Basic rule of any of these ‘miracle’ products…if it’s too good to be true, it must be a lie.
Came across this advert (on a reliable science site) & being scientifically educated, I was curious. Nowhere do they actually explained how the product works or give any supporting evidence. Clearly a scam. Saving 90% AFTER it has already gone through your meter, just by reducing noise…lucky if you get 0.1% saving through noise reduction, and need a sensitive meter to read those millivolts. Trust your first instinct & common sense.

I've been plagued with pop up ads for Motex - save 90% on your electricity bills - for months now. I eventually caved in and read the blurb. I felt that it was completely impossible that any device that could save a customer so much money wouldn't be more widely known. In an age when we're being asked to cut our carbon footprint, I really thought the Government would have got behind this, if the device did what it was supposed to do.

As always, I checked on Trustpilot and, as I thought, the whole thing is a scam. In the UK at the moment it's being touted as Motex but, from the reviews on Trustpilot, it seems it used to be called Voltex.

Having read some of the reviews (there seems to be hundreds and almost all negative) I haven't bought the device and don't intend to. Very grateful to Trustpilot for confirming my suspicions.

Scientifically unproven. Once the power has passed through the meter and been measured nothing can alter or change that reading/

Total scam .Do not waste your money. Friend of mine purchased 2 and soon found out it's a scam still waiting for refund 6 weeks later

It's more likely to waste energy, because its consuming energy Being plugged in.

I'm sure the inventor can walk on water. Feed 5000 with a loaf of bread. Turn water to wine. But he wont save you any money using his plug.

The only way to save energy is not to use it.
Turn off unessacary devices.
Keep you house well insulated.
Get low energy equipment and lighting.
That's the ONLY way to reduce consumption.

Two weeks ago I bought two Voltex with the assurance that fitting these would reduce my electricity bills by more that 70%, NOW I read Trustpilot who say they are an efficient SCAM having caused fire to breakout in several houses fitted with them!
Not wanting to loose my home through fire I’ve unplugged them and trashed them.

I used to think that Eastenders was sad and depressing but now compared to coronation street it’s heaven as for Emerdale it’s dead and buried! Bring back Emerdale Farm. ITV on a weekend your having a lough.

You don't need to buy a Voltex to see that it is a scam, just a tiny bit of tech knowledge is enough. It is only possible to reduce power consumption of working devices by a small amount by reducing the voltage with a transformer and then they'd probably not work so well.

I seen their ads, and knew what they claimed was not true. But I bought one anyway, knowing that the unit probably has a capacitor in it, which could help take the load off when a compressor starts up, such as a refrigerator. Needless to say it did not work. I opened it up and the capacitor in it was wired incorrectly, plus all of the soldered joints were poorly done. I contacted the company and demanded a refund. They were very quick to reply. Their offers to me were, mail it back to them (my cost), and once they get it, I get a full refund, or take a half fee $37cdn refund and keep the unit. well I figured first option, I'm now out of pocket postage cost, plus they would probably claim they never received it. So I took the partial refund. They stated it would take up to 5-6 business days for my refund. After 14 days I emailed them again, and got some bogus story about computer issues, but that yes another refund was issued (2 days ago now), I continue to watch my bank balance, nothing so far. This company should be sued for their lies, their cheap useless junk. People if it seems too good to be true, it"s probably not.

I ordered three Voltex units, but on receipt noticed that the recommended operating working temperatures would be exceeded in Cyprus where I had planned to instal them. I contacted Voltex and explained my concern. There was no hesitance in their customer service representative assuring me that a refund would be made and the following day my bank received the credit. I note that many reviews have claimed Voltex is a scam company. If so, would a scam company be so keen to offer and deliver a refund?

I saw the ad for this device It sounded too good to be true.. and it was (!) Thanks to the reviews I avoided a snare This company should be prosecuted for making false claims under the Trade Descriptions Act 😬

So very grateful for TRUST PILOTS existence, if anything seems too good to be true go onto Trust Pilot for peace of mind, thank you Trust Pilot nearly fell for this allegedly scam attempt.😡

I am an electrical contractor. i purchased two of these things they are a scam. Didn't change my hydro bill at all. Stay away from this crap!!!!!!!!

Is google really that hard up for cash? Like you tube airing the Elon will send you 2 bitcoins for every 1 bitcoin you send to the charity tag line “ most user send 5 bitcoins” Google can tell these are bogus but the allow a number of folks to get scammed. What should do is make them put up big bucks and huge deposits for the ad. Let it air for 2 seconds and call outer the scam keeping all the scammers money.
