The service was great from the beginning. The installation was brilliant. The two people who came were very efficient and so clean and tidy.

Excellent service throughout. The quality of the product is top end, and the fitting was done with great care and attention to detail to achieve the best possible seal. The fitters were professional and friendly and left everything clean and well finished.

From our initial telephone enquiry through to the visit to the house and measuring and fitting and follow up service we have been very happy with Hugo Carter and the high level of service and response.

We stared with replacing a couple of windows and were so impressed we ended up doing the entire house. The windows work beautifully and the noise reduction is significant.
A special word to the guts that installed them - real professionals from start to finish.

I live in an apartment in a warehouse conversion. On one side of the flat where the living areas are, there are beautiful views. The problem is that my bedrooms are on the other side of the building which is right on a fairly busy road. This has resulted in disturbed sleep despite triple glazing.
I opted for the secondary window option, fitted to the three good sized windows in the front facing bedrooms. They were installed a little over a week ago.
The difference is night and day. Sleep is now unaffected by road noise. I work from home in the second bedroom/home office and even when a bus or large lorry goes past, the sound is barely noticeable.
When you are this close to a road, it is not possible to completely silence noise. But cars and vans are a reduced to a quite whoosh at a maximum that is under 30 decibels. If the property was set back even slightly further I don’t think even they would be audible.
The point is that the sound that is still audible does not interfere with sleep or anything else. Sitting in the rooms is now a joy - watching but not hearing the world go by.
Expensive, yes, but worth every penny and a great company to deal with from start to finish - friendly and professional.
If you are troubled by noise these windows are life changing.

I got 12 windows installed. Fairly happy with the noise insulation of the triple glazed French windows. The sash windows are ok, they provide a good level of insulation even though somehow limited by the double glazing, which unfortunately is far from the performance of a triple glazed French window.

Disappointed by the service. I was left with a poorly finished externals sill (poorly covered in some white material vs the underlying original red colour). I was then told that this was due the poor conditions of my sill, when in fact the sill and the entire facade were redone last year.

More importantly I was charged 900+vat for the storage of one French window for 2 months.

Following some hard complaining I was given a 50% discount. Still an exorbitant figure and poor consideration for the customer following the payment in full of a substantial invoice.

Pity…

We are absolutely delighted with our new Hugo Carter windows, they are as impressive as we expected. Beautifully made and they look great. We chose this product as we live on a busy road, and the sound reduction technology seems to be doing the job very effectively.
I want to emphasise how wonderful the team were – polite, efficient, timely, hard working and incredibly tidy – it was real pleasure to have them on board. Excellent product and service, highly recommend.

High quality products, would definitely recommend to family and friends and will definitely come back to re order in the future!

I've used Hugo Carter's services for 2 different homes. They are highly competent, courteous, swift and the windows are of the highest quality. Today I made an emergency call as a guest staying in my flat had jammed a window installed in December 2022 and broke a fastener. They sent someone within the hour. He unjammed window. secured it and they will replace the fastener in due time. Their service is the most efficient. I recommend them highly to anyone looking for high quality silent windows and stellar service.

I had three downstairs casement windows installed in at the front of our house in August 2024. They have resulted in a massive reduction to the amount of traffic noise coming in. We have a minor road immediately outside our house and so the road noise is fairly intermittent compared to being in a city, but very loud when it does happen. We moved in four years ago and its been bothering me from the start. I decided to get it sorted and went for the 50db reduction option. Quality of life is already much better now. The windows look great too - we are in a conservation area and they have reproduced the look of the original windows, which have an arch across the top and so were very much bespoke. Everyone at Hugo Carter was very friendly and professional and not at all pushy. Jacob came out to do the survey and was very helpful and knowledgeable. The installers, Emil and Stepan, were extremely courteous and genuinely nice to have around the house. They were very efficient in getting the job done with minimal fuss and mess. Everyone in the office was great too and very responsive. Of course, the windows are more expensive than most, but they serve a very specific purpose and do that job very well - not every window in my house needs to be this soundproof, but a couple more at the front do and I will definitely be going back to Hugo Carter to get those done.

