I love my sectional, and the DreamSofa customer service has been great.

Customer Service works really hard, but the sofa is a disappointment. Wrinkling in the fabric from the first day, and apparently it rubs on dark clothing, as there are dark specs all over the light fabric.

On top of that, I made a mistake. As a 65 year old, I didn't realize I can't lie down on a sofa and get comfortable. In fact, I find my back hurts after trying.

So I decided to return the sofa, something Dream Sofa offers and was a compelling reason for me to try a sofa I couldn't sit on first.

That's the real reason for the review --- their return policy. Deceptive. They charge for the return, which is not clearly articulated up front, in addition to the restocking fee. That means the return costs almost the same as the sofa itself. So I'm giving away a brand new sofa that doesn't work for me.

Highly recommend you work with another company.


My mission to purchase new furniture began this past May. Initially, I ordered a sofa from one of Dream Sofa’s competitors. Quite frankly there is no competition. The Sofa that I got would not have lasted six months. It was of cheap quality and poorly constructed. A friend of mine recommended Dream Sofa so I did some research and decided to order a sofa and matching accent chair from them. I would like to say that this furniture is of highest-quality, beautiful and extremely comfortable.

I want to believe Dream Sofa is a rather young company as it does not perform like a well oiled machine sometimes. First of all they are located in California. In order to successfully reach someone directly by phone, it is best to call later in the day if you live on the East Coast. You need to be persistent and continue to call back otherwise your efforts are quite futile.
Dream Sofa boasts a 4 to 6 week turnaround with an additional two weeks in the event problems arise. I ordered my furniture from them at the end of July, finally receiving it the first week in October. I can’t tell you how many times I contacted them frustrated and disappointed. There were no issues other than a late delivery. Other companies would have said, so sorry for your inconvenience and leave it at that. My contact person, Karla, and any other team members that I worked with were of course apologetic but also recognized that they were in the wrong and promptly put together a compensation package for me. This was totally unexpected and very much appreciated, not just for monetary reasons but for the fact they really do care and want you to be thoroughly satisfied with their product.
Again, I would like to stress that through it all I believe that the wait was definitely worth it. I have beautiful furniture that I believe will last much longer than I will and if you are lucky enough to work with Karla, you will be more than pleased with the total outcome. I know I am!

We ordered the James sectional, and this is a phenomenal piece of furniture!!! The quality of this sectional is unmatched. Karla's customer service was amazing, she was attentive in her communication and paid attention to every detail of our messages to her. We would recommend DreamSofa everytime and are very appreciative of our experience with Karla.

DreamSofa has been an absolute DREAM to work with! Karla from the customer care team and Ryan from the design team have both been amazing! They have gone above and beyond to help me! This type of customer service in this day and age is unprecedented! I highly recommend this company. I ordered two sofas from them and they are beautiful and the quality is amazing!

The sofa is five stars but you can take that with a grain of salt because my old sofa was objectively awful. The Dream Sofa is comfortable and appears to be of good quality. What keeps the overall experience from being five star is customer service (2/5) and shipping (0/5). You will have to be your own customer service. They do not contact you as your item progresses through production. They do not update the order page. Mine still says "processing" to this day. They do respond to emails, which is nice, but it appears that they are putting out fires rather than providing excellent customer service. Their website says it will take a month to make your sofa. Mine took two months and there was nothing fancy about it. Nothing custom. Dream Sofa said that they were shipping my sofa "urgent rush" and it will be delivered in 2-3 weeks. Mine took four. The shipper was in no hurry, so it would have taken even longer if I hadn't made a stink. In fact, I think my sofa would still be in the Dream Sofa warehouse had I not been persistent. Dream Sofa would be wise to hire more staff or update their website with realistic deadlines as it seems they aren't able to effectively handle the number of orders they are receiving.

Frankly, my custom sofa order was mismanaged through much of the process, and once we received the final product, it did not fully meet expectations. While the sofa itself is definitely a quality product, several dimensions were not as designed/represented.

