Totally useless umbrella - kept getting jammed when I was trying to put it up in the rain. After a few uses the umbrella broke and the shaft snapped at the top. Very expensive rubbish.

Poor quality
Had an amazing sturdy umbrella from Fulton which I sadly lost! I bought a new one at £16 which popped up on third use and broke (arm snapped). I assumed it was faulty and contacted Fulton. A few weeks later they asked me to send in pictures. I did and never heard again. I bought another Fulton umbrella at £30, based on the strength of my first one. This broke on third use in rain/ wind. I think the quality is poor and they are very overpriced! Customer service not great either. Would not buy another one.
The Fulton Radiant Tonal Herringbone umbrella
I purchased the umbrella from their diamond collection directly from Fulton. I couldn’t find very much information about the umbrella online other than two reviews & some rather unclear photographs, one of the reviews was positive & the other not so much. Regardless I decided I could always return it if the quality wasn’t up to the price. It arrived in a matter of days via DPD & I have to say that I’m extremely pleased with both the fit & finish. It’s a dark grey material with real enamel and genuine leather finishes, the wooden handle feels great in hand. The shaft & ferrule are indeed very sturdy & will no doubt stand up to the years of heavy use they are going to receive. Overall I would recommend the Radiant Tonal to anyone who is looking not only for a smart umbrella but also one that will last them for years
Great product delivered quickly
Lovely products and received quickly. Had a minor technical issue with order and was contacted next working day (ordered over weekend) to explain the issue and given solutions. Great customer service. Received the item next working day. Very happy and have already tried them out.
Poor quality
Umbrella broke after only a few uses in mild rain. Just collapses on your head at random.
Customer service is useless and had no response from them.
Expensive and poor build quality
Bought the Commissioner. Flimsy as a cheap umbrella and prone to breaking in moderate breeze.
Poor designd …
Fulton Hurricane:
The handle rattles and is not ergonomically fit to hold the umbrella with high winds. Also the opening that should that shout lat the wind through leaks. When the umbrella is rested on the shoulder water leaks through the gap and drips directly on my head.
For the money it is a poor designd umbrella. Wil not ever buy it again.
Not worth it.
Quality not what it used to be
I've had several compact Fulton umbrellas over the years and the quality used to be excellent. The last two I've had have been, frankly, rubbish and no better than the cheap umbrellas you can buy anywhere. They are flimsy with weak fixings. The rivets holding the frame together separate, the umbrella is loose on the handle, and if they do get winded the frame breaks. There is absolutely no point in paying through the nose for what is clearly a cheap, mass produced item made in the same factory as the disposable ones. Which is exactly what I'll be buying when my current Fulton falls apart a bit more.
Avoid the extra expense - these umbrellas have built in problems
When I buy anything, I go for quality and am prepared to pay the extra for that.
So I thought Fulton umbrellas would be a good choice. But having had problems with two of their purported strongest compact umbrellas, in normal and not windy conditions, I know now that the sales words are only that - to get sales. I find the umbrellas and their technology are actually flimsier that standard products.
I've had two of their "Tornado" compacts:
- in the first one the handle came off the shaft - bad design - very short handle leads to huge moment forces inside the handle so it loosens and damages;
- in the second, one of the poly carbonate hinges broke at the pin joint when folding the umbrealla. The design is too intricate and weak. This one small part breaking renders the whole umbrella useless.
No wonder, as stated in their FAQs, that they find repair uneconomic - based on my experience they'd be having to warranty repair huge numbers.
My advice is just go for a standard traditional umbrella and ignore the hype coming from Fulton about how excellent they think their umbrellas are
Fulton Cyclone is a masterpiece & terrific customer service!
Honestly their Cyclone model is THE most amazing umbrella I have ever owned. Not only does it do what it's touted to do (ie operate in the WORST wind, rain and sleet without bending or inverting) but it is so tough and durable that I was actually able to use the tip to dig through ice to allow my car to reverse up an icy slope! And the umbrella still works perfectly although the tip is a bit worn! Oh and literally the best customer service and support in the world- many thanks Paul 🙏🏻🤩😁🎉
Fulton makes rubbish
I bought the much vaunted fulton umbrella in England. It broke the second time I used it. How's that for quality?
Flimsy Stormshield
Bought 'Stormshield' brolly about 6 months ago from K Lewis
The thing broke in the first serious wind experienced
Big fan of their umbrellas
Big fan of their umbrellas - they usually last me for 10+ years. They are light and portable. Customer service is also excellent.
Fantastic Product and Service
Excellent product at a fair price with first class customer service. Can definitely recommend. Made in the UK too!
Love it.
Fabulous
Fabulous. Umbrella developed fault over time due to material of handle. Contacted Fulton who sent a replacement without any hassle.
Copying small independent brands
Copying small independent brands. I bought a duck umbrella thinking it was from Original Duckhead but it was a bad copy. No automatic opening. Not made with recycled materials. Very disappointing.
