Great experience at Glasgow Airport on…
Great experience at Glasgow Airport on Sunday 26th November 10am flight to Gran Canaria. I have a bad back and asked for assistance, the jet2 member at check in Usman and the airport assistance lady blonde hair very nice are a credit to the airport. I was so embarrassed to get pushed through on a wheelchair and im not the lightest both these staff made me feel at ease, safe and just very caring.
Thanks
Jennifer
Friendly and helpful helpful staff
OK, everyone knows that the prices at all UK airports are a rip-off.
However, I do find the staff at Glasgow airport to be the best and friendliest of every airport I have visited. Even the customs staff, unfriendly by reputation, are the only airport where you are greeted with a smile and a warm welcome.
Well done Glasgow for exceptional customer service and setting a standard few other airports come near.
Glasgow Airport - Tops for Extortion
Glasgow Airport has become nothing short of an organisation designed to part unsuspecting travellers with their money. The drop off fee has again been raised to £5.00, a shocking amount for what amounts to nothing at all. I find the whole concept of drop off charges to be extortion. What other organisation allows people to charge to deliver their customers to their door?
On top of all this prepare for further extortion in the bars and restaurants. The Caledonian bar now charge £7.50 for a pint of beer and £1.75 for a dash of lemonade in your already grossly overpriced 25 measure of spirits.
If going to the airport my advice would be to bring sandwiches and avoid these highway robbers altogether.
POORLY ORGANISED
Easy to park and bus was waiting to take us to the terminal. However, the return journey was terrible. Only one bus running, the queue for the bus was all the way inside the building, several flights had landed. After waiting a very long time in the freezing cold, while the one bus ran back and forwards to the car park, we eventually got on. The driver was arguing with someone on the phone that more buses were needed due to the long queues, it would appear without much success.
Paying lip-service to sustainability
Registered my EV prior to using airport drop off / pick up ("At Glasgow Airport we aim to support a sustainable future and so we are offering 10 minutes of free access to the pick-up and drop-off area for our customers with electric vehicles."). Still charged on exit (7 days after "registering"). Contacted Airport using "Feedback" form 4 days ago - absolutely no response.
Car Park 2 full even although we pre booked
Pre booked car park 2 at Glasgow Airport for 10 days to go on holiday. Turned up to be told there were no spaces and we needed to leave our car parked at the side of the exit route. Fully expected our car to be damaged on return. Luckily not though! Complained online and was just fobbed off saying it was the busiest time of the year (October!!!) So basically we have your money in advance so tough!! Poor show!!
Not valet parking …
If you think valet parking means you will get a premium service don’t book it at Glasgow Airport. When you arrive you park your car at the curb side, get your luggage out the car and take your keys to a portacabin. Then you have the cold, damp walk to the airport. It’s not located at the front door as you would expect, the walks not that far, but on a cold wet Glasgow morning it’s a miserable experience.
It’s when you return from you car it’s a nightmare. You have the same cold windy walk, for us in storm Babet to the portacabin to pick up our keys. They had lost the car keys of the family in front of us. Instead on one person dealing with that and the other person dealing with everyone else. Everyone was looking for the keys. An elderly couple then arrived to drop off their car. Bear in mind there was a yellow weather warning in place and this couple had to stand and waiting for the missing keys to be found in the cold and wind. The keys were finally found. But the couples car was parked so far away an attendant had to show them where it was parked. ( for me valet parking means your car should be brought to you)
We had to walk in the cold and wind across surface car park to get our car.
When we arrived it was clear it the car had been parked in the same spot under trees for 2 weeks and hadn’t been moved. The car was covered in tree branches ( nothing too big) but enough to scratch the bonnet in several places, but try proving they hadn’t been there before, so we just had to accept the damage to the car. Again there was a storm warning in place and I am not sure under trees was the best place to park a car. I am not sure what Glasgow airport thinks this is but it’s not valet parking.
If you are getting a good deal in general and don’t want to get the bus from the long stay car park, you maybe happy enough with this service. But if you want convenience at any price ; park your car in the multi-storey car park across from the terminal. Your car will be protected under cover and you have a short walk via the walk way on the first floor directly into the terminal. I have bought valet parking at other airports and it was far superior to this service.
Valet Parking
Just used new valet parking service in Glasgow Airport. Great service. Dropped off car in 3 minutes & picked up -again 3 minutes.
Very happy with service. Plus on the right side of international arrivals; so hardly any walking!
Immediate response to my queery
Contacted the airport via facebook messenger, got an immediate response, gave me an quick answer to my question and explained what to do to track my flight for updates, fantastic service from GM who was the advisor.
