Absolutely terrible
Mann and co recommend them to their clients obviously as they receive commission.
They do not reply to my solicitor or the agent . Two months and nothing.
The ombudsman should get involved as the firm is acting completely unprofessional and costing people a lot of time and money,and causing people a lot of stress

Worst company I have ever dealt with, made my house sale go on for longer than required, fees extortionate compared to everyone else on the market, I went with on Bridgfords recommendation, the only thing they did wrong brilliant otherwise. Biggest mistake with countrywide, like a giant pyramid scheme, can't talk to anyone who can do anything, if you are lucky enough to get in contact with your solicitor they can't do anything without passing it upstairs for permission or approval, over 1 hour every time you try to contact them to find nothing is actually being done, well you may get your documents or file are being reviewed as a company tag line response, after my house sale and purchase finally went through late after increasing my stamp duty, moving van costs and loss of earnings, costing an additional £4000, I would say I did more leg work and am more qualified than the first two levels that you will spend most of your time dealing with, please avoid and do your homework and go for a local solicitors not a company where you are just a substandard customer who is just £££ signs to them. AVOID!!!!!!!!

I wish I had read the other reviews before going with Countrywide. Absolutely appalling service - they do not respond to emails, messages on conveyancing connect and reaching them by phone takes about 1 hour. You can never speak with the team manager (that is their policy). No progress on the case for many weeks. Their fees are expensive. I followed the complaints escalation process and contacted Ben Cook. Again, no response there either. This is not an acceptable way to do business.
A 1 star rating is too high.

Country wide are the vendors conveyancer for the house I'm trying to buy
They never answer the phone or emails even from blundells estate agents on our behalf.
They sat on and email from my conveyancer for 7 weeks before just forwarding it to the vendor to sort out. My conveyancer has sent several emails and paper letters trying to find out what's going on.
They sent the vendors the transfer documents but failed to add my name as purchaser .
We are cash buyers with no chain and here we are over 3 months down the line and no closer to a completion.
Absolutely dismal performance, avoid at all costs

I would give this company a 0. I have written this review as I would not like to see another person go through the stress and upset of purchasing/selling their house. I was recommended this company from my estate agent, what a huge mistake it was to trust them and engage this company to complete my purchase! I would highly recommend anyone looking for a Conveyancing service to look else where.

It has taken 6 months to complete the purchase, within this time the overseas stamp duty lapsed, adding an extra £2,400.00 on top of the purchase and fees. I was constantly made to feel like a 3rd class customer and told "sorry we haven't got back to you, we've been to busy with other people' when they finally responded to my emails. To add insult to injury, I was assigned a legal assistant who had no experience or supervision (her supervisor is on long term sick leave.) In the end I had to request she pass on my case to a more competent person, ideally a solicitor. I would note that I was still charged a solicitors fee.

The whole process was extremely stressful to both the vendor and I. Both of us where close to pulling out of the purchase/sale as it was making us sick with stress and anxiety.

I would avoid this company if you would like your purchase/sale to go through in a timely, stress free manner.

An absolutely devastating time with this firm. They did nothing on my house purchase for over two months. We
were then reassigned a different solicitor only to be completely left in the dark for another two and a half weeks. It is now very likely our chain will collapse next week due to their utter negligence. Our house sale was a fresh start after a tough couple of years ( as I am sure
many families have had) and they have completely ruined it. If you value your mental health, finances and actually want to move, please do not use this company.

Nothing positive to say at all. Just leaving this to warn others to avoid and use a smaller local solicitor...

We are over 5 months into process and still not spoken to my solicitor.... Just one email last week after me chasing for 2/3 months..

Stamp duty holiday ending soon - we are likely required to pay it if we don't complete before... Which given its taken 10 weeks to check a signature, I am not optimistic.

Have left a Google review as well as for some strange reason there are loads of 5 star reviews on there which are completely opposite to what I have experience and what people are saying on social media.

Appalling service!
The only time we have had a phone call through the whole process is to tell me that she was calling to "manage my expectations" how disgusting! Apparently can't do anything until our solicitor back from annual leave! Can't get through via telephone! Told were missing documents and information when had several times so duplicated! Convinced to use them by Bridgfords estate agents as would be quicker which is a complete lie! NO introduction by phone call only portal use...Will never use either again.

