We booked for an exam for Tuesday, were told they didn’t have a venue for it on the day and to come Wednesday, the results did not come out until the following Wednesday, the reason given was that the results were too good and there was a review, so keep in mind if you have a strict timeline, because we lost a great opportunity because of this. I personally wouldn’t use them again in zimbabwe, maybe if you’re in the Uk it’s a better experience.

I am writing this detailed account to warn others and to counter any attempt by this company to dispute my genuine experience.

I paid this company £206 on 4th Dec 2025 for a SELT B1 test scheduled for 12th Dec—a test that costs only £150 when booked directly through LanguageCert. I paid a premium for what I thought would be a professional service; instead, I received a month of lies and missed visa deadlines. What followed was a masterclass in unprofessionalism.

The Timeline of Failures:

4th Dec: Booked and paid £206 for a 12th Dec test date. Received email confirmation.

11th Dec (The day before my test): They messaged saying they couldn't fulfill the booking due to "high demand" and offered 3rd Jan instead. I accepted to keep my visa process moving.

17th Dec - 2nd Jan: I repeatedly chased for the 3rd Jan confirmation. They replied “We will do” but sent nothing.

3rd Jan (The day of the rescheduled test): They messaged saying: “We are extremely sorry that we could not confirm your test for today.” They promised a call that afternoon to reorganize. That call never happened.

5th - 6th Jan: I begged for a date or a refund as my ILR visa application was at risk. We spoke about my preferred test dates. They promised a confirmation by midnight on the 6th. Again, nothing was sent.

7th Jan: I officially requested a full refund. No response.

12th Jan: I followed up and they had the audacity to reply: “Please explain.” I sent a formal final demand. They replied “Thank you.”

13th Jan: They messaged: “Keep an eye on your email today for the refund confirmation.” No email arrived.

14th Jan: I asked for proof of the refund. They have since ignored me.

This company is a middleman that takes your money, fails to book the tests, and then plays games with your refund. They have no regard for the fact that people’s lives and visa statuses (ILR) are on the line. I had to pay again to book directly with LanguageCert,org (where everything went perfectly) just to save my visa application. English Exam Centre has now had my money for over 40 days without providing a service or a refund.

I have kept a full log of our WhatsApp history to prove these facts and to provide to Trustpilot and my bank as evidence. If you value your time, money, and visa status, book elsewhere.

English Exam Centre: Do not dispute this. Instead, return my £206 immediately.

I passed the exam and I enjoyed it even though the location is in the heart of London so it is centers to all the tester and the staffs welcomes you.

The experience in the building was superb. Everything went as it should but I went through pains getting my booking confirmed and I had to following before getting the result. They need to tighten those pieces.

The way l was welcomed,and the way everything was explained to me.It made me feel comfortable and confident that l was going to make it.

We booked a SELT English test and paid £210.00 as we urgently needed the result for ukvi visa application. One day before the test (at 8 pm) after several calls from our side, they cancelled the test only to offer a reschedule a week after.. Customer service was agresive and unhelpful, threating us to book somewhere else if we are not happy with the reschedule. This seems likena tactic to attract urgent bookings and then delay on purpose. Strongly recommend to avoid this company as they are completely unreliable and unprofessional.

Everything was OK

I took my A1 Speaking and Listening test and it was a really positive experience. The examiners were friendly and made the conversation feel natural, not stressful at all. The centre was well-organised, everything ran smoothly,
