I've been working here for over seven years, and this is my full-time job, so you can imagine how happy I am. Tutor ABC gives me a lot of freedom, which is something I truly value. Five months ago, I had twins, and the company was incredibly supportive when I needed to cancel my classes. I genuinely like working here.

Scheduling
The company allows teachers to cancel a session up to four hours in advance without penalty, which is a great policy.

Payment
The company offers competitive compensation. The pay per session is higher than that of most online language institutes.

Training
TutorABC provides training materials such as slides, videos, examples, quizzes, and assignments through its training portal. You can always refer back to these resources to refresh your memory about specific programs or teaching theories.

My only suggestion for the training program is to include more practical games and activities for teaching listening, reading, speaking, and writing.

Materials
There is significant room for improvement in the self-produced materials. They often lack visual appeal, clear structure, and sufficient mechanical and meaningful exercises. Occasionally, you may even come across spelling or grammar mistakes.

I also find myself spending extra time sourcing external materials to supplement the assigned content in order to enhance the lesson and ensure there’s enough material to cover the full session duration.

I recommend that a professional curriculum writer be brought in to revise and upgrade all self-produced materials in order to enhance their overall quality.

TutorABC makes it easy to get into teaching online. They provide the materials so teachers don't need to make anything. They provide the students. They provide the training. Just book some time when you're available and teach. I mostly worked with kids. The students are based in Taiwan, so you need to book hours during time when students are looking for classes.

Pros:

Training

Teacher Community
There’s a forum where teachers can share ideas, ask questions, and connect. Many experienced teachers are happy to offer support, and Teacher Representatives help communicate with management.

Mentorship
Mentors are available to support teachers with any challenges and also step in when there are low ratings or complaints. I’ve had three mentor sessions, which really helped me get a better feel for student expectations, the platform, and how to approach lessons more effectively.

Flexible Scheduling
Teachers set their schedules monthly, with a minimum of five Prime Time sessions per week. You can add more sessions whenever you like, which gives a nice level of flexibility.

Cons:

Group Class Continuity
In adult group courses, students book individually rather than sticking to a set schedule. With a rotating group of up to four students, it can be tricky to build continuity or a steady group dynamic.

AI-Generated Lesson Material
Some of the materials work well, but others need improvement. While teachers can adapt the content, students often expect every slide to be covered. Materials are released only four hours before class, and you can only make edits within 10 minutes before the lesson starts — having more prep time and flexibility would make a big difference.

I've been woriking for this company for almost 10 years now. I've seen many changes over the years, some good, some not so much, but the last few years have been only positive. I started it as a temporary thing, now it's a career, the best career I could've ever thought. At the beginning there were some not so great things, but I can't think of any now. There is great support for teachers, there is a great community, always ready to help, the payment is good, the schedule is flexible, or can be a steady one if that's your preference. I would say the company has teacher-oriented policy, providing training, understanding issues and the communication is great. The students are from different countries, all very good and eager to learn. It's a pleasure teaching them, yet, it is never repetitive. Every day brings new experiences you can learn from and grow, new smiles, new ideas, new ways of inspiration. I am extremely lucky to have found such an amazing opportunity that keeps on giving, that is rewarding and makes a difference in people's lives for the better!
Also, you can work from anywhere, not only home, but this can be problematic due to unstable connections, noise, etc.
However, it can be very challenging for people to work from home, not everyone has the desire and discipline required. It may not be easy to focus on work from your living room, to not get distracted, to always be physically by yourself. It will require more efforts to stay active, to keep in touch with friends and family.
It works for me, I love it! I'm still with TutorABC, almost10 years and counting!

I just started working for this company for about a month and I've only had the chance to teach two classes so far even though I've made myself available for more than 8 hours a day for five days a week. I also invested a lot of time into completing the required training videos/workshops and haven't seen a return on my investment yet.

My profile video still hasn't been approved because of vague reasons that doesn't directly address what needs to be fixed.

Overall I have had a great experience with the two classes that I have taught. The material provided is excellent and leads to great conversations with the students. I just hope I get more classes soon or I won't be able to continue with this platform.

I've been with this company for many years now and frankly in a time of covid and being a none native, finding work was difficult but then TABC hired me and I've been with them since.

They've made a lot of changes in that time, and some I've not liked, but many I have. The company is quite fair with its employees. Though I do wish we weren't penalised for closing the time slots of unbooked classes.

The platform is easy to use, and behind the scenes things work mostly seamlessly. They have a great forum that provides help to most things.

