TLDR: Feels like Computer Repair Man referred me to a cowboy

I had a problem with the home PC and asked a Computer Repair Man firm (specifically BL IT Solutions) to come over and take a look. Looking very much as if they've stolen the PC for spare parts as they've had it for over 6 weeks, aren't returning it and aren't responding to emails.

Home visit on 11 August, unable to fix PC, took it away. Might be able to fix in a few days, might be longer if spare parts needed. Heard nothing more.

Asked for status update via email on 21 August. No reply.

Chased via email on 26 August. Got a response on 27th, promising to chase Dan following day. Heard no more.

Chased via email on 3 Sept. Same day response, promising to chase Dan. Heard no more.

Chased by email on 8 Sept. No response.

Chased on phone on 12 Sept. Told that Dan would call me back. He never did.

Formally chased on 14 Sept, demanding update within 7 days. Same day response saying PC can't be repaired and Dan has been trying to getting contact (he hasn't).

Called and emailed on 15 Sept asking when PC would be returned. Dan emailed back to say he'd try to return it on 15th or 16th. Heard no more. PC not returned. I want the PC returned so I can get someone else to look at it. Because with their attitude to customer service I wouldn't be surprised if they'd return it without attempting to repair it, knowing that they wouldn't be getting a great review even if they did fix it.

Chased by email on 18 Sept. No reply.

Chased by email on 22 Sept. No reply.

Tried calling on 24 and 25 September. Nobody answering the phone.

Reported them to trading standards on 25 September. Seeking help from Citizens Advice Bureau.

Edit: after seeing this review, CRM contacted BL IT Solutions, they got their act together and returned the PC. I briefly raised CRM to three stars. But then I saw that Ben Leach has commented on my review on Yell, disputing all the above facts, insisting that they'd been in regular contact.

So back to one star. CRM referred me to a cowboy. All those decent firms using this platform are tainted through no fault of their own. If CRM aren't going to clean the place out, then maybe those other firms should be looking for platforms that insist on higher standards.

Another edit: Ben's changed his response and us all apologies. Maybe he's seen the light. But BL IT and CRM still only get one star from me. Far too stressful an experience.

I would have liked a quicker resolution, however given the circumstances, it's understandable that it wasn't possible on this occasion. I needed my screen fixed and there was some misunderstanding on details, but they were nice enough to offer a reduced price which I think was very kind considering it was me that misunderstood

Referral took a few days to gain a response, I had found another repair company in that time frame.

I am so glad i found this company online, my experience from start to finish was a breath of fresh air. I emailed my enquiry, i received and got a response, my pc was picked up the next day, fixed and brought back to me. I had an enquiry after and Tom was really helpful, happy to answer any questions i had, he went above and beyond to be helpful. I can't recommend Tom and this company enough. The cost was reasonable. If i have any issues i will definitely be using computer repair man again.

Excellent service. Laptop collected pm fixed and delivered back next morning. Jonathan very polite and kept in touch throughout. The price we paid was very acceptable as we thought we would need to replace laptop.

My son had a corrupted card from his camera and lost everyphoto he took that day. I spoke to Darren who said he would pick it up from my sons work, which he did. That was Friday, on Monday Darren phoned to say he has managed to recover over 800 photo's from my sons card, which was awesome.
Highly recomend Darren and the PC Hospital and they are now my go to for any future problems.

Darren spent about 2.5hrs copying data from an old win 10 system to a win 11 system, and everything now works

Darren recently completed a hard drive upgrade on my PC. Darren collected the PC and returned it within 2 days. Everything is working great, just as expected. Thanks very much!

My old desktop computer was very slow and had quite a few faults. Steve arrived soon after my initial enquiry and after some discussion, we decided that a new laptop was the best option.
He brought that on a Saturday and spent quite a bit of time with me setting it up and taking me through the new procedures.
His technical knowledge was first class and the only thing which he should improve on was his time-keeping.
I would certainly recommend him to others.

Steve was fantastic, punctual and extremely hard working. I had a very slow and sluggish computer which was on it's last legs. Now I've very happy with my new PC! Surfing is enjoyable again!

David Hale was clearly knowledgeable as well as polite. He was up front about the costs and time of the work undertaken.

I purchased a new IMac and Phil transferred everything from the old one to the new one, set up all my apps and had so much patience with me asking questions and explaining all the technical terms. I would have no problem in highly recommending Phil for any computer problem you have.
