I am a solopreneur and always looking for good software alternatives. More to stay away from big corporate companies that already have a market share and look into mid-sized emerging companies.
Gumlet is one of those good alternatives to youtube or vimeo. I like it is easy and simple to use. I don't have a massive video library or streaming volume, but so far it has been great for my needs (host and stream videos fro me and clients and embed in websites)

it help me solve a probelma I had with amazon S3. Content deliverability on S3 is terrible for video streaming if the viewer is not close to the server. Gumlet has avideo CDN the helped me with this with a very reasonable price

WOW how great and Awesome my true video hosting platform does everything i need.

I subscribed to Gumlet because Wistia raised their prices. As a small business owner, I needed a reliable provider, but I don't need all the functionality that Wistia provides. Gumlet has been around for years and is now offering video hosting. While the platform is still being developed, it already provides everything I need like fast video playback, customizable thumbnails, and a customizable video player. The team keeps adding features and I believe it will be quite comparable to Wistia in the coming months or years. I've been very impressed so far.

Utilizing Gumlet for hosting and optimizing our media has greatly simplified our media delivery processes. Gumlet has great video analytics that supply us with critical insights into viewer habits, thus enabling us to make informed decisions aimed at expanding our audience base. They have great CDNs which decreases streaming delays and assist us in effortlessly reaching a broader audience.

My overall experience with Gumlet has been largely positive. It provided an affordable, robust and comprehensive solution that not only made video content management, transcoding, and streaming significantly more manageable, but also allowed me to extract valuable insights through its analytics.

Furthermore, there's a multitude of customization options for the player, which is quite advantageous.
If our preference is a specific resolution (for instance, 1080p), we can ensure the video is processed solely in that resolution.
This is paramount for us because we publish tutorials and we don't want users to compromise on resolution, even if it leads to some buffering.

Thus, while Gumlet excels in speed and performance, there is room for enhancement in its dashboard interface design.

I needed a fast and efficient video delivery service for a clients website. Gumlet is just that, and I was able to very quickly upload a video and generate an embed link that autoplayed and preloaded with no visible controls.

I recently started to use Gumlet Video and it is absolutely fantastic. The platform boasts of a well-structured, intuitive interface that has significantly improved the way I handle video content.

Gumlet is a fantastic video and image hosting platform. It's easy to upload, manage and embed videos and their support is great. Also the UI/UX is nice and smooth and very refreshing to use. You have all the options and tools you would need and expect in a video hosting platform. A great alternative/replacement to the bigger and more expensive apps out there (Vimeo, Wistia, etc.).

This review focuses on the Video CDN.

As a gumlet Image CDN User, the move to Video CDN was a no brainer. When gumlet had launched the (I think it was a Beta) for video last year, I had thought of checking it out- and had uploaded a couple of test videos. Life happened, I forgot all about it - but I do recall that the interface was very clean, and the menu was easy to use. I am guessing it took about 5 minutes to get up and running.

I recently signed up for the AppSumo deal for Gumlet Video CDN ; and the experience was quite the same. Recently I have set up a new blog that is seeing promising traffic- over 1,000 visitors a day, and every alternate post has a short video - served from Gumlet CDN. I hope as the traffic to the site grows, so will the ability of Gumlet to handle the requests.

On the "cons" I think I should mention here:
I did have to create a second account (I wish they fix that, and this is the reason I thought of giving 4 stars), an integrated Image + Video Dashboard would be awesome. Maybe it is there, but the automated tool at Appsumo did not allow me to use my current account.

p.s: look for a nice surprise for Video CDN Users- Some Image CDN credits every month. Great for a subdomain/ starter site.

Solid platform with a LOT of features. It's complete, the UI is clean and the UX is also very smooth. The video loading speed is great. I recommend their service for videos too, since they are also into WP business since a few years and have a solid background

Great platform, a lot of customisation (like add image on video when you upload), very happy I bought this, until now not even 1 error or slow video and that is the best plus points! Improvement: the interface could be a bit better, if you don't know Gumlet you need to search for a lot of settings or why something is happening (image on a video?) and you maybe don't want that to happen.

What's even better is the dynamic watermark in case people are that dedicated to stealing content, the watermark protects videos from being recorded by embedding the name or ID associated with the account viewing/recording the video to know who's releasing the content into the public.

This is top tier industry-grade functions available for the small-scale user.

As a former producer in entertainment, I can honestly say Gumlet is a game-changer. Individuals can become their own Netflix, with true industry-grade protection from theft. It's totally underrated, but as other platforms have failed us, it's so valuable to become in control of your content. For the price, I can honestly say Gumlet is a no brainer. The dashboard is clean, the documentation is thorough. It's developer friendly, just as it is user-friendly for non-techies.

CDN is great - but the encryption, DRM, and dynamic watermark are superb. For a fair price, you get industry-grade protection and total control of your content.

There's no auto-offloading content from Wordpress/Learndash into Gumlet. Means everything has to be uploaded into Gumlet then embedded. No big deal, it's the same thing you'd do with Wistia.

Gumlet is a full featured video platform. We're able to upload our videos, Gumlet converts it into the best format across many different outputs from 240p up to 4k and then place in their CDN so users don't get buffering. Then we can embed on our website. It's fast, the player can be customized, and you don't have YouTube trying to place other video suggestions, ads on your videos. It also costs better than Vimeo.

I have great experience with Gumlet since the pre-transcoding is on the fly and depending of my pattern I save a lot of time that preserves the video in different resolutions for fast delivery.
