I've just got my final bill and it says…

I've just got my final bill and it says £1190..... This means they've charged me £100 less each month... I've requested a detailed bill but they didn't provide me anything with dates... I've cancelled my direct debit but I've received an email my direct debit has been reinstated... I can't believe they've done this to so many people and no legal actions has been taken....

GNE going to EDF left with huge incorrect bill

Same as everyone else, I am a pensioner who paid £25 a month with GNE until they went out of business. EDF started taking £35 a month when they took over in March . All of a sudden in the July bill EDF said I owed them £761. I have never used so much electricity or had a bill that high, ever. I have always paid every month by DD. I emailed in to complain, they have issued new bill on 18/08/2021 saying I now owe them £1,970.46. They will be taking from £35 to £ 1056 on my next bill, I have had no choice but to cancel the DD, I don't have that kind of money. I refuse to pay for their mistake as I did not use the amount they have estimated. This is absolutely disgusting and has made me so angry. They have the wrong meter reading from the start. I've provided the correct ones from the last GNE bills. Still waiting for a response from EDF. In March my closing read from GNE was 24997, my last read on 30/07/2021 was 26049. EDF want to charge me opening read of 9995 to the last read of 26049. They should not be allowed to operate a business in this manner.

GNE and EDF BIGGEST SCAMMERS EVER!!

Got transferred automatically from GNE to EDF automatically when they went bust. Took months to send me final bill and when it came it showed I owe more than £4500 !!!!!!!!!(I have been paying every month to GNE and never missed a payment!). When I looked closely to my bill I noticed they sent wrong estimate to EDF.. contacted EDF and they said they can see from the photos that GNE sent them that estimates are wrong etc.. So dispute was raised and investigation went on into this case for about 3weeks . After the investigation (during which 3 different person changed) they send me a letter saying that everything is correct and I still owe £4500. Basically it looks like GNE and EDF are working alongside and are interested in getting more than 4k out of me ... I don’t have words to describe this whole situation ..
Obviously I am going to take this further.

Anyone else who has been in similar position? Maybe we can do something together!!!!

Same thing has happened to me. Called GNE after getting a final bill saying I owe £370. Called them and requested my meter readings over the phone taken from smart meter every month I was with them. I used about 250 kWh of electric per month until January when apparently I used about 2000 kWh in one month?! My smart meter is reading at 8000 ish NOW but apparently it was at over 10,000 in January?! No, EDF I won't pay you 4 x my usual direct debit. GNF think they can get away with it because they have gone bust and Ofgem can't touch them. No doubt EDF are getting a back hander too!! We need to fight this. Write to your MP, Go to the media!

Incorrect & extortionate final bill

I'm having exactly the same problem as others, my final bill was creating using estimated meter readings which were almost 2000 units higher than what I had actually used. This supposed debt of £557 has been carried over to EDF who wanted to out my monthly DD up to £193 from £58! My current electricity meter reading is less than the estimate they took in April and I have provided photographic evidence of this but they still won't accept it.

GNE and EDF issues

GNE and EDF issues - we have exactly the same problem!! Our final bill is around £450!! The best is to cancel your DD with EDF and start a complaints procedure with them via email. We are in the process of doing this right now. Because EDF does not have access to our previous bills and statements there is no way they can insist on requesting these payments, so we will swiftly move on to communicating with the Ombudsman. We paid our DD's regularly to GNE, had a Smart meter which was activated and not once were we informed that we were behind in payments!
It is appalling what is happening to GNE customers!

LIVID!!

LIVID!!! Green network are scammers!! just called 0800 520 0202 to raise a dispute on my final bill. I've paid every month, gave all my meter readings and I have a final bill of £517.00!! absolute BS! I call EDF they give me the above number, I call and they can't do anything! how is a company just allowed to take that much money from your account?! disgusting behaviour!! What are we supposed to do now?!

Check your bills closely if you have a smart gas meter

We switched to a smart gas meter with GNE about 12 months ago. Smart meters measure in metric and old meters are generally imperial. Just noticed GNE has calculated the gas consumption as if the meter was still imperial - an overcharge by a factor of 2.83. The bill shows how its calculated - if you have a smart meter it should not show a metric conversion on the bill.

FINAL BILL DOUBLED ......Same as all customers, taken four months to change to EDF. Finale bill outrageous £600.00 Originally paid 70.00 a month, which was above as I was 220.00 in credit. Rang EDF said not our problem speak to GNE Administrators, they said the bill was calculated from the readings I gave them... Funny as I'm smart meters. HOW DO WE GET OUR MONEY BACK !!!

