Not great but easy

Easy to use, some good perks, and good customer service. Issue is that they’re charging well over the odds - guess you’re paying a premium for the simplicity. Had some issues with the wi-fi early doors but they managed to sort it (took a few months tho)

Nice customer service, would recommend.

Overall Experience is good would recommend, the bills are slightly higher than others but it's all in package so they will sort everything out for you. Everything is sorted quickly, customer service is fast to respond also. They have discounts on shops and free coffee every week as well but one household only have 3 free coffee quotas.

Have used this company for bills this year and have had no problems whatsoever. For price I’m sure there’s cheaper but if you want reliability this is a great bills company to use

The worst place to get your bills…

The worst place to get your bills sorted. So many hidden charges, we have stopped using our heater completely and still they are sending us warning mails about over usage. And to think this is a company that was built to help students sort bills is disgusting. How are you expecting us students to pay you so much in credit? Houses on our and area are paying 300 per month in bills, our package makes us pay 416 no matter the month or the usage and still we are being told we have exceeded every month. This is the worst nightmare a student can’t go through while studying at university. The fear that the bills are going to explode at the end of the year is so scary. I pray no student takes Housr ever

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience — I’m really sorry to hear how stressful this has felt. We completely understand how important it is for students to feel in control of their bills, and I can see why the concerns around usage and charges would be frustrating.

You're currently on a Housr Variable package, which includes estimated energy allowances for gas and electricity across the year. These are based on expected usage for your property type. At the end of your contract, we compare your actual usage (tracked via smart meters) to your allowance — if you’ve used less, the difference is refunded. If you've used more, only the amount over is charged.

In your case, your gas usage is under your allowance, while your electricity usage is currently over. That said, being over on one utility doesn’t automatically mean there’ll be an extra charge — it depends on how much you’re over by, and the final balance across both utilities.

We send usage emails as a way to help you keep track and manage things proactively. We’ve also shared some energy-saving tips to support you along the way.

Going forward, we’ve moved away from variable packages for new customers — all new signups from 2025 will be on fixed-price packages for a simpler experience.

Good company, with everything included, sometimes hard to get hold of but the staff are lovely

Excellent customer service

Patrick from the customer support team was incredibly helpful and accommodating and made sure that I felt heard and understood at every step of the way. He put in the necessary measures in place immediately to relive my worries and explain the situation.

Pretty mid

They have been holding onto £300 for the last 8 months that they incorrectly billed me for and have yet to fulfil their apology with actually transferring back the £300. As a student supporting body i am disgraced that the intention of being a middle man body in property to help out students, could behave in such a manner.

They are welcome to respond to oakman’s messages that are sent as regularly as walk-ins I have with my local estate agents.

As we discussed on the phone, I’m really sorry for the frustration this has caused.

The incorrect charge was raised for a refund, but mistakenly not processed by one of our customer service representatives. I completely understand how disappointing it has been to wait for this to be resolved.
