I am absolutely LOVING Laura’s Foundations course. It is brilliantly put together in a hierarchical, building-blocks way that is SO clear, so logical, so easy to absorb without memorization. Everything Laura says about the traditional way German is taught is true. The student is expected to memorize the articles to hundreds of words and plug in declensions with no clue as to which one. It’s impossible. Wish I'd found Laura’s courses five years ago. I know now that learning in a way that doesn’t form a pattern isn’t learning at all. It’s all just random bits and pieces--too disjointed to hang onto for very long. Laura’s course brings clarity and sense—no memorization, just understanding. You will NOT waste your time or money on this course. You WILL have a clear understanding of German foundations.

I'm spending way too much time on German because I am enjoying it so thoroughly. It's my little secret pleasure during the day! I am so eager to hear what I’m going to learn next.

I find the lessons easy to follow and I get answers to my questions in a timely manner. This course is covering information I didn't have explained in my Babble course. I find that the two work well for me. Looking forward to seeing what the next course has to offer.

I have struggled with German for a year despite the best efforts of a home tutor. Laura Bennett's German Course starts by focussing on two essentials - word order and the four genders (join up to learn about the 4th gender!). She advises against rote learning, encouraging instead learning by assimilation. Similarly, vocabulary can wait till the structures are in place. Laura's approach is fresh, vibrant and interesting. There is a quiz at the end of each video. Highly recommended.

If you really want to learn German this is the course you want to take. Learning German grammar first is the key to being a fluent speaker. This course teaches you that so when learning new words you already know how to put them in complete sentences. This is the key to success. Thanks Laura

Learning German with Laura is the best I’ve ever found. She’s the perfect teacher, using the perfect method and she makes it fun! What more could you want! She willingly offers a lot of free content so that no one needs to blindly pay for a course not knowing what kind of teaching they’ll get. She’s amazing but humble; a wonderful combination. I spent a lot of time looking online for German lessons and came across German with Laura.
There was a free introductory lesson which I thought that I would look at and glad that I did.
Laura’s enthusiasm and style of teaching is brilliant, all of the things that I was struggling with suddenly became a whole lot easier.
I would highly recommend German with Laura to anyone who was either like myself starting out learning German or if you learnt before and want to get back into it.
With a free introductory lesson what have you got to lose?

As someone with zero experience in German, after completing the Foundation course, I now have a very good understanding of German. I know there is still a long way to go, but I now have the tools to differentiate word gender, understand the case system and verb endings, and create basic sentences. As a Chinese who speaks English and Japanese, as secondary languages, I understand the importance of building a solid foundation of grammar before moving onto something more complex. This will speed up the future learning. Laura has managed to explain the German grammar in a scientific and structured way, and being scientific is very good for a beginner like myself. I recommend the German Foundations to anyone who is pondering over kicking off German learning while being intimidated by the legendary myriads of pains in German learning. The legend is true, but Laura will come save you with a magic wand. I'm also looking forward to seeing more courses (intermediate German perhaps?) from Laura.

German with Laura has been a great experience. The lessons are well planned and Laura has a great understanding of German grammar. The tips on how to remember if a noun is masculine, feminine or neuter are very helpful. The basics of sentence structure are very important when learning German since word order is completely different in English.

I found German with Laura while looking for ways to understand the German declensions, this was for me the hardest part of the German language. I began reading her free material and I instantly liked her approach, she manages to simplify difficult topics into manageable concepts. I took her free course "Unlocking German Grammar" and the content really made sense to me and I really enjoyed her teaching style. After a few days I decided to take the plunge and I buy her paid course "German Foundations", looking back I am so happy I did! She designed a chart that contains all declensions in a simplified and easy way to learn and remember. She also goes through other topics like Personal Pronouns, word genders and more, always using the "all in one German declensions chart". After going through the course a couple of times I can now choose the right declension every time and I stopped suffering with this topic. Thank you Laura!

it is good to those who want to see the overview.
Laura’s voice is awesome!
She’s good at explaining with the shortcuts/tricks /strategies.
She also offer assistance privately once you did not understand and you can easily reach out with her via email.
I have nothing personal problem with her.
however, The course wasn’t for me.
I wanted a refund and she refunded it.
The course does not tackle the tenses , modal particles and etc.
(which i think it would be on her other course)
It would be great if the course would be tackle deep and more content!

I've been taking German courses a long time now and just kept at it, memorizing and getting frustrated. I came across one of Laura's YouTube videos and it just made sense! I signed up and am taking her online course now. This is the first course I've taken that actually makes me know I will be able to learn German and use it in my daily life. Thank you Laura!

German with Laura is a great way to start your study of deutsch! Secret is it gives you tools to demistify, patternize and rationalize your encounter with an otherwise ugly and hard seeming language :) It's also well adapted to the adult brain, which is more than can be said for some traditional learning techniques...

Highly recommended. Laura's course helped me so much and really helped to fill in the gaps. This course is definitely worth taking, shes a great teacher.

I took the Laura's Grammar foundation course even though I had already passed this level. To my surprise it was great to discover the answers to doubts the former teachers weren't able to give me. It was absolutely very helpful. I know there are exceptions to rule in any language but the hints she gives us as far as the German grammar foundation is built/structured, at least to me, finally answered my questions and put the pieces to the puzzle together. I realized that I don't even have to know the vocabulary in order to 90% guess its gender and above all, the so called declension monster and its fundamental preposition roles was finally understood. So far, I am very much happy indeed. I've interrupted my ongoing course thru another platform for now, and I'll wait till I feel confident enough to return to that level. I was a foreign language teacher for 30 years in my country and to me, the foundation of the language is the pillar which sustains it. If one wants to become fluent and most of all, ACCURATE, without having the basics solid, you'll get nowhere.
Therefore, I truly recommend it especially to the beginners in the language learning process 'cause it will save you a lot to time and money.
Here I go now for the vocabulary course with the same expectations and I hope to be positively surprised again.

I have bought Laura’s Foundation course and was very disappointed. She simplified building plurals and made it seem very easy, but she simplified it so much that it was not useable. If you use her train stops method to pass a test, you would fail. I paid for her Vocabulary Builder course only to find that I had to buy another book. I told her I wanted B1 level, but the course was A1, so totally useless. Please do not buy any of her courses.

Laura breaks down the concepts into readily understood blocks. I had some previous lessons but none of them had made it so clear or dare I say it Fun!

I just started German Foundations and I can tell that I will learn a lot with Laura's method of teaching. She spells things out very clearly and progresses at a good pace. I intend to complete the course before I move to Germany in 1 month!

I HIGHLY recommend Laura Bennett’s German Foundations course! I only wish I had found it sooner. For just one example, she completely de-mystified the whole subject of declensions for me. Her All-in-One Declensions Chart is absolutely brilliant and worth the price of the entire course! Laura has a gift for simplifying the basic structures of the German language, and her enthusiastic teaching style was so inspiring. I came away with the realization, “I can do this!” You will not be disappointed.

I am a retired person who had high school and some University German classes 35 years ago. I have chance to spend some time in Germany with a friend perhaps next fall. I am looking to review (re-learn!) German so I can converse and read. Laura class has been straight forward and has been very helpful in re-establishing my basic German skills. I am looking forward to doing more classwork with her. Classes are well organized, and she is very helpful. I would highly recommend her classes.
