i really want to love this light but sadly it has fallen short for me in a few tiny details:
1. the o-ring used to attach the remote switch to the handlebars is too small to clip around my gravel drop bars - Glowworm suggested i just stretch it to fit but the rubber broke after a couple of days. it came off mid ride so i had to search around in the bush in the dark to find it. Glowworm sent me a link to a place where i can purchase a different sized O- ring but its a shame this additional purchase requirement wasn't made clear pre-purchase. having 2 or 3 size options at checkout would be great.
2. i believe these lights used to come with a charger unit but now they suggest you can use any usb-c charger block to charge. however i have found the majority of usb chargers dont pump enough watts to get the battery charging- the only one i have is a laptop power block, way too bulky for bike packing, and even then the battery seems to take a very long time to charge.
3. i can't charge the light using a battery pack either, after a few minutes the light battery starts charging the battery pack and eventually both end up flat.
4. i find the interface with the battery unit to be a little unintuitive- there is an instruction to hold it a certain way to get a readout on battery level, but i find it hard to make it work every time. maybe a little button would help.

none of these issues prevent the light from working, but all together they lead to me feeling a bit of buyers regret.
the marketing online suggests the glowworm light resolves issues found in other lights, however i feel a bit like i have just swapped some issues for other issues.
sorry glowworm, i love what you do but this time it just hasn't hit the mark fir me. hopefully these things can be resolved for future products.

I wanted the 2 cell battery to attach to headstrap for hiking. It's not too heavy with battery attached to rear of the headstrap and means you don't have to juggle with cables.

Just put on headstrap and off you go. Great for night dog walking, rogaines that finish in the dark and hiking/camping.

Customer service was excellent.

Changing to a better attachment on the bike than the flimsy system provided would be a great benefit to all customers.

Happy with the light & accessories. Great service when I had a problem with the battery

My query was dealt with quickly and I was offered a great solution to my problem.

Great lighting system. I used it in the Winter season when my commute to and from work was dark. I had to use a helmet mounting system from a competitor lighting manufacturer to work with my Laser G1 helmet, which has ridge in the middle. The footcandles were just right on my commute which consists of 4 miles on road, and 8 on rails to trails path. The light pattern and angle is fine for my needs.

***Update: Gloworm reached out to me and allowed me to explain reason for my review. They are now replacing both of my defective lights even though they are out of warranty. 5 stars just for customer service! I'm excited to try out the updated version that's reported to have rectified the connection issues.

Amazingly bright lights with great battery life. Plagued with battery connection issues.

I own the previous generation with the usb-C battery connection and it's so unreliable that I find them un-useable. Nothing like ripping down a steep tech trail then suddenly finding yourself in pitch black. Unfortunately I am so heavily invested in the product that I can't justify the expense to "trust" the newer batteries with updated connections. I now have $700 out of warranty paperweights.

The usb connections still suck. We arranged a group buy and all three of us have had to send components in for repair. The warranty folks are good to deal with and they stood by their products. Maybe the new versions are better?

My rating would be a 2.5. They're bright and compact, but this newest version (2.1) still has issues with the remote not turning the light on at times just like the previous lights (2.0). There's no rhyme or reason why it does this, but on a good note, it doesn't happen as often as my 2.0 lights. The 1.0 version I have is still bombproof and never has issues. Can't recommend the 2.0 or 2.1 to anyone until GW figures out the remote issue and random light turn offs.
I've had the 1.0 light for about 4-5ish years, multiple 2.0 lights (wife and I have several) for 3 years, and the 2.1 for about six months.

Despite being based in Brazil, I go out of my way to use Gloworm lights. They are truly outstanding.

Ordered in Europe, lights arrived quickly. There was a small part missing, contacted them and they immediately sent the missing part and it arrived within 2 days. No hassle.

The lights work really well of course, been using one for the last years and now got a second one to have a helmet+handle bar combo. Much better and brighter at a given stated lumen than many other brands.

Bought a XS G2.0 light for gravel ultras.
At delivery i was missing QR bar mount adapter for 31.8, contacted Gloworm who sent me a new one.
Tested the light at delivery, looked to be ok. First testride the light did not work. Contacted Gloworm who asked me to perform some kind of reset, after that the light worked again.
Second testride and the light worked ok. Third testride the light stopped working after a couple of hours riding in the rain, no downpour.
After a couple of hours in the dry, the light started working again.
That was it for me, I need to be 100% certain that a light will work when you need it. Gloworm support have been really good, and I sent the light back and got full refund.
To bad for a really nice light, with the ability to change brightness exactly as you wish.

Got the G2.0 XSV lights . Wow they are awesome compared to lights I have had in the past. Amazing brightness. Do yourself a favour and buy the fast charger as my C usb charger took 24 hours to charge the battery. Also if you have a GO Pro mount on your helmet buy the $20.00 go pro light mount that have 4 small screws as it’s very handy to have

I have an X2. The light itself is quite good with various lenses.
The power pack is poor. The first one died within 12 months as it wouldn't accept any charge, which was replaced on warranty. Again - at around 12 months I experienced the same issue. They are quite expensive to replace ($150 AUD)

I've found power packs off amazon for $40 (INUI) which run the lights for the same time and brightness which are more robust. The powerpacks weigh less and are shaped like a deck of cards.

Cannot thank you enough for your amazing lights are so good I’m actually ordering six more with three spare batteries
