By default, this application automatically uploads all screenshots to the internet (Imgur) without asking for the user's explicit consent. This is a severe violation of privacy for anyone capturing sensitive or private data. It should not be pre-configured this way out of the box.

Trying to use screen record. It inexplicably quits a few seconds in. Even if the counter is showing in the bottom left corner and it looks like its going, it just doesn't record more than a few seconds.
Update - I'm not sure what I did but it started working right. It's my go-to app for screen recording now. It records with very good resolution.

I'm a very experienced developer myself, and this is my first time using ShareX. It looks very polished, and I assume a lot of work went into it. I hate giving a bad review like this because I know how unforgiving software can be (with many years in the field), but my first experience was very poor.

First, it's extremely unintuitive how to even target the window you want. ShareX started maximized in my case and when I tried to do a scrolling capture I couldn't select the Window I wanted because, guess what, the ShareX window was already maximized and Alt+Tabbing to the target window didn't work. Its behavior was very confusing in fact. I finally managed to figure out how to target the window I wanted after quite a bit of effort, but the scrolling capture I was interested in then didn't work properly. It cut off part of my image in a very bizarre and unusual way (longer story but as a programmer I can tell it's a serious bug). After subsequently upgrading to the latest version (it prompted me), the scrolling capture then didn't work at all anymore. All it did was capture the visible portion of the screen without actually scrolling to the bottom (isn't that what it's supposed to do!). It also cut off my image again in another very bizarre (obviously buggy) way, but different from the earlier version.

Upshot is the program may work for some, but it clearly has serious issues.

Using it since 2017, I guess. Best tool because in the Windows, you just simply don't have such a function that will create a screenshot or upload on something somewhere. The killer feature is the upload to Imgur, and I just have all my screenshots stored somewhere, and it's awesome.

A really good editor featuring many functions like, editing, uploading, QR-code generating and more.
I use it every day.

On the image editor, there's no functionality to zoom in and out, making it frustrating to use. A Github issue was opened in 2017 with hundreds of comments and it's now 2022, still without zoom. What a massive fail.
