Hayter Pro 48

I have had a Hayter mower for over 30 years, starts second pull 95% of the time, it’s been serviced by myself.

There was an issue this year with drive belt, I took the plunge and bought a new Hayter 48 Pro, March 2025, 2025 being very dry I have used the mower at most 5 times for around 20-25 mins at a time, 3rd time the mower was misfiring, took it back for repair, they blamed dirty fuel, but repaired it, as good will. Next time I used it something was rattling away, I took it back, it was repaired. Went to use it today and the mower was back to the first issue, rang the supplier and their first question was how old is the fuel, I said I use fuel save, erm ok bring it back. It’s only 1/2 mile from me.

So mower is back with them, petrol used is same as used to n two generators and the old mower (now repaired by me) the old mower takes two pulls to start, the pro 4/6 pulls.

Would I recommend the 48 pro, no, not with my experience

Easy to order and plenty information available on website to help with choice. Delivery to my local dealer who arranged PDI and tester for easy starting when I collected machine.

BRAND NEW Hayter harrier arrived this afternoon. Unboxed, and went to setup.
Haven’t even put fuel in it and noticed something is wrong at the front? Why won’t the wheels turn???

How this thing passed quality inspection @ Hayer is beyond me??

The front bumper bar has been fitted incorrectly (zero signs of damage) and it is acting as a break on the front wheels. So I can’t move the bloody thing.
Now having to go through returns already and I’ve had it less than 20 mins.
If I was buying a cheap B&Q mower for a few hundred pounds I might be a little more understanding but these things are more than £1k!!

Just awful!

Hawk 43 AD 60 - ordering was simple and straightforward. Ordering my free gift (strimmer) took 30 mins - 5 mins suggested).
Otherwise, delivery was quick (48 hours) and timely.
The product performs very, very well and meets all expectations. Versatile and easy to use. Excellent mower, with functions well thought out!!

Disappointed after making phone calls and a promise of someone phoning me back.
Did have one from a possible six occasions, but I was at the hospital and could not answer my phone.

Superb quality machine. I love it! It’s better than my Porsche!

Above all, the Hawk 43 is an first class mower. Excellent value for money. A capable workhorse and easy to use.

Ive had my Hayter for well ovewr 15 years and it continues to start first time and work as well as the day I bought it

Mower arrived at the local supplier. No battery. Supplier I contacted and they were unaware of the delivery they had to make.

Purchased a New Lawn Mower on line directly through Hayter, I never received correspondence saying it had been delivered to my dealer! Thankfully the dealer did contact me, and on inspection the electric start failed to work due to a faulty battery on a brand new lawn mower costing £1500. Overall not massively impressed.

delivery was to a local deal and not to our house, creating issues around pick up. There were no batteries delivered with the machine and we have subsequently had to apply for the batteries that we have already paid for??
As I write this review I have £1,200 of useless metal sat in my garage waiting for someone to decide when I can have my batteries. Altogether a fairly shambolic and unsatisfying customer experience!!

Communications have been really poor from the start. I called and the sales team were supposed to be calling me back which never happened. After placing an order for £3000 I only ever received a confirmation email; no expected delivery date and again I had to contact the agent to find out when I should expect my equipment. Pretty poor, hopefully the quality of the equipment makes up for the poor service.

I got the harrier 48 electric mower. The battery life is amazing! This was my biggest worry switching from petrol! super happy with it.

Ordered on a Monday morning my Hawk 43 AD arrived here in Highland Perthshire the following day at 11.30am. Brilliant service !!
This mower was purchased as a backup to my present Hayter 41 Petrol model, now 10 years old.
On opening the sturdy box and packing, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality build and feel of this machine. Yes, maybe more expensive than some other similar models, but I felt instantly that my investment was an excellent purchase for the money and looked forward to trying it out.
Excellent instructions made this an easy machine to set up and, with the battery fully charged, I cut my lawn two days after receipt of the mower.
Again, I was pleasantly surprised at how good the cut was and how easy the mower moved around the lawn.
I hope I’ll get as many years good service from my Hawk as I have had from my Hayter 41.
