When i arrived at my car i was unable to open it and when i reactivated it i was charged and it still didn't work i was told to book the car beside i noticed there was damage to it and was told not to take it. I eventually got one . Your instructions on how to operate the app are ridiculous and stupid. I eventually got to my destination and I'm hoping i dont have any further issues

I Booked one of their cars for 24hrs but they changed it on the app to only 12hrs without my knowledge and didn't even bother to tell me that after 50 kilometres they'll charge me for every kilometre and an additional charge for 25 just for inconvenience. After that and ended up Overcharging me three times and instead of paying 55 euro for my trip I had to pay them 118 euros! Don't fall for this scam

Have been using this service for a while but i do not recommend it, when you book a vehicle it may or may not be at the pick up point , the cars are dirty and badly serviced by the company, the customer service is bad and after a certain time there is no help available so if you have a breakdown or a puncture you are on your own, i recently had a vehicle hired and i could not find parking anywhere near the return base so i left it as close as i could legally and they charged me 170,00
so i terminated my account.
Van cancelled day of with no explanation or apology.
A week ago I booked a van for today in order to transport people and materials to a craft fair where said people were due to sell said materials.
This morning I get an automated email from GoCar confirming cancellation of my booking and informing me my refund was pending. I did not cancel.
I call GoCar and the (very nice) man on the phone explained that the van had a technical fault and wouldn’t be available. A couple of very inconvenient alternatives were available but by the time I confirmed with my passengers that these would work, these options were gone.
So in essence, cancelled on by GoCar the morning of the booking with absolutely no explanation or apology, and no alternatives secured by them. Now, as it’s Saturday afternoon, I can’t find a van elsewhere and my friends will miss the craft fair and therefore lose out on income.
Would extremely not recommend.

Hello,We have been surprised to see that when there is a problem with your car (medium fastening seat belt impossible to use due to a kind of button on it ), and therefore impossible to use the 5 places in it. I had previously proposed to go to another close gocar location and to exchange the car to a similar one, or to be allowed to try to bring the system above the button (with the risk of destroying the button...and hurting myself! !!!)
And the only answer was to bring back the car to its initial gocar location (victoria street/zion road in Dublin south) and to be refunded!It is unbelievable because we rent your car for a serious reason : we need to use it !
I have also explained on the phone that I have to walk around 15minutes to the initial location and I refuse to have to do it again AND to have to walk again to the 2d gocar location= again 15 -20 minutes.The lady on the phone was unable to allow me any compensation, I simply asked to have 30 minutes more at the end of the 24h hours booking!
The first time, I had to rent a go car, it was difficult to find it and even during day time, Nobody answered on your Gocar's phone !The last time I rented a gocar the fuel tank door was damaged and I was not sure it would be possible to open it.This time I had to find myself a solution by pulling strongly to place the system above the button on the belt (happily I did not hurt myself nor damage the belt)!Each time I rent a car, I also have to fill the tank!
The maintenance of your Cars is Your Duty, not customers'one!We should not spend time managing it on our rent.
I am not satisfied and I hope you will not continue like that!
car imobilised by company despite extending trip
We rented a van from Go Car and it was brilliant for transporting what we needed. I rang twice to extend the journey and was told both times it was extended for 24 hours - however during our trip driving in a busy street in the middle of the city centre the power was cut off and the car became immobilised in the middle of 2 lanes of traffic very almost causing a 4 car crash.
Thankfully we were able to let the car roll into a parking space however this was an extremely dangerous situation. When we rang back up they were sure we didn't extend the trip (hence why they immobilised the car) however after quite a lengthy call they admitted they had it wrong - as we rang twice and recorded confirmation both times that our trip was extended until the next day.
Otherwise very convenient for transporting goods etc and will definitely hire again. I would have hoped however that the company would have not immobilised a car whilst they knew someone was driving & would fact check before .
Terrible Experience do not use
So me and my gf used Gocar in Dublin. I had used them before with a decent experience. We wanted to go to Kerry and see around a bit we thought Gocar would be the most convenient option (although not the cheapest for long distances) anyhow all was good until we got a flat tyre 1h away or so from Dublin.
To our surprise there was no spare tyre so we had no option but to call support. First it was almost impossible to get someone on the phone, when we finally did they "transfer" us to a different team and nobody answered. In the end I managed to get hold of someone using the chat. They told us road assistance would come in 90min (it was 9pm on a sat evening,imagine). After almost two hours road assitance calls us asking abiut the issue, after we've explained our predicament they told us they didnt have the tools to fix the tyre and there was nowhere open to get what was needed. In the end, we had to call a tow truck to get the car and we had to take a taxi home(all this with nobody from Gocar on the other side and at 12am on a sat night). Now, after paying for the trip which they delegenty charge me for, they say is not company policy to refund for taxis (which is the least anyone would expect). After SOME complaining we got back 120eur (out of 190eur we spent on the taxi). They are saying they done a exception with us and paid half of the cost and 25eur for the inconveniences (i dont what to know what they do in normal cases). All these problems just because they didnt have a spare tyre (this doesnt seem to be company policy). Do not use them, if you have an issue with the car you are completely on yourown, imagine if you have an accident?!
Terrible service
Terrible service, the idea behind is good but unfortunately it is not run well. If you are depending on a car for a specific date and time, go with a reliable rental company, this one will cause you a headache. The customer service is not helpful and quiet useless in their job.