Fortunately, Customer Service agent Karla stepped in to help negotiate a satisfactory end result. Karla was polite, courteous and maintained excellent communications.

Although there are a few tweaks I would have liked to our custom sofa, I do believe that DreamSofa builds a quality product and takes their customer satisfaction guarantee seriously.

The sofa arrived well packed and in perfect condition. The fabric is derby ash. The sofa is high quality and would cost $1000 to $1500 more locally plus tax. I also upgraded to plush
cushions for longevity. They are comfortable and will only get better with break in. Thanks Dream sofa.

We recently purchased a Messina sectional sleeper from DREAMSOFA, an option among the many interesting sofa design choices. Our sofa is beautiful and so comfy! The service at DREAMSOFA was superior from start to finish. I worked with Marissa (over an extended period of time) to find the perfect fabric that would fit our home-vibe. She was always kind and responsive, and it was obvious she has a deep artistic sensibility. I spoke with other DREAMSOFA representatives who also were very responsive to my questions. The premium “white glove” delivery team was very efficient getting the sofa through the small door and set up in no time. Thank you DREAMSOFA for a superior experience and product!

I ordered a London Sectional, and bought with the idea of having it for life in mind. First off, the couch is wonderful. More comfortable than expected, super high build quality, and the fabric is plush and durable with my pup.

Most importantly, though, was the delivery was extremely tricky. I live in an older building, tight staircases, small freight elevators and doors. Despite this, and a difficult delivery company (separate from DreamSofa), Karla handled everything on her end wonderfully. What could have turned into a nightmare was just the opposite with her in charge. Every company needs someone like her. She's super dedicated, professional, and a master of customer service, keeping me informed at every step.

Incredibly pleased with my purchase! I ordered the Brussels sectional sleeper sofa with Sorrento Denim upholstery and have never been more impressed with the quality. It even smells like fresh cut wood from the frame. I am really glad I gave this company a try and I hope to hold on to this couch for many years to come.

Sharing our experience to give buyers more confidence in working with Dream Sofa.

We were having challenges finding the perfect sectional for our new living room. Everything we found was too big, too small, or crappy quality. Then, I read some people talking about Dream Sofa on Reddit. I went to their website and the amount of options and customizations seemed too good to be true. Custom sizing and a gazillion custom fabrics. Not to mention the option of high-density foam or spring cushions that last much longer. Prices were not cheap but they were not out of line with other quality furniture stores that don't offer nearly the same amount of customization.

We were apprehensive spending as much as we did with a store we never heard of or visited, but saw enough rave reviews that we gave it a shot.

We mainly worked with Marissa and Ryan who were both fantastic. Everything came exactly as described. The sofa is super high quality, and the fabric is amazing (Hepburn Pottery). We had some anxiety between order and delivery, but that was just worry over nothing when the piece showed up, and it was gorgeous.

Being able to customize our sectional to our exact liking was so much fun. I'd recommend and work with them again.

I highly recommend Dream Sofa for your new furniture. The quality of the construction and the firmness of the cushions are exceptional. Dream Sofa I will be recommending to anyone and everyone that is in the market for new furniture.

The entire process from ordering to final delivery was seamless and exceptional. The White Glove Delivery was even better than competitors like Lay Z Boy. I highly recommend continuing to use the delivery service.
I purchased the “Chicago” sofa in Lana Peacock Fabric. It is pretty much cat hair proof!

Review is for a custom Brussels sectional. This sofa is beautiful and absolutely worth the wait associated with having furniture built to order.

We had the pleasure of working with Ryan and Karla. Their design team sent a selection of materials based on photos of the space, decor we were planning, and the sofa we were replacing.

I highly recommend spending the extra money for the spring core cushions. I have little doubt this couch will still be comfortable and in good shape 8-10 years from now. When I compare the sofa we received with similarly priced options from traditional furniture retailers, I am blown away at what DreamSofa delivered. This is not simply another direct to consumer brand cutting costs by selling direct; they take quality seriously and have actually tested the hundreds of materials they offer. Construction is sound and sturdy, delivery was much faster than promised in my case (I'm not terribly far from LA).

