Turks and Caicos Explorer II
I recently spent a week aboard the Turks and Caicos Explorer II, and overall, it was a memorable and positive experience. The diving was excellent, the crew was professional and attentive, and the food was absolutely outstanding—easily among the best I’ve had on any liveaboard. Thank you, Miguel, for meals that were creative, fresh, and consistently delicious!
The boat itself was comfortable and well-organized, and the dive schedule was full without feeling rushed. The staff worked incredibly hard to make the trip smooth and enjoyable. I really appreciated having Dee on board—she was particularly engaged and knowledgeable, and her expertise as a marine biologist was a real asset to the trip.
That said, while the service from the crew was top-notch, it was hard not to notice a disconnect between their professionalism and how they were spoken to—or about—by those in charge. It didn’t impact the logistics of the trip, but it did color the atmosphere in subtle and uncomfortable ways.
I’d definitely consider sailing with Explorer Ventures again for the diving and the crew—but I hope the company takes a closer look at how its management culture shows up on board.

Trip of a lifetime.
What an incredibly well run trip. I have just come away from a 14 day voyage on the Humbolt Explorer and am totally impressed by the whole experience.
The crew are outstanding, from the operation on the boat, preparing delicious food throughout the day, keeping the cabins spotles, manning the zodiac and helping on the dive deck.
The dive team were so skill full and knowledgeable. They kept us safe in the water and took us on some of the best dives I have experienced. Hammer heads, nudibranch, seal lions, marine iguanas, mobulas, mantas and whale sharks. It was a megafauna and mucrofauna extravaganza.
Thank you all for a trip of a lifetime.

The crew was great
The crew was great! The boat is old and outdated, rooms are very small. Only hot water for a shower and to brush your teeth, this is absurd! You need a air conditioned dining room so you can eat without sweat running down your back. I would not recommend!

The crew was fun and I enjoyed getting to know them, the food was amazing and they were very accommodating for dietary needs. The diving was amazing and we saw many beautiful reefs, sea life, and shipwrecks. The land tours were a nice cultural touch and the trip was well organized. I made many wonderful memories with charished friends.

The crew was superior
The crew was superior. The effort to give us a great experience was awesome. The dive guides, Ronnie and Victor were incredible. The little things too, like coming off a dive and having juice or a snack, warm towels, assistance with gear were amazing.

The dive masters did an excellent job…
The dive masters did an excellent job taking care of our needs not only on the water but also on the vessel with our cabins and everything. The food service was excellent and very delicious. Good variety of beverages with self service bar setup.

A Magical Galapagos Adventure
I spent a week on the Tiburon Explorer in the Galapagos this summer. It was truly an unforgettable experIence. The entire staff and dive masters were wonderful. I felt safe and well looked after both on board and while diving. The food and beverages were delicious. Our room was cleaned every day, and the boat was very comfortable. The crew even had a party for us at the end of the week. It was great fun! I highly recommend spending time on this boat and exploring the beauty of Galapagos.

Humbolt Explorer: Great trip except the the last day
Humbolt Explorer Galapagos: Great trip except the the last day. Great diving and boat staff.
EDIT: Explorer Adventures reached out. They explained that the restaurant should not have charged guests for staff meals as the staff are provided free meals from the restaurant. Basically the restaurant overcharged the guests and not the fault of Explorer Adventures. Changed review from 3 to 5 stars.
However on the last day, the staff arranged dinner on land. The staff invited their friends and when settling the bill, the guests were expected to pay for the entire staff and their friends dinner. No guest were notified before hand that the guests were expected to pay for the staff and their friends dinner and drinks. Every guests bill increased about 50% since we needed to pay for other people.
Explorer Ventures: If you actually read this. Please train your staff on setting proper expectations if guests are required to pay for staff (and their friends) dinner and drinks. At least notify guests they need to pay and not tell guests that when the credit card machine is in their face.

Excellent service by everyone from the Captain down to housekeeping staff. The diving spots were well selected and the dive guides were well-prepared and attentive and funny. The food was superb, and we had more than enough food and drinks. The boat was very clean and in good shape although our friends said that one of the cabins below deck had terrible fuel fumes forcing them to transfer rooms. The land tours were great, too. Overall a fantastic trip!

Tauchen auf den Galapagos ist unglaublich schön. Allerdings sind die Tauchgebiete um Wolf und Dawin kein Anfänger-Tauchgebiet! Auf unserer Tour waren von 15 Teilnehmer min. 5 Teilnehmer Tauchanfänger und weitere mit sehr geringer Taucherfahrung. ....Glück gehabt: Auf unserer Reise ist nichts passiert und die Tour musste nicht abgebrochen werden!

While it’s one of the most extraordinary dive destinations in the world, conditions can include strong currents and occasionally rough seas—especially around Wolf and Darwin. That’s why we provide clear pre-trip information about what to expect. While it’s ultimately up to each certified diver to decide whether the environment matches their skill and comfort level, we do recommend all divers have prior experience with similarly challenging dives.

Tiburon Dive to Wolf and Darwin…
Tiburon Dive to Wolf and Darwin Islands.
The staff on the Tiburon dive trip June 14-21 is fantastic! The two dive master, Kebin and Simon, are fantastic, knowledgeable, encouraging and safe. The boat crew did everything to make the trip enjoyable. Jerman and Salomon were everywhere helping us. The crew worked together so well and are a lot of fun.

Galápagos Islands Tiburon Explorer Boat. The crew was always attentive, helpful, and safety-conscious. They did their best to show us hundreds of hammerhead sharks and three whale sharks. Highly recommended!

Great Fun & Adventure on the CE2
Another great group charter in the Northern Caribbean with Captain Bob and an outstanding crew! We enjoyed some great diving and were treated to some amazing food aboard the CE2.
Really appreciated the ability to flex the itinerary based on conditions. Excellent communication from the Captain & Purser. Crew was professional and great fun to dive with! Good predive briefings with a focus on safety.
The crossing can be a bit sporty, but the adventure was well worth it. We highly recommend the Sint Maarten/St. Kitts route with Explorer Venturers!!