Bulk conveyancing outfit set up by big estate agents chain to grab themselves even more money from your house sale. Terribly slow service. Phones seem to be answered by students or robots. Almost impossible to get to speak to an actual conveyancer- one suspects they are overloaded and underpaid. Avoid this shambles. Run!!!

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! Countrywide Conveyancing Services are just about to cause the entire chain to collapse! Property lawyers never reply to correspondence or call you back. Complaints and issues are escalated to Managers, but I'm not sure they even existed as the issues are never resolved. A colleague of Countrywide Conveyancing Services actually quoted, "I can't comment on whether other people do their job or not" This was about ther own Property Lawyers. I'm more annoyed that they were recommended by our estate agents! Worst Conveyancing Services EVER! Will never use again and I would strongly advise anyone ever using them.

I wish I had read these reviews before I agreed to go ahead and use this shambles of a company, 5 months on into a no chain house sale, can hardly ever speak to anyone, phone lines always ring out, my own Solicitor Rohit is obviously way too important to even call me to introduce him/her???? Lack of service is appalling, I have had to collect info that they are being paid for. Logged a complaint and awaiting a response - it better be a good one

Please do not go with this so called company! 6 months and still waiting to complete. They tell lies seem to be genuinely obstructive. One has just laughed down the phone at us when we are distressed and trying to get this purchase and sale completed! Apparently you cannot speak to a manager as they don’t take phone calls! I have never known anything like it and then they charge you absolutely shocking!

Avoid at all costs. Made our life a nightmare. What should have been a straight forward move, virtually no chain, they managed to drag it out for 8 months! Only exchanging with 2 days left on our mortgage agreement, which had already had to be extended. I fully expected to lose the house we were buying because of these amateurs. They kept asking the same questions, week after week, to the solicitor dealing with the house we were buying, who had to repeatedly send the same replies. Then, after many months, the legal assistant we were dealing with admitted, in an email, she wasn't legally trained to deal with this and didn't really know what she was doing. I have never dealt with a company so incompetent and have never been so stressed. They are a joke....but happy to still take my money. No one should use this company and everyone should make sure no one they know ever uses them. A useless disgrace of a company.

I have never experienced this kind of bad service in my 60+ life. Recommended by Bridgefords by I did not do my homework so contracted it for selling service. It has been more than 4 months, they have not done the job. They are lazy, not contactable, not responsible, .... whatever unwanted words you can think of. Bad, bad, bad, ...

Talk about terrible service!

Countrywide Conveyancing was recommended to me by the Agent selling the house and I regret not doing my own search for decent lawyers.

1. They lost my mortgage deed - I couldn't believe that lawyers could actually lose/misplace an important legal document such as a signed mortgage deed - but Countrywide Conveyancing did.
2. I never spoke to a human when I called, the line was ALWAYS answered by an automated voice machine.
3. Their response time is about a week. There was just no sense that they cared about my sale going through, let alone prioritising it. And when the 'lawyer' Zoe called it always seemed like she hadn't actually checked the latest information on my file.

I eventually pulled out of that sale and cancelled my services with Countrywide. I would not recommend this service to anyone.

Nearly 6 months for a simple sale no chain - no movement

Shocking service. They are incompetent and disrespectful, they don't even bother to answer the phones or respond to emails. They lie and say one thing to one person and then don't bother to get in touch with anyone else in the chain. These people have no regard for how a house move effects peoples lives. Avoid if you actually want to move house. As mentioned on other reviews, if I could leave minus stars I would.

Would give less than 1 if possible.
Heel dragging and non existent communication.
One of the worst firms I've ever paid money to deal with.
Felt like they should be paying me some of the hours I've spent on hold.
Don't risk your house sale go get a real lawyer.

No no no, stay well clear of these bunch. All the reviews are correct. Spinless, useless and absolutely shocking. We had to pay extra money to another solicitor to get the job done. Then extra money to receive keys of new property as all funds where incorrectly paid. While our removal company had no option but to delivery our furniture onto a rainy drive way as we had no access due to once again this companies mistakes. Honestly do not put your business here, you will be paying for it emotionally and physically. They are just money grabbers, and the "lazy bunch".