I think the secret has gotten out about this company and they are REALLY busy, but if you are patient and don't mind a bit of back and forth during design and ordering, it is really worth the time. Our sofa is the showpiece of our living room and really makes our home feel special.

The website doesn't emphasize this, but you can customize the depth of the seating - in the case of the Brussels, I highly recommend this if you will be lounging on the couch.

Amazing experience from start to finish. I should thank Jeff from insidersguidetofurniture.com for introducing me to Dreamsofa. He wrote an excellent guide in his blog. We wanted a U Shaped sectional and I searched for almost a month but was not able to find anything which was perfect for our living room. Either the price was too high or the dimensions were useless. When I read about Dreamsofa on the blog and how they make custom sofa in the US and that too in a reasonable price compared to every other brand sofa, I decided to try this. I contacted Ryan and he explained the process to me and setup a design call. I had ordered the free swatches before the call. I had a very nice conversation with Marissa on the design call. We discussed on the dimensions, the style, and color. She also saw how our living room space looked and suggested what would go well. The best part about dreamsofa is that you can potentially customize every aspect of your sofa, not just the length and width, but also seat depth, height, and there are tons of fabric options. So I ordered for the exact dimensions I needed for my living room. Both Ryan and Marissa were really helpful throughout the process. After ordering, it took about 2 months for it too reach my home. We had the white glove delivery so they unpacked and placed it exactly where I wanted. The only drawback is that the manufacturing process is time taking. But to be fair, they meticulously design your sofa to the exact details you provide and there is not going to be another sofa on the planet with the same specifications as yours. So I'm really happy about the process overall and I would never have found a better sofa online or in a store that would look better in my living room. I would recommend anyone who is looking for a customized experience to look no further than dreamsofa.

One of the legs were broken during the shipping I guess and there were a few scuffs, scratches on three other legs. I contacted Karla from the customer service team and she promptly send me the 4 replacement legs and I got them within a week. So I would rate customer service 5 star as well.

Only one thing I cannot review yet is how the sofa cushions perform over time. But they do have a good warranty and cushion replacement options.

My dream DreamSofa arrived yesterday and I couldn't be happier. The entire experience was perfect, from my initial consultation with Marissa, to timely order updates from Veronica, to resolution of a small delivery issue by Karla. Their product, in my case the Dover sleeper sofa, is first class, and their customer service is exemplary. Do not hesitate to do business with this company.

We ordered the custom made Bordeaux Sectional in Royal Eclipse in Plush - Medium-Firm. It is the most elegant and stylish sofa we've ever seen, as well extremely comfortable! The quality of the sofa is amazing.
I would also like to give a big shout out to the Customer Service staff who went above and beyond to ensure that we received our sofa in a time manner. Customer Care managers oversaw our delivery every step of the way to ensure that it was expedited every step of the way. They were always very friendly and helpful over email and phone.
The entire DreamSofa staff went above and beyond to ensure that we were pleased with the customer service and quality of the sofa that we received, which is hard to find these days. For that I thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

We ordered the 70” Cannes Sofa Sleeper in Catalina Silver about a week after Thanksgiving 2023 and our order was delivered on 2/2/24. Given the holidays I was not troubled by that slightly longer than promised timeframe. I ordered “the wave/medium” comfort cushions, the full luxe bed with luxe mattress. The couch is great, so high quality and the color/fabric was exactly as the swatch we chose. The cushions are firm (what we wanted) and perfect for a home office that will rarely but sometimes be used for an extra guest bedroom. I dealt with Marissa for the order, Veronica on the delivery and Karla at the end. All three were very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. We had a slight concern over the luxe mattress (an upgrade) not being as comfortable as we had hoped. Karla suggested letting the mattress be open for 24 hours to puff up a bit and I do think it helped. She was also nice enough to ship a mattress topper to alleviate our concerns. If the bed portion of the sofa is a concern, you might go one more level up. I think with the topper and a plush mattress pad it will be fine considering it will only be used a few times a year anyway. I wouldn’t hesitate to order from Dream Sofa again!