So there is no control or active avoidance of people treating the cars as theirs.
You will rent car X first time and, if you’re lucky enough, will get a relatively new and not abused vehicle.
You will then think to rent car X again a couple of months later and find yourself driving the zombie version if car X which you much enjoyed driving those couple of months before…
You’ll enter the car and be welcomed by bodily fluids’ stench, will need to fetch cleaning products while gagging, once the car will be in a condition where you can at least sit and try driving it, that will be when you’ll discover that the vehicle X, or better XZ(the zombie car X) has no multimedia functionalities, no working usb charging outlets… all possible maintenance needed, no proximity sensors… you name it!
all this obviously comes FOR THE SAME PRICE they would charge for the car if it was in decent conditions.
Well, dear GoCar… that’s not how things work.
You either put a stop to frequent rentals from the same people and raise the bar in terms of maintaining decent service levels or you need to be more competitive. Customers are not supposed to make up for your sloppy business model and management.

To support the fact you need to regulate continuous frequent users, I once even found a bag of weed in one car, which I have immediately trashed as I would not want to be targeted by my area’s local drug dealers…

I would suggest staying as far away from this company as possible, the customer support side of this company is an absolute joke, their cars are filthy and filled with rubbish frequently if you plan to take a trip with the family be sure to check the inside of it as I've found used condoms and questionable tissues within the cars on several occasions and the fuel cards works 50% of the time now if you still wish to use this service I wish you the best of luck but be sure to check the cars tax and inspection as I've been fined €60 for tax that's been out by 3 months and they refuse to do anything about it, I'm surprised this company is still able to operate.

