Absolutely terrible service, you can't contact them via phone. Usually they cut you off after being on hold for 15mins. When you do get through you are greeted with a receptionist that has no idea about your case and tells you someone will call you back. They never do. There is no responsibility taken by any individual and any communication is signed 'Countrywide Conveyancers'. There is no point of contact and your queries will not be answered if you use the online portal. The fees are also very expensive compared to other conveyancers. Do not use this company - they will take a long time to do any task, and you will not be able to contact them. Your purchase or sale is likely to fall through because of this.

They are not even worth 1 star. They misdirected our file to the wrong person in their office and that lost 3 weeks. They sent off additional enquiries after several weeks delay and the enquiries were about facts they already had on file. We were selling. The buyer was begging them to complete but it seemed his file kept going to the back of a queue. The delays cost the seller a fortune in rates and the buyer extra in rent.
Update: after careful consideration it seems we might get completion quicker with another buyer. Our newish top quality property is empty. Will not accept any offers from future buyers using this service.
Whatever you do DON'T USE THEM
Whatever you do, don't use this company. Everything everyone else has said is true. They even did searches on the WRONG house, and sent me draft contracts for the WRONG house. Then it's always somebody elses fault. You will get absolutely nowhere with them. I started this process in July and it's now November and they say I won't get the searches back till the end of the month...mind you they said that last month too. Get the Gas Board to do your conveyancing, they will have more idea
Perhaps we should all e-mail the Legal Ombudsman and give our collective accounts. It won't let me post the email for them but it's easy enough to find on Google also got my name wrong on the contract ffs. Also they block your number if you are being what they perceive as a pain so use works/mates phones…evil
Shambles
How I wish I had looked at these reviews before using this service. I say service, but it has been so poor that it isn't even service. The lack of communication, lack of response and general inefficiency and ineptitude is beyond belief. DO NOT USE THEM if you want to remain calm and sane. I will be taking this further.
Absolutely shambolic and pathetic…
Absolutely shambolic and pathetic service. Dragging more than 5 months and still job not done. No reply to the messages either by text, calls or emails. I am paying to a solicitor who never spoke to me. Same questions and documents are requested again and again. It takes more than a month to answer one question. A junior without much experience looking into the file. One should not hire their services even if free. Complete waste of time.

I am currently sat here in tears whilst I write this review because we are almost 6 months into our sale, and currently 3 months on JUST enquires! We are so close to pulling out because I mentally can not cope with the unnecessary stress this company is causing me and my family.

I would advise avoiding this solicitors at all costs. If you want to be kept in the dark throughout and spend countless hours chasing for a simple update (and never be able to speak to your actual solicitor) on your transaction, then this firm is perfect for you.

Country Wide Solicitors are terrible. Do not use this service. The would go on holiday and not inform me, you can never get hold of anyone. If you do anything, make sure you avoid at all costs.

My husband and I’s Buyer used them to sell their own and buy our property.
From beginning to end it took 25 weeks or in months 6.
April 2021 to October 2021.
They didn’t speak or communicate with our estate agent nor solicitor.
No updates to their own client.
Speed nor efficiency is not key with this company.
They take their sweet time with the work.
Our solicitor and estate agent were not pleased.
At the end on completion and exchange on the very day they were getting things wrong for their own client.
Not releasing funds for the sale of our property included.
Stringing along for months with no idea what was going on and what stage.
Finally a date in August but no this was not so. Even though we emptied the house on time and moved out.
Only TWO weeks towards the end and endless of asking a date.
Queries popping up about things that would come up on a search- if they had bothered to do it.
Estate agent only had the Buyer to speak to as company refused to speak to estate agent.
We needed this sale for another house so we couldn’t pull out.
We had an early experience before when we wanted to use as “approved” with mortgage lender NINE years ago.
They didn’t seem to want to fill in forms at all nor for us.
Getting information wrong was another put off.
Thankfully we parted ways to another solicitor.
Absolutely would never deal with anyone who deals with them ever.
We would rather pull out.
Do yourself a favour and never use them.

No words can describe the service. It could be the worst service I have ever received on any purchase ever. They are extortionately priced and the service is absolutely horrendous
This is my 2nd review
This is my 2nd review. Our buyer was recommended CCS by her estate agent Frank Innes and almost 6 months later we are on the verge of pulling out of the sale. We have had nothing but lies and unnecessary delays from them. Our buyer initially filed a complaint about her conveyancer Andrew as he didn't bother to even pick up the file for the first 3 months and ignored all attempts of communication. We were all told that it had been passed onto a different team to deal with, but now he has been put back in charge of the case has has been just as useless and ignorant as before, as well as constantly lying about doing things when clearly he hasn't. The enquiries were finally sent a month and a half ago which were answered fully by me the same day, but because he is incompetent and lazy, he has resent them again because he can't/won't do his job properly. I have answered the enquiries in full 3 times now which is beyond a joke, and trying to get a completion date confirmed is like trying to get blood out of a stone. Nothing gets done unless you complain to the escalations team, and I've lost count of the number of escalations our buyer has had to do just to get the basic things done in order to progress. My husband and I have had to apply for new jobs because CCS ignored 2 previous completion deadlines. They are a wholly unprofessional company and I would strongly advise everyone to have nothing to do with them whatsoever. I am also warning anyone I know who is buying or selling a property to steer well clear!! They will end up costing you thousands and are no good for your mental health. They just don't care that they are ruining people's lives.
Worst experience of my life
Worst experience of my life, have walked away after almost 9 months of stress, I cannot take any more, it’s cost thousands so far in temporary accommodation, trying to get a reply is so difficult, they give you hope saying they’ve sent the contract three separate times by email, even to a different email address they say they’ve posted it, they just drag things along, ignore emails from estate agent, save yourself time, stress, panic attacks and money, please go elsewhere.
Solicitors failed to complete…
Solicitors failed to complete sale/purchase on completion date, leaving us stranded with 2 small kids and 5 removals men with nowhere to stay (coastal area in the summer holidays). We had to pay £4k to keep hold of our removals vans as they were booked for jobs the next day. We did complete the next morning and we were refunded the money as they admitted liability. Please please do not use - I wish I had read the reviews before agreeing to use them.