I am happy to share my experience and I thank Hugo Carter for solving what has been a significant problem for us for a number of years. Incessant noise from road traffic was a constant disturbance, causing sleepless nights and making conversations in the living room nearly impossible. I found Hugo Carter amongst internet search results when looking for a solution to the >80db road traffic noise suffered for over 3 years. Upon contacting Hugo Carter and explaining my issue, they arranged a site visit and noise survey and discussed their recommended solution of silent windows secondary glazing, which I am very pleased to say, now that they are installed, has brought a tranquillity to the living room and bedrooms that is truly commendable (noise levels are now 20 to 30db). The product quality, coupled with the excellent customer service and outstanding installation, make me wish I had contacted them years ago. It’s been worth the large investment to be able to get a decent night’s sleep and to have a normal conversation in the living room. Their windows are a quality engineered product ( installed by their own craftsmen. A benefit I have not yet experienced but am expecting come winter is warmer rooms and lower heating bills. Project Manager Tom from Hugo Carter Edinburgh and Sarah from head office were excellent - they were professional, attentive, informative, and ensured the questions I had were addressed promptly and to my satisfaction. The workmanship of the installation team of Bogdan and Andrew was impressive – they were polite , arrived on time, took great care to protect furnishings and floors, removed all rubbish and waste and left the place spotless after completing a first-class installation job (9 secondary glazing windows installed in 4 days) and the installed windows look amazing. I would definitely recommend speaking to Hugo Carter if you have an environmental noise pollution problem. The advice they provided about the science behind how noise travels, how excessive noise can affect your health and how their sound reducing windows work was really eye opening. Even with their higher price point than alternatives I am happy that I chose Hugo Carter – they delivered what they promised, exceeded my expectations and the process of enquiry, survey, discussion, ordering, installation and aftercare was stress free. Very pleased

We're delighted with our new double glazed, timber, sash and cash windows! We got quotes from 10+ companies to replace original S&C windows with modern, energy efficient ones, that were compliant with council conservation area regulations. Quotes and product quality ranged hugely, and while Hugo Carter was at the higher end (still cheaper than Everest:) we were sold on the product quality and professionalism of the team. Tom guided us through the whole process, and impressed us with his expertise. The negotiation process was fair and never pushy, and we were kept up to date at every stage. The installation team were excellent, real craftsmen, they worked quickly and cleanly fitting all 12 windows in a week (working long days to get it done). Despite it being fairly major work, it wasn't nearly as disruptive as we feared and we were really impressed with their professionalism. We're delighted with the result (it's noticeably warmer and quieter in the house) and very happy we decided to make the investment. 

Super pleased with the results - and great service from the get go! I live on a major London road and the window has significantly lowered the sound of the traffic and general noise from a busy street below my bedroom. I now have a better nights sleep and feel more confident about renting or selling the property in the future.

Great product, fantastic and clean installation.

We had modern sash windows replaced with Hugo Carter imitation sash windows to reduce road noise from a busy road at the front of our property. The new windows arrived on time, are high quality and reduced the road noise to the levels promised during the survey. The fitting team were brilliant and not only did an excellent job removing and fitting the new windows, they were polite, very hardworking, neat and clean (no mess left). The admin time did a great job of communicating the whole time from purchase to fitting and all the stages in between. Great company, not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for!

We are extremely happy with our two new windows and doors that we have had fitted. Our house is very near the tube line and the silent windows have provided a huge benefit. We have noticed a considerable reduction in noise. The process from start to finish was excellent and the the windows are of a very high quality. Would definitely recommend.

High quality sash windows which have made a big difference to sound and heat. The whole team were very professional and the process from quoting to installation was easy and well done.

After 7 emails, various calls, 2 text messages and an onsite visit, Silent Windows decided they could not help me with a quote for replacing my windows with double glazed ones with soundproofing.

My first call was to request a quote. I was told an onsite visit was required for a quote. I later received a call where I was asked if I was prepared to pay £5000 per window before confirming the appointment for a quote. I thought that was an outrageous caveat, yet I went along with it as I wanted to see a fully detailed quote and how it would differ from others for the same job. I sent measurements for 8 windows though the house has more than 8 windows. The Managing Director himself on Trustpilot has fabricated that I demanded a quote for 10 windows which I categorically did not. I sent the same text, measurements, drawings and photos to three other companies and they promptly provided a quote for the 8 windows I measured.

Hugo Carter are time and energy wasters with poor communication and service providing skills.
