Innovative products

The products - i use the vest since version 1 and he hydro 2 - are comfortable to wear and feel great. They do their job every time and are an essential part of my gear. The V2 is really better than the previous version.

Customer service, on the other hand, is not very helpful and can’t even answer simple questions about the store. The coupons aren’t valid for all countries and/or products. A note about customs would have been helpful—at first, I thought the email from the service provider was a scam attempt—that could be done much better and, above all, in a more customer-friendly way.

That aside - very good.

Terrible Experience - Avoid!

Thank you for your response to my review on 13/4.

The timeline actually reinforces my point, not yours. I purchased my first vest in 2021 and it failed within a year due to the zip and fasteners rusting shut. I raised this at the time and received the same explanation blaming “user care.”

I then purchased your “upgraded” version in 2022, and the exact same issue occurred again shortly after. That is two separate products failing in the same way, under normal use. That is not a one-off issue and it is not credible to attribute this to misuse.

On both occasions, the vest was cleaned and dried. More importantly, a running vest is specifically designed to be used while sweating. If the product cannot withstand that without critical components corroding to the point of failure, then the materials are simply not fit for purpose.

Relying on the fact that the orders are now several years old avoids the key issue: both products failed far earlier than any reasonable consumer would expect. The age of the order does not change the fact the products did not last.

After the second failure, I didn’t bother complaining again because the response was already clear. I continued using the vest by pulling it on like a t-shirt, as the zip had already rusted shut. The button then seized and has now completely failed.

What is most telling is that despite two identical failures, your position remains to deny any issue and place the blame on the customer, with no meaningful attempt to resolve it.

That speaks for itself.

Thank you for your second review.

For clarity, the orders referenced date back to 2021 and 2022. We have no record of either issue being raised with us within the relevant warranty period, and as several years have now passed, we’re unable to verify the timelines described.

You’ve stated that both items failed shortly after purchase. If this were the case, we would reasonably expect the issue to have been reported to us at the time so it could be properly assessed and resolved. As this was not done, and the concerns are only being raised several years later, we’re unable to substantiate these claims.

Based on the images provided, the condition shown is consistent with corrosion to the metal components developing over time, rather than a manufacturing fault. With correct and consistent cleaning and drying, this type of issue does not occur, and many customers continue to use our vests for several years without experiencing this problem.

We have carried out a full and fair review and our position remains unchanged.

I recently purchased the FREETRAIN…

I recently purchased the FREETRAIN ULTRA 1 vest and overall I’m really impressed with it.

The fit is excellent — it sits snug without bouncing, even on longer runs. It’s lightweight but still feels secure, which makes a big difference when you’re carrying essentials. The material is breathable and comfortable, so it doesn’t feel too hot or restrictive during runs.

The storage is well designed, with easy access to things like your phone, keys, and gels without needing to stop. Everything feels thought through and practical for real running use.

The build quality is also solid and doesn’t feel cheap, so it seems like it will last.

Overall, I’d definitely recommend the ULTRA 1 vest to anyone looking for a comfortable and reliable running vest.

Good Products, Frustratingly Difficult Returns

The products themselves are perfectly fine and the buying process was smooth enough, but the returns system is unnecessarily frustrating and outdated.

Having to email just to request a return feels like a step backwards, and then being made to dig around for product codes and pay for the return yourself only adds to the irritation. All of this while providing an order number that should already contain every detail needed.

It honestly feels as though the process has been deliberately designed this way to discourage customers from making returns at all.

For a company that gets the basics right, it’s baffling how poorly the returns process is handled.

To clarify, we do ask for a few key details (such as items and reason for return) alongside the order number to meet GDPR requirements and ensure we process returns accurately - this is standard across most online retailers.

In this case, once we received those details, your return was resolved within one reply from us, with just two emails from each side in total.

My favourite running pouch so far

My favourite running pouch so far. Sits well and no movement or sounds when running. Has space for a phone, keys, and probably a couple of gels/a bar.

I got my order

I was told my product would arrive on a particular date but it was a day late. I reached out via email to see if someone could check the tracking because the info I had was not updating. I got no response. It did arrive a day later. I was concerned that since it was coming from out the country that there was an issue. Like we did when trying to order the last one.

Quality gear

I purchased an original Freetrain vest many years ago and decided I would try something different. Purchased some garbage off Amazon and had to send it back after one use. “You get what you pay for”
I then immediately purchased 2 new vest from freetrain. They are incredible - excellent quality and use.
Do not waste your time on some poor quality garbage - purchase the freetrain gear. It is quality gear, then enjoy your run.

Your order was successfully placed and dispatched from our side, however the courier was unable to complete delivery and has returned the parcel to us. Missing items from delivery

I ordered two of the hydro vest one for myself and one for my wife I contacted free train as soon as delivery was made as only one vest had been sent out, it’s been 5 days and this has not been resolved it was said they would look into it but I have still not heard anything from customer service o would not order again!

Great Product 100% recommend!

Got them this week and ran everyday with the clothing and it’s a great fit, super comfortable and breathable. Would 100% recommend to anyone who runs a lot. Overall a great range for the price and come in a good range of colours.

Sent the wrong order and the time its taking to solve this issue is terrible. Almost as if I am to blame for them sending the wrong items.

You first contacted us on 6th March regarding receiving the wrong items, and we provided a free prepaid returns label the same day so the incorrect products could be sent back to us. As advised, we do need the items returned before a replacement can be issued.

We’ve only just received the return tracking from you and can see the parcel was delivered back to our warehouse around 24 hours ago. Our team is now processing this as a priority so the correct items can be sent out as quickly as possible.

Prompt shipping and nicely made…

Prompt shipping and nicely made product. I use my V2 vest for mountain biking and it is great. I used to use a waist belt but it was a bit annoying but with the V2 vest my phone is secure, stays where its meant to and I forget Im even wearing the vest.