Vehicle Fault & Pathetic Customer Service
The car that I had booked suffered a technical fault 30minutes into a 3.5 hour booking period. The fault was quite a significant one which meant that the car would not move despite running and being in gear. GoCar's phone number doesn't actually connect to any line. An automated message with keypad prompt options plays on loop and pressing any of the 4 options on your phone keypad has no effect. I have tested this multiple times since to confirm. This means that their only point of contact is via the in app chat box. Typing on a phone while also trying to deal with a vehicle breakdown on a rural road is quite a difficult and dangerous undertaking. This involved back and forths with a series of poorly equipped and under trained customer service personnel, each one insisting that I help them conduct their 'checks' before contacting roadside assistance. Said checks seem to consist entirely of turning the car on and off repeatedly and them locking and unlocking the car from their remote location. Three and a half hours after the car first broke down (4 hours after my booking started) they finally agreed to contact the AA. And could confirm that their recovery vehicle would be with me in 60-90 minutes (4.5/5hrs after the vehicle stopped working) . The CS personnel warned that if i left the car unattended I would be liable for a €180 recovery fine plus €25 late fee. One hour later the AA rang me to say it would be another 1 hour(5.5hrs after the vehicle stopped working) before they arrived. 20 hours later the car had still not been recovered. I know this because the AA called me again to ask where the car was. I had sent the Eircode location to the GoCar CS personnel the previous evening. 24 hours later the AA did recover the car and confirmed that the fault was with the car, and not I as GoCar's CS representatives seemed to be suggesting during our chat. GoCar have charged me the full amount for the rental and also blocked my account. It's an absolutely shocking service. This was not my first bad experience with GoCar but by some way the worst.
Fraudulent Activity
I had booked a GoCar for 3 days but later got it reduced for 2 days after contacting customer car. While GoCar reduced my trip period to 2 days they still charged me for 3 days. Don't understand why would they ask me to return the car 1 day early but still charge me for additional day.
Imagine going to a store to buy 3 apple but you decide to return 1 apple back to the store. The store takes your one apple away and neither refunds you or return you that apple back. Clever way of charging more.
Horrible experience, don’t use GoCar
Horrible experience. Absolutely rude and careless staff, after having used the app with my driving license several times for long trips, I found out suddenly one weekend that my license wasn’t active in my profile. I called customer support, I had to wait for 20 minutes until the ill-mannered worker at the line only told me without further explanation I had to upload the pictures again and wait until Monday. I of course complaint and they eventually blocked my account arbitrary… here I paste my e-mail to them as I was infuriated:
“I have been member of go car for near 2 years, I have done two gofar trips already with no problem, but as of today my driving license appeared as not validated. I have called to your customer support service. The first woman who responded, me having being on hold for 20 minutes, was absolutely unhelpful just telling me to upload new pictures and wait another 24 hours without further explanation… when I have used go car twice with this license already!!! I manifested my discontent with the service, and she very arrogantly told me if I wanted to delete the account. I said that if I‘m treated like this I would do it eventually, but not now, of course. I still hope to be able to use your service as the other times. Well, your worker, very arbitrary, decided to block my account. I called again and I was attended swifly and nicely by another agent. He has been all helpful and nice, and has asked me to send this request to the help desk with the pictures of my driving license again. I‘ve lost all hope to be able to use your service this weekend, but at least I want to recover my account according to my user rights violated by a very unprofessional worker of yours, the first lady (not in capital letters). I still think that your service and customer support should be more flexible and definitely with people like the second agent, not the first. It‘s a bit incomprehensible that I‘m not validated as of yet after having made about 200 km with go car already, but given the situation now, I‘m just content with having my account active. For this weekend I‘ll find another solution. Thank you very much.”.

P.S. The other app from a Japanese company to rent cars instantaneously, fixed my driving license validation the same day I opened my profile, on a weekend, and I actually did the trip I wanted. 1 million times better than miserable GoCar.
Rented a van to carry large objects
Rented a van to carry large objects, collected it at 9.30, drove approx. 1 hour away to collect the items, got there and the back doors were faulty and would not open. An absolute joke of a service as the van was useless to me. A waste of time and money as they still charged me the full amount for supplying me with a van that was not fit for purpose, even though I reported it and sent them video evidence of the doors refusing to open. They obviously don't do any health checks on the vehicles in their fleet. I had the same experience before when the drivers door was faulty and wouldn't open and I was left on hold for ages and was 30 mins late while they tried to sort it out. Then were constantly messaging me to see if I was going to be late returning the van, even though they were the problem with the late start in the first place.

Turned up to get the car and it was not returned. Was told it was in the shop for maintenance and that i should go find another car. Terrible customer service. No one notified me that the car would be available until 5 minutes before. Rude customer service from Luwanda
Poor customer support
When contacting the company with an emergency situation they were dismissive, rude, didn't listen. They had an opportunity to resolve the situation as they used to buy instead maximised the impact on me and the next customer. There is no way to log a complaint seemingly.

I have been using GoCar since 2018. They started off great and then things went downhill!
Poor hygiene, dirty cars, customers smoking in the car and GoCar doing nothing about it!

Very annoying. Said they'd validate my licence in 12-24 hours. They didn't. Turns out it's 12-24 business hours ... and even this excludes weekends - which they don't say anywhere. I'd plans to hire a van & move furniture which I then had to ditch. Judging from all the 1 star reviews they don't give a damn about their customers and don't read or take account of these reviews....hard to understand tha this is how they hope to do business and get/keep customers!!
Illegal Extra charges
They charge you after using it, without any kind of proof. "-30e for a fine", where is the letter of the council? No customer service to provide any clue or help...