Lock them all up

The directors / CEO of Green Network Energy should be prosecuted and locked up. Fiddling final bills when they were about to go bust back in February 2021. They still owe me £143 that my account was in credit for before they went into administration but simply will not accept this even though I have screen shots of my account from their website before they fiddled the numbers and billed me twice!

Tried complaining to OfGem about them but was told that because they are no longer trading, there is nothing they can do.

Call in the fraud squad on this lot.

We received our final statement 2 weeks…

We received our final statement 2 weeks ago after many phone calls and e- mails asking for our closing balance.
When we received it we were in shock. Our energy consumption and subsequent bills had doubled!!! for the period on the statement.
There are only 2 of us in the house and one works full time.
We have had numerous telephone calls and e- mails with the administrators and E.D.F both of whom were refusing to help us. We were being passed from pillar to post with both accepting no responsibility.
Last week we hit a brick wall and threatened them with Ofgem and The Energy Ombudsman.
Today we have been allocated a complaints handler who has looked closely at our case.
After taking meter readings every 3 days for the last few weeks it has become obvious something is wrong with the recent bills.
It was discovered they added the day and night totals together and then added the total again, effectively doubling the bill. Our case is being investigated.
So examine your bills, check consumption and monitor your usage 3/ 4 times a week for next few weeks as this is proof of what you actually use. Threaten them with action and get a complaints handler assigned to your case.

CHECK FINAL BILLS CLOSELY

Please check your closing GNE/EDF bills very closely when receiving, got mine a couple of days ago and although showing my credit of £777.45 from my last bill in November, is only showing 1 further credit for DD payment in APR'21, not showing any credits for Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb & Mar DDs payments, therefore after the Winter usage are trying to tell me I owe then £355.91 with 5 payments vanished from my account? called the GNE number but not interested, so looking like i'm going to have to take to OFGEM for my missing £540.00. Also tariff is showing ending 17/05, so what has happened to EDF promise that all GNE customers will be on cheaper tariff until September.
Its a complete shambles

This company went bust six months ago...

This company went bust six months ago and it still gets four stars on Trustpilot! I am lucky because although my County Court judgement against them (as a GNE customer) in April last year went unpaid, I sent in the County Court bailiffs to their registered office where they enforced collection of all of the judgment debt. I did post full (factual and objective) details here but Trustpilot censored it, taking it off this site completely, because "... it contains harmful or illegal content" but refused to say what was harmful or illegal. I hope no-one has lost money as a consequence because I was prevented by Trustpilot from recounting my experience.

Update: I can still see the censored report in my account, just above an advert for Trustpilot's "transparency" policy: "Trust is in our name, and trust is at the heart of all that we do as a business". Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!

I stopped my direct debit within 4 months when it came to my attention they had closed their platform and I was unable to check and see my funds on account.

My account went over to EDF on the 2nd Feb, to date my account has not been opened.

In May GNE said they still had not handed over my details to EDF.

This cannot be true because customers details are normally handed over two weeks prior to transfer and not later than two weeks after the service is transferred.

There all schemers. liars.

On the verge of being homeless with a CCJ

I joined this company in 2018, the price was like £80 a month , this was good as I went to travel for 6 months.

Whilst I was away they emailed me saying they are adjusting my DD to £285 a month. This was also 7 days before my next payment.

I disagreed with this and wrote back to them with no response.

Whilst away also they took a CCJ out against me.

Because I was out the country and was not aware they got the claim against me. £2000

I appealed the case, 1 and a half year later and the courts 4 times have postponed. And now the company ceased.

This CCJ during this difficult period has lost me credit, and for a sole trader I could not apply for.a bounce back loan.

I cannot pass a credit check and cannot be taken on by a agency
Chased the courts since January every other week I contact them.

I have my hearing 9th june. I hope to get this removed. I submitted plenty of evidence what this company was like, after I hope I can be accepted for housing.

Closed down in the UK February halfway…

Closed down in the UK February halfway through my contract, was told I would be with EDF now.
3 months on and Green Network energy still hasn't provided EDF with my final bill so EDF can fully transfer me across.
I was a loyal customer for years and now they cant even be bothered to send a simple bill to help me out.

Avoid using its service! It's horrible!!!

This company lost the own clients who owed them money but sent wrong bills to me many times instead. And ridiculously assigned me an account with them without my permission!

Though my management company which I used, had helped provide evidence of the correct meter reading, the 'Green Network Energy' still couldn't make it right and kept sending me wrong bills multiple times!!!!!!! And still couldn't get it sorted for months.

I want to ask the management team whether you know how to record the correct meter reading. Is that so difficult to input the figures into your system?