Glasgow airport is the best
Glasgow airport is the best. When you arrive with your suitcase at the airport it means you are leaving Glasgow, which is the best thing. Get through security, go to spoons for a drink and it’s all good (until you have to come back at least)
Disappointed
I had preordered duty free to save time at the airport and the package was not made up.Staff spent a while looking for it until they gave up.Then went to get some breakfast which was nothing short of cold and slow service(Frankie and Bennys) I realise that this is not directly the fault of the airport authorities but surly there should be checks made on these organisations who are renting premises. Finally the state of the ladies toilets in the airport was woeful.I left the ones just outside duty free shop as they were blocked and sinks were filthy and went to ones closer to the gates and there I found them marginally better. All in all I’m ashamed to be Glaswegian if this is the standard the foreigners passing through our airport witness. My date of travel was 30September2023.Arriving home on 7October I’m sad to say toilet in baggage reclaim wasn’t pleasant.
Worst airport.
3 flights landed with 30 mins of each other and the queue to get through passport control was horrendous. There are only 4 or 5 pasport readers.Palma were we came from has loads and took us no time to get through. Glasgow airport took the best part of an hour. It doesn’t have the capacity for hundreds of people trying to get through passport control at the one time. I don’t know what idiot thought it was a good idea to land 3 flights in a very short pace of tine. Disgrace of an airport.
Go to the LONG STAY car park number 2 for a SHORT drop off
I went to drop off my brother at the airport and followed the signs to what was indicated as free drop off as long as you didn't take longer than 15 minutes. Then 3 minutes later couldn't get out without paying £5. I complained to the airport who said there is no free drop off. The only place you can stop for free is car park 2. The guide signs are deliberately deceiving and con people. Go to the LONG STAY car park number 2 for a SHORT stay drop off!
Shocking service!
Shocking service!
Tried to contact them thru Facebook Private Message, sent a complaint form, phoned Customer Service 5 times only to be cut off after 8/10 rings!
Complete joke of an airport.
The airport claims to "serve Glasgow"…
The airport claims to "serve Glasgow" it doesnt it serves itself.
Parking charges are simply a cash grab, they recently changed the fees so now that you have to pay on departure not at the terminal so if you are held up in a queue which often there are then if you go over your allotted time then the fee doubles, it is nothing short of robbery , hence people not using it as much and people are dropping off near by, disgusting behaviour on the part of the airport.
Facilities at the airport are pretty awful, and it appears to not be able to cope that well, also seating is at best meagre and well the cost of everything, if you are going away make sure you eat something before you depart and I would suggest carrying some food with you and fill up your water bottle.
AGAIN those parking charges are horrid and a cash grab you have been warned.
Very rude and unhelpful staff at…
Very rude and unhelpful staff at baggage check. Most staff seem to be young and extremely unhelpful. Also, the system of trying to get your baggage onto the conveyor in a line of 4 people is not working and the staff walk away and do not help. No one is taught to smile or at least be friendly. I was spoken to very rudely by a young tatooed worker who just didnt care about his job at all. He looked like he had just left prison and was now a jobsworth baggage executive.
Very poor service getting through security …
I queued for half an hour to get through security, this is 25% of the time my flight took from Spain. Absolutely useless and extremely disappointing after a very efficient airline.
Arrived from Mexico after an 8 hr…
Arrived from Mexico after an 8 hr flight, we arrived bang on time,no ground staff to meet the aircraft so had to wait in the Plane for 25 mins, exact same thing happened 6 month ago at Glasgow also, you certainly know how to put a dampener on the end of a holiday swissport had one member of staff, disgraceful
Lost Luggage
My Grandson and his new wife flew from Belfast to Glasgow and then to Heathrow. When they arrived at Heathrow they had no luggage they were told to come back the following morning just before their Honeymoon flight to Barbados but still no luggage so they are now in Barbados with no clothing or toiletries . I contacted Glasgow airport twice the second time I got reply redirecting to the baggage handling company, so where is their luggage how do you misplace two very large suitcases that have been tagged to Heathrow, still have no answers.
Update 2/9/2023
My grandson and his new wife still have no luggage they have been in Barbados since the 28th August and they are still living in clothes that they came in all due to the rubbish baggage handlers at Glasgow Airport. The company that deals with the baggage Swissport have still not answered my email I sen them on the 30th, total joke.
Utter Shambles
Arrived from Turkey early hours of Friday 25th August . First issue No staff to operate the air bridge connection. Delay by at least 15 mins. 2nd issue we waited over an hour for our bags to be delivered to the carousel. Feeble excuses eventually issued by the one & only swissport rep. Basically not enough baggage handlers for the flight arrivals. Management/ planning an utter shambles. Lots of passengers were travelling to England, a very poor advert for Glasgow airport. I would have given zero stars if I could have.
