Embark Pensions are a joke, takes weeks for any type of response and when you do get one they are crap…I’m actively looking to get away from these jokers.

Are they solvent?

Avoid dealing with this shambles. I genuinely wonder if they either have sufficient staff numbers to cope with the realisation of pensions or have very substantial cashflow problems and are effectively trading while insolvent.

Of course, there are some checks and balances that should be undertaken, but in the matter of trivial pension amounts (under £10,000), there is less complexity and most of the donkey work will have been done in the completion of paperwork for submission.

So, 6 weeks into the process and letters that claimed to have been sent by post have not materialised, cash has yet to appear in bank accounts and so on and so forth.

Anyway, I have filed complaint with the Compliance Team but have yet to receive acknowledgement of receipt.

Before entrusting your SIPP provider with your cash for investment, make enquiry on the status for the trustee - should it include Embark, think twice

Attempted to withdraw from this company…

Attempted to withdraw from this company (basically they were charging me an annual fee just to hold a bank account). Was told this was OK and I wouldn't be charged for the subsequent year. They charged me for the subsequent year. As everyone else is also giving them one star, I guess they don't actually have any interest in customer service or feedback.

I can only concur with previous reviews. Embark and its staffs are the worst, company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Unfortunately I have deal with Embark as it is responsible for looking after my SIPP scheme. My financial advisor has been trying to get the cash portion of this scheme to invest elsewhere, and for me to draw a lump sum since JAN this year. As I write the money has finally appeared.
Im convinced that Embark trains its staff to delay dealing with customers and requests at ALL COSTS. They use various tactics including lost paperwork, previous contacts unavailable, weeks to reply to requests, and fictitious VAT problems at the 11th hour.
Many of the staff are evasive, rude, and seem to have no empathy. They don’t realise, or care maybe, that they are dealing with people and their finances.
It got that bad in September that Embark admitted that I had been mistreated. They told my advisor i would receive a hamper by way of apology. Guess what? It never turned up !!! This represents the company’s philosophy of not caring about its customers.
I would advise people starting out not to deal with Embark without a financial advisor. My advisor says that Embark are the most unprofessional and frustrating financial company he has ever dealt with.

Awful Service

I have just dealt with Sarah on the administration team, after being cut off from Zoe. Sarah said Zoe 'wasn't in today' so I had to go through all the security info again to gain access to the account and pick up where I was with Zoe.

Anyway, I came here to say that we have been dealing with Embark for a number of years now both pre and post the acquisition by Lloyds and I can categorically say that Embark are the worst company in the entire financial services industry to deal with. They are incompetent and downright lazy.

If I could put 0 stars I would.

Dreadful company

My pension platform (Nutmeg) uses this sham of a company for administration, they are the worst company I've ever had to deal with, incompetent and appallingly slow right from the off, so much so that I moved away from Nutmeg and moved to a company who use their own in-house administration.
Stay away if you value your hard earned money being safe.

Incompetent, disorganised and total amateurs. the very worst in financial services.

Firstly, I like to say there is no way in the World that I would recommend Embark Pensions to anyone. They really do not care about customer service and are very happy to go along without even doing the basics.
It took them months to get my funds transferred to me when it should of been a matter of days or a couple of weeks at the most. Even then some of the funds where delayed and I'm still waiting now. It has now got to the stage where a formal complaint will be raised.
I cannot be more dissatisfied with Embark Pensions and would offer less than a one star review if I could.

Embark pensions is the most incompetent…

Embark pensions is the most incompetent pension company I have ever dealt with. My substantial pension funds have been greatly reduced by their incompetent actions. Their staff either delay or ignore any requests you make, their reason! to remove your hard earned funds at their convenience.
You would make more money with your pension investment if you put it in a bag and threw it in a waste bin. They managed to reduce our fund by more than half, that was without investing, just watching over it.
Would it be possible I would have given them a negative score.

Appalling customer service.

Appalling customer service.

My call is important to them, yet for over forty minutes I've been exactly the same number in the queue. Which tells me that they have absolutely no customer service staff working on a Friday afternoon.
