The estate agents set this up for us ,straightforward and after we terminated our rental it was easy and straight forward ,and very quick to return what was owed to us .

The process was very simple and my deposit was returned quickly. There was an option to take the interest earnt on the deposit or give it to charity, which was good.

Will never use again

We inherited a property in Oct 25 where the tenants paid a deposit in 2015 but were still renting. We decided to sell in December and requested the return of the deposit to complete the sale.

After two emails to the DPS customer service we were told that due to GDPR rules all data was removed/deleted after 7 years. There is no evidence of the deposit being refunded. The customer service person dismissed us and just referred our claim back to the website, which gave no further details on reclaiming our deposit.

I will never use this company again and urge any further uses to make sure they are covered for long term tenants.



In accordance with GDPR rules all personal details of the deposit you are requesting information/documentation for have been removed.

I had a really positive experience…

I had a really positive experience dealing with Sandy at the Deposit Protection Service. I was unsure about parts of the deposit return process and had a few concerns, but Sandy took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I understood my options.

She was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful throughout. It made what could have been a stressful situation much easier to deal with.

Great customer service and support — thank you again, Sandy.

I’d give 0 stars if I could!!!
Absolutely awful service and company waited nearly four years for them to return my deposit!!! Then they didn’t even inform me they were doing so and have sent the money to an account I closed! WHY DIDNT YOU CONTACT ME FIRST!!! I’ve now lost that money due to shocking contact and awful service! I’m absolutely livid. Useless don’t use this conpany
