Holm Wimbledon Park - does not worth the price
Holm Wimbledon Park is situated in a great location, and the team is very responsive when it comes to progressing a deal. However, in my opinion, the property is overpriced for what it offers, and there appears to be little to no flexibility for negotiation, as my attempt to discuss this did not receive a response.
Unfortunately, I placed the holding deposit based solely on a video viewing of the en-suite room and the interior of the flat. During my initial visit, I was informed that access to the flat itself was not possible because the current tenants were still living there, so I was instead shown a video of the en-suite and shared areas for a first floor flat. In the video, the property appeared new, tidy, and well presented.
However, upon seeing the property in person, the condition did not fully match the presentation in the video. The en-suite was not as clean as expected, and the shared kitchen area was quite untidy, with dishes left in the dishwasher and sink, food items spread across the countertops and table, and all kitchen cupboards already occupied.
I was not offered part of a refund of my holding deposit as a gesture good will given the circumstances. In fact my last email pointing my views upon physically visiting the flat was left without a response.
This ultimately made me realise that, for a similar price and with the protections provided under UK tenancy law, I could rent a studio instead in somewhere else.