AVOID! Would give no stars if I could! Our buyer is using these guys. Our solicitors are constantly trying to get hold of them without any luck. No one ever picks up the phone. Completely unprofessional. They have really slowed our progress down and has been incredibly frustrating all round. I would avoid these guys like the plague.

AVOID. DON'T GET HOODWINKED BY YOUR ESTATE AGENT INTO USING THEM. I was appalled by the dreadful service I received from CCS and my solicitor's holiday, timed (unbelievably) to co-incide with the end of the stamp duty period, cost me personally £3500. When I raised this with him he said I had not been looked after by his colleagues whilst he was away and did not apologise or show any concern for this situation. I find it wholly unacceptable that a professional person can hold clients in such contempt and I would never recommend CCS; any one of the reviews here could have been written by me. This dreadful attitude is on top of all the other professional mistakes he and colleagues made, including asking three times for Law Society documents which had been sent weeks previously, which I had to supply to prove that they had already been sent (via my seller’s lawyer, not me). In addition the ‘phone is never answered. It is a shambles and I would be embarrassed to be associated with it.

No solicitor assigned to the purchase for 2 weeks. Didn't answer the phone, didn't answer emails, never returned calls. They lied to the sellers solusaying he was holding things up by not providing information when in fact they had emailed him twice to say they had received it. Also tried to get me to buy an indemnity insurance (which they also sell) in case claims were made against "unknown covenants". The house was on a housing ssrate built 25 years ago, sny covensnwoild surely be known by now. Just another delaying tactic. Refused to give any idea whatsoever about when exchange and completion might take place. We ended up in temporary accommodation for over two weeks and everyone storage which added another £1500 and a lot of grey hairs to the cost of moving. They also got the completion bill wrong! If I hadn't formally complained in writing and threatened the legal ombudsman I'd probably still be in temporary accommodation. AVOUD, AVOID AVOID

I contacted Countrywide Conveyancing as they were recommended by Bridgfords Estate Agents (as they get a finders fee for each purchase) I paid £800.00 as two separate fee's to get the ball rolling, without checking the company out on here - a mistake I wont make again.
I informed my mortgage lender who told me to quickly get a refund as they will not work with Countrywide as they are useless, unprofessional, and they are not recognized as a conveyancing company on their board. Immediately I requested a refund, and today I am still chasing the payment that I made at the beginning on the 8th August.
Countrywide keep on giving me excuses why they haven't done it, like they have my details down wrong on their system (after me giving it them 4 times in separate calls and emails)
I am shocked that this company is still allowed to practice after reading all the comments on here, as they are most definitely not qualified to carry out such important work.
The frustration and stress has ruined what was hopefully going to be a fun new adventure for us.
Please steer clear!!

Countrywide is a terrible service sold to people through Palmer Snell estate agents.
They are slow, uncommunicative, and are likely to cause the complete collapse of a chain.
Avoid at all costs.
Palmer Snell will tell you they are highly rated, but a quick google search will show you they are consistently getting 1 star reviews.
We aren't even using them and feel compelled to leave a poor review on them due to the face they are the sole reason our sale / purchase has taken over 3 months to complete. We are still waiting for them to provide a date for completion and suspect this may take another week to come through at the earliest.
They had expedited searches come back to them, which are at a high cost, and they proceeded to sit on them for 1 week before raising any queries.
They refuse to speak to my estate agent, who is only trying to get information so that the rest of the chain can be updated on where we are.
The agent, Palmer Snell is supposedly having trouble finding out what is going on.
If our chain fails, it will be solely because this company has been involved.
Never again will we allow them to be used in any chain. I would rather refuse an offer of sale on a property than have to deal with them again.

Awful service, never again I would use them, need to remind them everytime to do their job because otherwise they wouldn't know. Absolutely dreadful experience. Wish I'd read the reviews prior to dealing with them.

My seller is using this s**house of a company and just like Blundells they are managed by the CHUCKLE BROTHERS.
Blundells have aimed for w/c 18th for moving I find out Wednesday by talking to my own solicitor that my seller has no Mortgage offer in place for onward purchase.
Were discussing completion and move dates and there is no mortgage in place this is a joke.
Sellers solicitor and Blundells should be aware of this as there owned by the same company.I am still waiting since Wedensday for Blundells to come back to me from emails and left message.(Dawn area manger who clearly in wrong job)I have had to go around to seller to get to bottom of what the hells going on.
Where is the call to say there's an issue and theost upsetting and frustrating thing is this is our first time buying a home and it should be exciting and merobale but it's the worst experience I have ever been through from lack of customer service to the rude staff to lack of infomation coming from Blundells it always myself chasing and why should you have to get to the point of exploding to get anywhere.
I'm confident that no-one will give a dam about this review from the company or even get a reply.
I have also tired to call the complaints line as Im getting nowhere fast and yes you guess it no awnser tjist a voicemail and yes you guessed again no response since Thursday this week from voicemails left.
But I'll let them off as if my experience is anything to go by they will have tons to work thorough.
