When I was in debt I felt trapped and alone. Everything changed when I called a fisher and associates because they went over the best option to get rid of all of my debts which was a consumer proposal. My life is easier now because of the help from a fisher and associates and paying off my consumer proposal I feel free and I can stand on my own two feet financially and it feels great.

This company operates in an extremely unprofessional manner. They initially offer attractive solutions, even recording a session assuring me that my $600 monthly payment for the consumer proposal application would be accepted by creditors. However, when the proposal was rejected, they offered no protection or fair alternative. Instead, they demanded that I raise the monthly payment to $900, which was completely outside my budget.

They do not clearly disclose that the monthly fees are primarily allocated to creditors, and they continually provide vague updates claiming that the process is “in progress.” Follow-ups are met with unclear responses, eventually stating that the request was denied and that they no longer provide debt consolidation services. Attempts to obtain a refund are deflected, with the company insisting the fees cover their service—even though they failed to deliver on their promises.

In short, this company is dishonest and not working in the customer’s interest. They simply collect fees from unsuccessful applications. Their practices are misleading, and their promises rarely match reality. I strongly caution anyone considering their services to explore alternative options.

Misleading, Unfair, and Exploitative Bankruptcy Trustee
I regret ever trusting this firm with my bankruptcy. I was promised from the start that my monthly surplus payment would be $225 — and I based my budget and planning around that. I later got a temporary job for a few months, and when I was terminated and began receiving EI, I contacted the trustee immediately. I was shocked when they demanded over $1000 from my limited EI income, claiming I had been moved to a 21-month surplus repayment plan — something I was never clearly informed of, nor did I agree to.

They never provided proper written notice of this change, no updated budget review, and no chance to dispute or understand the new calculations. I was simply sent a link to pay a huge amount of money I cannot afford. This is not only misleading — it feels predatory. I kept my end of the agreement, reported all income changes, and acted in good faith. They used my temporary job as an excuse to squeeze money from me now that I’m unemployed again.

This trustee firm is supposed to help people rebuild, not punish them for trying to work and get back on their feet. I strongly advise others to stay away and choose a firm that will actually communicate, act ethically, and follow the bankruptcy rules in Canada.

While they might know debt consolidation or proposal they don't provide the correct information. I was advise to sell my stock investment aa the bank could go after that and that osap i could not receive once i files. This information was not properly provided and lead me to make bad decisions

The COVID-19 pandemic made a mess of my life as my job required me to work in the sky and all flights were grounded. I reached out to A Fisher and Associates for help. It started with an agent - Christy A who took the time to call me and talk to me about my financial situation in February 2022. Christy was fabulous. I will always remember her for her kindness and professionalism. After agreeing to the assistance and finalizing the proposal, a lady called Orla C helped me. Thank you Orla for taking the time to call me and discuss everything I would be signing in to. Over the last 3 years, I have had people like Suzette S, Monira B, Hibbat W and Ryan K all promptly answer my questions and assist me. I can proudly say that 3 years later, I have paid off my proposal and I am debt free. I am eternally grateful to A Fisher and Associates and their crew for helping me get my life back. This was an excellent learning lesson where there are some things we should do only once in life and this was it. I was taught to better money manage and budget with the counselling sessions to be able to withstand any financial difficulty or even the next economic/pandemic crisis that may be coming ahead. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the A Fisher and Associates crew.

These people didn't care about what my situation was financially. They were simply administrators between our credit card holder and the CRA. They were no advocating for us an any way. They would not tell us how much they charged and continued to threaten that the Consumer Proposal would be cancelled if we did not pay. The term 'negotiation' is not familiar to them. I had to get a lawyer and now I'm safe and my solution was solved in one month. DO NOT WORK WITH THESE PEOPLE!!

I was told this is a dept consolidation. Not a bankruptcy

Now as time goes on I'm finding out one of my debts was not paid like they promised .They said it's just a consolidation loan, not a bankrupcy . Now every time i try to do something I'm registered as bankrupt . This pisses me off because I have income and I'm paying all my bills never missing a payment.

This company is trusted by the government, so for anyone that feels skeptical about the program, have no worries! Hope this helps anyone out there that also wants to get out of their debt