I've enjoyed working for them these past few years and hope the next few are just as good!

TutorABC is a company that supports and takes care of their teachers and students. I feel happy and comfortable working here and I have an ease of mind. And the CPD is something we have regularly and I enjoy that a lot!

I just started last week with tutorABC and I was so nervous on how to conduct my lessons. Thank goodness there's training and courses in literally everything e.g game ideas, classroom management, how to use the tools, even explanations on the types of students.
However, I still would like a mentor. It's difficult getting/ finding a mentor. Thats why I give it 4 stars.

I have been with TutorABC for almost a year, and I really cannot express my beautiful experience with words. I have been also doing my master's simultaneously; TutorABC has been the best workplace with its flexible schedule. Plus, its training portal is amazing! It offers a wide range of courses, some of which also includes real lesson examples. I feel much more confident as a teacher thanks to TutorABC. I hope to be part of it as long as possible! :)

I've worked for ABC for the last 5 years and it's allowed me flexibility for my working life. I get a relatively consistent schedule, can cancel in a reasonable timeframe and believe the platform is the best I've come across in my online teaching period.

I've been teaching with TutorABC on and off since 2019 . In Sept 2024 I rejoined to teach full time. This was the best decision! TutorABC is, in my opinion, by far the best company to teach at (in person or online).
The platform is easy and teacher friendly to use; the rates are competitive with completion bonuses. I like the flexibility of choosing my own hours, and at this school, it actually means you are in control of your own hours - which is refreshing and rewarding.
The company uses well known curriculums like Cambridge, Oxford University Press, National Geographic and Barron's IELTS and TOEC. As a teacher, you know you are teaching legitimate curriculum, which is student centred and linear. Management is always available to help, which is very assuring. Furthermore, the school has a Child Safeguarding policy and training that all teachers must complete and pass.
I would highly recommend TutorABC as an online school. It's growing and always seeking new partners to grow and improve, hence my Five Stars.

What impresses me the most bout Tutor ABC is that they are constantly improving their platform for both students and teachers. Materials are continuously being updated to give the client the best learning experiences and development. The teachers have instant support and continuous training to help them be the most professional educators online. For these reasons, I believe this is the best online learning platform available.

I have been with TutorABC for almost two years as an educational contractor (teacher). I came from a 6 year stint with another company. TutorABC compensates it's contractors well. They have ample training. Communications are so much better than with my last company. I have enjoyed the opportunity to learn more. I also like that we have mentors to help us navigate weaknesses and grow professionally.

As a teacher at TutorABC, I am most impressed with the Diverse topics and teaching materials as well as Ongoing training in both professional and personal development. The company also offers great courses to students that are suitable for all ages and levels. We are a diverse group of teachers who support, guide, and encourage each other.

I've been working with TutorABC for 9 years so far. I enjoy working from home and teaching very polite, professional students who are eager to learn. The company provides great support, and overall I am very satisfied.

I really enjoy the flexibility that this job allows me as someone that travels often. Additionally, I enjoy that the pay is based on experience and there are many different avenues of teaching you can do with different age groups. There are additional free courses to further your progress as well.

I've been with the TutorABC company for quite some time actually since August 2015. I was so good, I was made into a Senior Consultant, and a Master Demo Consultant.
I was even selected to go to Shanghai to help them set up the Demo section of the company. I went back to Taiwan section of the group, invited by Jacko Chang, on the understanding I would regain my status, but that never happened. He then left the company when we got new management. and directors.
In those years the company has undergone many changes and continued to evolve and keep up with the industry trends. Sadly, since last September I have watched my hours and income dwindle to 35% of what I used to have. Maybe it's because of algorithms and Ai who knows?
The communication system was changed, and the only form of communication is now by internal emails. Before that we used to have Tutorchat, so if you had any problem, you had the ability to contact them immediately.
Today, teachers get to have schedule flexibility, (but we always have), along with opportunities for professional development and growth.
Whilst I have been in this teaching drought, I have completed many of their educational courses I am still awaiting hopefully to see if things improve!
Sadly, when you are booked for eleven hours and only have two or three scheduled, it does depress you.
I am looking forward to seeing what the future brings. Remember you are consultant, so there are no benefits.
TABC has always looked after it's consultants, but shouldn't they? Richard Branson the English billionaire says" Staff should always come first-before the customer". Sadly, as a consultant, we are not treated as well as the full-time staff. I hope and pray that TABC will prove me wrong.
