My baby alpaca blankets is so soft and…
My baby alpaca blankets is so soft and cozy that I ordered 5 of them as Christmas gifts. Ordering was smooth and I received them quickly. I love this company and will definitely order more in the future.

Not alpaca wool! Plastic mix
Not alpaca wool! I spent a lot of money on a blanket and it came smelling HEAVILY of chemicals. I have a lot of experience with alpaca wool and this is NOT what was advertised at all..I purchased this as a Christmas gift and it was NOT CHEAP. This product is mixed with plastics!!! I am very disappointed and upset. The reviews on here do not reflect the quality of the product nor the honesty of the company!

Resposta da Ecualama
Hi there — I’m really sorry your gift experience felt disappointing. Thank you for telling us so we can fix it.
I’ve checked the item you purchased and it’s our 100% llama wool blanket (not alpaca). It’s hand-woven by our partner artisans in Ecuador and contains no synthetic fibers or acrylic. Llama and alpaca are both camelid fibers, but they feel a bit different: llama is a touch more robust, while baby alpaca is extra silky.
About the smell you noticed: natural animal fibers can carry a distinct scent when they’ve been sealed for a long journey. Wool fibers contain natural oils/waxes (often referred to as lanolin). Llama fiber has very little compared with sheep’s wool, but when any natural oils are concentrated inside a sealed bag, some people perceive the first whiff as sharp or even “gasoline-like.” That’s a normal, temporary odor from the fiber’s natural oils—not plastics or chemical softeners—and it clears quickly with a little care:
• Air it out 24–48 hours in a dry, shaded place.
• Light steam or a cool iron through a pressing cloth helps.
• Optional: a gentle cold-water soak with a wool-safe soap, then lay flat to dry (no fabric softener).
Your trust matters more than any explanation. If the blanket isn’t what you hoped for, we’ll make it right. Please email us here with your order number to info@ecualama.com and we’ll sort everything for you promptly.
We stand behind our artisans and materials, and we want you to feel great about both the quality and the story behind your purchase. Thank you for giving us the chance to make this right.

Absolutely exceptional store!
Their products are of superb quality, comfort and style.
I received a queen size blanket as a gift from Ecualama - fell in love with it and then bought a queen size blanket and a hat for my boyfriend this Christmas 🎄. They wrote my holiday wishes on a gorgeous postcard from Ecuador!
I was blown away 🤩.
They even sent me free bracelets, gloves and delicious chocolate- all hand crafted! Love your stuff!!!🫶🏻💋
Thank you so much for that 🥰

Nice to look at, but not very warm.
Due to vagaries in their website, I wound up buying 3 queen size blankets. The blankets are visually very pleasing, but they are so thin that their thermal characteristics are wanting. I would not buy another.

Resposta da Ecualama
Hi there—thank you for the honest feedback. I’m sorry for the confusion on our website and that the blankets didn’t feel as warm as you hoped.
This particular queen collection is woven to be lightweight and breathable for year-round use, which can read as “thin” compared to heavy winter bedding. If you’re after a winter-ready layer, our llama wool range have a denser construction that retains more heat.
We’d love to make this right and guide you to a warmer option that truly fits your needs. Please email us at info@ecualama.com with your order number — we’ll give you a tailored recommendation and extend a little thank-you for the trouble.
Every piece is hand-woven in Ecuador by our partner artisans, and your comfort matters as much as the craft. We appreciate the chance to earn back your trust.
Not 100% Alpaca , but still nice
fast delivery, lovely quality. Too bad it isn't 100% Alpaca for that price . But good design , a bit small for a 1.90m person =)
