of money. My wife and I both sent several questions which were ignored. Important documents were changed without notice after we gave our approval. Lies were told to the estate agent and solicitors of the people we were buying from, mostly to do with how close we were to being ready to exchange. This whole experience has caused us a lot of anxiety. Again, I would not recommend them at all and will likely be submitting a complaint to the CLC and SRA.

Sanjay and Minuri from the Birmingham office were my Solicitors. They did an amazing job - we managed to push to competed in roughly 8 weeks! I did have to chase up acouple times but that's to be expected, both Sanjay and Minuri we're very helpful! would reccomend!

I have just sold my house with Homey and collective legal and I can’t recommend them enough! This was such a stressful huge thing for me that I haven’t done for 12 years. I was tempted to go with what I call old fashioned solicitors but am so pleased I didn’t.

They have a totally slick approach and professional at all times. A WhatsApp group that just meant everyone was in touch and could ask/gain knowledge and advice instantaneously. A really refreshing modern way of selling and buying! Great teamwork and responsive communication always. My sale wasn’t easy and there were a few complex issues for the team to deal with which they did impeccably! They always had time for me whenever I called or emailed and no matter what I asked or how many times I asked, the team were always on hand to answer and give me that reassurance which is so important when you are dealing with such a huge stressful life event. It’s something they deal with on a day to day basis but it’s something that to most people, definitely myself, is so alien and stressful. They made me feel like I was their only client!

Team Lambda, Thasneem & Thashmialan and all overs who were involved were just brilliant! Dont think twice before using them!
