The English Grocer Avaliações 

Ordered more than 20 days ago, paid immediately via credit card, no confirmation of received payment, no status updates, no delivery. Wrote 2 times to customer service (via chat and email) to get updates, no answer. Disappeared.

Update 26/09/2023: after a couple of email exchanges, now parcel is finally on its way. They definitely need to improve the communication process with the customer (maybe automatic and prompt notifications on the status of the order could help), but at least they acknowledged the disservice and apologised for it. I'm now eager to taste my order.

The seller answers emails with delay, he promised a new delivery date but nothing happened. I have ordered from this seller before with no problem and I do not understand why the quality of the service degraded since the last time I have ordered.

UPDATE:
looks like the order has been shipped. I don't have an issue with delays, it is a widespread problem these days but I think the seller can improve the communication with clients: reply faster to e-mails and give more realistic timelines for the delivery.

If it is all good with the order I would order from this seller again.

We placed an order at the end of May and still have not received it. We have sent many e mails and still have not received our order. We do not recommend this company.

Good range of products (including Dorset Tea!).
There were some problems with the courier, but the company was very helpful in resolving them, so still five stars.

Received my sausages nice and chilled overnight - great service!

Ich habe schottisches Bier bestellt und nie erhalten. Geld bezahlt und bekomme auf meine Mails keine Antwort! Wenn ihr Geld verlieren wollt, die richtige Adresse!
Update... 1.5 Monate später, immer noch nichts. Die Mails wurden nach meiner Bewertung beantwortet und 4 Flaschen zusätzlich innerhalb 1 Woche versprochen. Jetzt wieder keine Antwort auf meine Mails.... Abzocke!

From the moment the order was placed there were problems.
The company was initially very good to respond when I requested additional items to be added to the order and obviously happy to take extra money.
That's where the good experience ended.
The order then took over 2 months to get to me.
They couldn't even get my address correct and blamed the delivery company.
After speaking directly with the delivery company it became apparent that it wasn't their fault but lay firmly with the 'englishgrocer'.
Eventually, when the delivery arrived half of the items were spoilt and were inedible. Items were also missing or replaced with cheaper items.
After numerous attempts at contacting them, they have been continuously evasive, blaming many reasons why they couldn't issue the refund, they have now stopped replying to my emails.
They are an unscrupulous, untrustworthy company that should not be allowed to continue trading.
I recommend anyone stay away from them and order elsewhere.

We placed an order over one month ago and have not received our merchandise yet. The amount owed was charged to our credit card. The English Grocer has not been answering several e mails requesting an update. They do not answer the telephone number listed on their website.

I am really surprised this company is still going. After having a disaster at Christmas I am not using them anymore. Max made me feel like I was the only one who was having problems - obviously not. Do not waste your money- they don't deliver and, if they do ,things are missing or out of date. When I complained and asked for my money back they got very angry and wrote me nasty emails. Just awful.

My son has still not received his order in Switzerland after 2 months and it was meant to be for his birthday and they have had my monies which were debited out of my account straight away. They don't return emails or any contact

Stay away. Although TEG has a great potential market, they are incapable of running a business. Unanswered emails, incomplete deliveries, delayed delivery and on the whole , dishonest. When paying by credit card, they debit your card before having any product to ship! After several weeks in spite of promised delivery, "zilch,nada, nothing"
I informed them that I was requesting a chargeback through a complaint via my credit card.
In view of the history you can read here on trust pilot, credit card companies should remove their facilities.

Following the change of ops team I received finally my order and the customer service really improved. Product arrived in order :)

Ordered in October 2022 after I complained more than once and asked when am I supposed to get my paid (91sfr) for goods.They fobbed me off each time and after my last mail sent in May 2023, they sent me yesterday three Pakets of dry soup and a bottle of sauce ‼️
Worst service ever.

Generally delivers, sometimes after months.
Only replies to emails when you write a bad review.

The only place where you can get some difficult-to-obtain English products when you live in Switzerland. This should be sufficient for a good rating but on top of that prices are correct and service efficient.

Friendly and helpful as always. Definitely recommend! It's a pleasure to support a family store. Will be shopping there again. Thank you and best wishes x
