There is only one reason to sign up, download an app and record your driving data - it's to get the promise of cheaper insurance quotes. This review gets a two-star rating to indicate that technically, the app was very good - simple to use and seemed to work perfectly. I was very happy to have a score of 922 out of 1000 across 500+ miles of driving. But, you can probably see the problem ... it came to crunch time, I entered all my details to retrieve an insurance quote and the cheapest quote is £100 more expensive than the cheapest quote I received from mainstream car insurance comparison sites. Also, the top 4 quotes were from the same company ... a pattern repeated as you go down the list. So its simple, when DriveScore are able to get better deals with more providers, this may be a great service, but as of now it's a colossal waste of time.

App works ok. Biggest problem is that you are bombarded with emails, sometimes 3 a day. If it carries on like it I will definitely remove app

Hate that you get penalised for braking hard when a pedestrian steps out in front of you !

I have a score of 993 never been below 987. Nearly 12 months using this so my insurance is coming up for renewal soon so I used this to get quotes. All I can say when getting them that this app and the score makes absolutely no difference to reducing prices. They were over £100 higher with Drive Score so I'll be removing the app.

Since I have had the app I think my driving has improved, I didn't think it was bad before but as I try to improve my score I think it has given me the incentive to keep trying

Drive score is a great app , helped get a lower insurance quote , it just works in the back ground so you forget it’s there until you go in check your score . Great to look back on your and understand what may have happened at a certain point on your journey .

Good insights into your driving skills and highlights areas that you may normally ignore. Very useful tool.

Consequently, the rationale behind sharing data through this application remains unclear.

Been using for about 2 months. So far very accurately calculated. Good returns on car insurance quotes. Easy to set up and tracks very well. Very user friendly.

The most useful aspect of Drive Score is saving money, firstly on car insurance as a reward for economy driving style, and secondly spending less on fuel, partly from more mpg and partly from following the guide to lowest local pump prices. The real bottom line is the domino effect of safety and lifesaving through defensive driving where necessary, which is a lot easier when you have plenty of power in reserve instead of racing. I challenge Tesla FSD to get a perfect score, which in theory should be easy for a machine with better sensors and faster reaction time than humans.
