Had a drain blockage in January
Had a drain blockage in January, contacted the company to be answered by a very polite, professional gentleman. Very quick response time. Upon arriving the man who attending was very friendly, chatty and got on the job straight away. After being a bit unsure using a company I haven’t used before I can’t recommend them enough! Will be using them again if needed, thank you!

I called drain busters at 8am on…
I called drain busters at 8am on Thusday morning as I had a severely overflowing manhole with sewage and was unable to use any of the facilities at my property , a friendly and knowledgable gentleman arrived within 90 minutes as promised and cleared the blockage thoroughly , he also provided a cctv inspection free of charge to confirm the condition of our drainage system after the blockage was cleared . We were left free flowing very quickly . Will definitely use Drainbusters if ever needed in the future . Highly recommend

1 star is too much!
1 star is too much!! Please DO NOT use this company! Will force you to pay extortionate prices and then not do the job to a satisfactory standard! Spent £600 for 45 mins and they made the blockage worse! Refused to come back and put it right, everybody you speak to is exceptionally rude and dismissive! Very unprofessional! Steer clear!!
The reply below says pretty much everything you need to know. £474+ VAT = very nearly £600 no socks/wet wipes were found.
We were not shown a clear blockage and have evidence from those who came to actually fix the problem. We called several times and were palmed off with a ‘we will call you back’ never once received a call back.
We will see you in a small claims court with our evidence.

We are shocked and saddened to see this review, On a closer look into the job details, you contacted us for a blocked outdoor drain. However, whilst on-site, it was identified that there was a blocked internal stack pipe with fats, wet wipes and two socks, causing the toilets to block. Unfortunately, when drains are abused in this manner the clearance can take longer than expected. After this was unblocked further investigation revealed you had a cracked pipe in the drainage system and the engineer subsequently shown this to you on our cctv camera and explained how to rectify this situation, you declined due to the calculations on the bill already having accumulated 1 hour of charges plus a descale due to excessively large fat build up due to low maintenance of the drains. The charges now stood at £474 + vat, not the £600 as you said, hence why you say you had to get another company in, if you require free flowing working drains you would have to proceed with the repairs of the cracked pipe, otherwise blockages would continue to appear in the future as an obstruction is in the line, as you were warned by the engineer.
All of our rates were clearly quoted on the initial call and whilst on-site and you were in agreement to our charges. The drains were thoroughly cleared upon completion and you were advised that in order to keep your drains in good working order, please avoid pouring fats, wet wipes and other obstructions within the drainage system. We are sorry that on this occasion you were left dissatisfied by our service. If you would like to discuss this matter further, then please contact our customer services team on 0800 233 6767.

Extortionate charge for no result
Same as all the other reviews. £233 for 25 mins work and did not fix anything. Nice guys quickly getting you to sign your life away. Turn up in an old Dynorod van!!
I was conned....let this be a warning to anyone else.
DO NOT USE THEM unless you don't mind paying 3x the going rate....for nothing.
They even took a part I lent them!

We are sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction. A member of our customer services team discussed our rates of service with you at the initial booking stage over the recorded telephone call. Our engineers were on-site for 1 hour and you were charged in accordance with our rates that you agreed to a second time after agreeing to the initial telephone call, you have to sign the paperwork before work starts, agreeing to our rates 2 times before work starting is a commitment from your side that unfortunately can not be reversed once the drain has been unblocked regardless on the length of drain, you were not obliged to use our services. Unfortunately, due to abuse of the system by fats being put down the drains, high pressure jetting was necessary to be carried out. This method successfully cleared the drains upon completion.
We think using the words (CON) VICTIM?! is a little bit unnecessary as your drains were unblocked with your authorisation, using our standard charges of £297 +vat for 1 hours jetting and labour which was required in this instance.
we have successfully unblocked thousands of drains and are really concerned about this review as we pride ourselves on hard work and are committed to providing the best possible services for our customers.

Wish I had read the reviews before I engaged this firm to unblock my toilet pipe.
I was told an operative would attend the next morning. No time given but he would ring beforehand. He rang and said, "satnav says 25 minutes." He actually arrived around an hour later. "Stopped to get coffee!"
Having told him the problem, that the blockage was in the pipe inside the house he sent his cctv unit up the pipe, but it only got as far as the first bend and wouldn't go any further. He then sent the pressure washer up which just went straight up the vent pipe, and not near the blockage. He said he would have to come back with some sulphuric acid and a second person and would be able to clear it. This was Thursday, but he couldn't attend until 0800 Monday (today).
At 0930 I rang to find out when he would arrive. He apparently passed the job off to someone else, but nobody rang to tell me they would not be there for 0800. I was then told it would be after 4pm. I said I was not impressed as the company did not deliver what they promise on their website, to which he replied it was my fault that the camera and jet washer wouldn't go through the pipe!
I told him to cancel and I would go elsewhere. He replied, "I wouldn't come back anyway!"
So that is Drain Busters customer service. Absolute rubbish!

