Pure awful! I have been dealing with Alisa — avoid at all costs. This person could ask questions all day in an empty room. I respect the process, but the way this service has been handled has already cost me clients. As always, taking your money is fast and efficient; however, once completing your document, expect endless questions one after another with long waiting times. Do not expect the logic of a call or a series of questions to be asked in one message. Instead, expect them to ask your verifier the same questions numerous times to gain the same answers.

Like I say, I respect the process, as I have worked at numerous hospitals and schools and have been in the UK from birth, but this service has been the worst — and I had to use them due to a client request. I have passed this feedback on to NHS Capital SMT and the intended school where I was meant to perform a project, which has now been lost thanks to these people.

I had a really positive experience with the DBS process today. I had previously struggled with other companies, but Ross made the whole process so much easier and straightforward.

He was extremely helpful, responded promptly to my questions, and was always happy to assist. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and his patience and support made a process I had found difficult before feel much more manageable.

Let’s start with a plus - Kathryn, who dealt with my application the second time was very efficient and courteous. The previous assistant seemed to be typing from a script and getting a straight answer was very difficult which led to miscommunication and having to resubmit my claim. The whole process should be simple but it’s counterintuitive and it’s not made clear how an independent verifier gets to access the application or who has to contact them. There is definitely room for improvement!

Online service was mostly self-explanatory and easy to navigate.

I needed some help surrounding the DBS application, Ross the senior account manager gave me a call and discussed things with me and sent through some of the questions I had. This was an incredible help

Update: I initially had a frustrating experience when an £18 corporate subscription was applied while I was trying to complete a standard individual DBS check. However, after leaving feedback, Tom from Clear Check emailed me directly to resolve the issue.

Tom was polite and professional throughout. He arranged a full refund for the £18 fee, confirmed my account was completely cancelled with no ongoing subscription and assured me that steps are being taken to clarify the application process for individual users.

Although the initial process could be clearer, I am grateful for the resolution once brought to Tom’s attention. Upgraded from 1 star to 3 stars for the prompt resolution.

Initial review: I was searching for an official DBS check and was directed through Google search ads into CRB Direct website which is one of the Clear check companies , where I end up unknowingly buying a "Corporate Registration" and was charged £18.00 for a "CRB Corporate Registration" that I did not ask for and cannot use. I contacted customer support on the exact same day to cancel the account and request a refund . Instead of refunding my money, they - a person namely Steven- refused, claiming their registration fee is non-refundable by virtue of creating an account, while casually mentioning that they would "cancel my next renewal" revealing they had set up a recurring subscription without my explicit consent. No checks or documents were ever processed through their platform. Relying on blanket "non-refundable" terms for automated registrations that were purchased under misleading circumstances is completely unacceptable under UK consumer law. I have had to dispute this transaction through my bank via a chargeback and block them from taking further payments.