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, although we are truly shocked to receive this, after looking into this job, the engineer spent under a hour at your property and you have been charged £0 and after speaking to the engineer he done his best to try to get your blockage unblocked, he tried everything he had physically available to him on the day, he says it’s down to your system not being correctly installed many years ago, by some unprofessionals.
Your upstairs attic toilet has been installed DIY on pipework with no fall on it whatsoever with no access, the engineer turned up jets outside by the rodding eye the jetter come out the top of stack because that’s how someone has put pipework together connected the rodding eye to the vent! (Cow boys) Not the pipework from the toilet.
Customer got rude so engineer declined the offer of returning and advised to get someone else to come back

Absolute con men. Totally incompetent. Didn't solve the blockage but pushed it to our neighbours. Then charged £356 for 45 minutes after they had quoted £45 for each half an hour. I've still got blocked drains!
Do not go near these people!
Edit: An engineer from Southern Water came out and absolute laughed at the suggestion that this was a two men job. It took him less than 10 minutes to find the problem and solve it. He confirmed that the cost I was charge and the service I had received from Drain Busters was ludicrous.

high pressure jetting was necessary to be carried out. This method successfully cleared the drains on your side, but there was still a blockage further down stream, so our engineer kindly told you to call the water board as friendly advice as this had now fallen of your boundary.
we are a small family run business and have been unblocking 1000"s of drains successfully for many years, our 2 men labour and van and all the equipment doesn't come for free, its very expensive equipment as it has the latest up to date technology.
We think using the words (CON) ( INCOMPETANT) is a little bit unnecessary as we only acted on you say so, using our standard charges of £297 +vat for 1 hours jetting and labour which was required in this instance.

Absolute NO from me...
Incompetent isn't the word. I paid £250 plus additional costs caused by this company.
Their job was to unblock a drain which served my kitchen sink and dishwasher. Guy turned up and refused to try rodding the drain (it was apparently never going to work) so he jetted the drain (flooding my boiler as the water went straight up the overflow pipe), and then told me after sticking his camera in the drain that it had collapsed, then quoted me £2,000 + VAT to fix it.
I contacted my Housing Association who sent out Metro-Rod, who used a plunger and 10 minutes later I've got a clear running drain.
Cost me £350 all in for them to diagnose a collapsed drain that didn't exist, and if they'd done the job properly it would have been £44.50 + VAT for them to rod the drain as the second company did successfully.
I've sent several written complaints under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 as their work wasn't carried out with reasonable skill or care, still waiting for anyone to reply so my next step is small claims court.
Don't bother trying to get anyone to commit to talking to you, 'Hope' who seems to be in charge of the operation told me 'you don't need no surnames' when I asked for hers.
I would strongly suggest not engaging this company, one of my phone calls where I explained (AGAIN) what my problem was, the call handler (who again wouldn't share her name) said 'oh, is that Victoria?', so clearly, as I'm not Victoria, I'm not alone.

Pam was only charged £89 for 1 hours labour and £118 for 1 hours jetting totalling £207 plus vat £248.40.
Engineer worked extremely hard and was jetting lots of black stones out the line, when Pam told the engineer to stop, as there was buckets and buckets of black stones coming out from the drain whilst the engineer was jetting, he could only assume the drain maybe had a partial callapse.
May I reiterate to anybody reading this, the engineer wrote on the invoice which is very transparent, (suspected callapse) due to the black stones, not as pam mentions we falsely diagnosed a callapse drain, this is not true, and trust pilot should allow us to prove this by providing our invoice to them.

I arrived on cite to find a blocked drain, we attempted to firstly use our rods to unblock the drain, which was unsuccessful, due the amount of black stones in the line. We then proceeded to use our high pressure water jetter, we then quickly realised that this system had been very poorly installed (cow boys) and did not meet the requirements of the Uk’s safety standards. The condensate pipe from the boiler was installed directly into a 4 inch clay pipe. Against the law, anybody who knows plumbing knows this is not how you install any boiler or connect a boiler condenser to a 4 inch drainage system, hence why flooding is mentioned in the above review.
Continuation from engineer’
The customer told me me it runs under the house which is why I jetted the line,
I also had a backwards jet on a 3/8 hose. No way that’s going in a condensate pipe from the 4 inch line.
Ultimately this review is unfair, untrue, and does not represent a true experience, but I’ll leave it to the people to decide.
