Please look elsewhere

I've been using them for a while and my problem is with the few rare instances when shipping isn't done correctly. I've emailed them multiple times, gave them more than a week to reply and they just ghosted me. I dont understand why this company just doesn't make the changes. I asked them to send my items in 2 different boxes and chose small air parcel, they said it would cost 1200 yen for a redo and that is fine with me but they have not made these changes and do not reply to emails asking for an update. This is just scary because they have my items hostage and the only thing I can do is accept whatever shipping they selected which is really expensive.

Beware of Jpn-depot!!

This is the worst parcel-forwarding company I have ever used. Their website has a ‘shipping cost calculator’ that gives you an estimate based on the weight of the package and shipping method. There’s nothing on their website that says a box over a certain size/dimension is not able to be shipping via surface. So not knowing much about Japanese postal regulations, I ordered a bunch of stuff from various sites. It was only after I tried to ship my items out from Jpn-depot that I found out the box was too big for surface. They only gave me one choice for shipping which was well over $100, and with all the misc handling/consolidation fees came out to be over $200. Since now they had my things in hostage they were essentially non-responsive to my questions. Had I known this was the outcome I probably would not have purchased the items via Jpn-depot. I had shipped another package out at the same time from them, and found out it was missing one of the items. I contacted them, and after some time they said if they couldn’t find the item they would give me a refund. That was days ago and I have not heard from them since. What a scam!

I can confirm the previous reviews The worst company I ve ever seen they are professionals robbers take your items if they are looking for them refuse the reimbursement so the risk is that you loose your items and you loose your money. Is only the site that could be as look professionals but they are false the positive review are put there by them

The collectors Thieves

They are hold your items bad communication and when your items can be valuable for them they don't send anything and tell you that they are not able to find them in their storage even if they got the pic of your items in their warehouse They are liar and completely inadeguate they refuse to refound you essentialy they are thieves

Avoid this Company Danger

The worst company. They are professional thieves so if you are sending them your rare items probably you will receive a comunication that they are not able to find your package when you will require the expedition but they have clearly received it and take your items for them or for reselling, it happens only with rarest items that you have sent to them so be careful avoid them save your items and save your money

They ignore you if you have any issues, and hold your items hostage.

They don't reply to inquiries you make about your packages and purchases. I've written them about three or four times now, and the first time they sneakily fixed their mistake WITHOUT replying, and the other times they've simply ignored me. Now they're holding my items, which I've paid upfront for, hostage.

I don't recommend anyone use this site. Please don't be fooled by their website which looks relatively professional compared to other deputy services. I've used quite a few, and this is the worst one.

JPN Depot is the best!

I recently decided to go with JPN Depot as a Japanese forwarding service since I wanted to join the official fan club of my favorite music artist, he is Japanese so I had to figure out a way to get a Japanese address to get the premium fan club gifts shipped to in Japan and JPN Depot seemed like the best option. There are a few more options out there from bigger forwarding companies but I like supporting smaller ones plus JPN Depot has more affordable prices.

They took about 9 days to get the fan club gift I was waiting for. What impressed me was that unlike other Japan import companies I have done business with they actually take a photo of the item you are waiting for to prove they have the item. Usually other Japan import companies do not do that or charge extra for that. I really thought that was amazing!

After me confirming they had my item, international shipping options were made available. I chose what I wanted, I went with EMS you don't have to pay extra for tracking/insurance on that option because EMS automatically comes with tracking unless you want to insure your items. My items didn't have actual real value. They were just small mementos. I waited but a day (maybe less) and they finally shipped out. Once it was shipped internationally it arrived in the US within 1 day or 2. Very quick.

I've been using JPN Depot for close to 2 years and haven't had any major issues or lost packages so far. I've had well over 20 orders shipped to their warehouse and they've usually updated about packaging cost and shipment within reasonable time. The customer service is ok but sometimes they do take a couple days to respond. There was one instance I've had where I received no response or update from them well over 3 weeks and had 2 orders I'd been waiting for them to update the shipping cost on. Turns out they were renovating the warehouse and I only found this info from a blog post on their site and they hadn't sent any word on why it was taking so long to manage orders. Also I've had about 2 instances where I've had to email them for an update on whether my order had arrived at their warehouse and only then did they update it on the site. Overall, the service is ok but I feel there are better proxy services out there. Their fees are relatively low and I haven't had any package lost or damaged so far.

Don't shop here. I did and I regret it.

This place is really bad. I read these reviews and I thought I'd try again as I'd previously had a good experience with them. Big mistake. Their interface is appalling, they take a long time to respond, and above all they charge through the roof and apply a number of mysterious fees. I wanted to have my parcels consolidated so I requested that. I then discovered that they had applied two separate fees 'repacking' and 'consolidation'. Surely there is no difference? Apparently because the repacking fee was for a new box. Any reasonable person would think that consolidation includes everything necessary to put parcels together in one box. There shouldn't be another fee.
I emailed them about this and they were completely unapologetic and blamed me for not understanding their murky fees. I asked a number of times for them to waive it, and I explained how they were being misleading. Nevertheless, no result.
These people do not value your business at all, and I'd strongly discourage you from using them if you need things delivered. Use Buyee or another service, they will charge highly however at least they will serve you better.

Manage Your Expectations

So, I used JPN Depot for some things in 2017/2018 and had an overall positive experience with them. There was even something I had forgotten about that had sat at their warehouse for a couple of months that they didn't throw away.

At the time I had transferred money for an auction I had lost (about ~35 USD) and had some difficulty getting it returned to my account, so I just let it sit and forgot about it.

Cut to now and I tried again to bid on some auctions and lost again, and got a little nervous as I remembered the difficulty I had in getting my 35 back, only this was a more significant amount of money.

I only ever tried contacting them thorough the contact form, as I had better luck getting responses to fresh inquiries rather than replies to previous emails sent. It was I think 4 comments total, but they did process my deposit within the week.

I did somewhat get the sense that they were overwhelmed, which I understand. If you need something from them the best way is to be as direct and concise as possible (eg the 'i need a refund --> what is your paypal email (because they only process orders through paypal) --> my paypal email is blablabla' can become 'i need a refund here is my paypal email'

One thing that I wish was a bit more clear is that their auction bidding service is less reliable on the weekends, as they are closed and unable to bid.

There's a lot of people on here upset with them, and I understand why. But give them a lot of patience and gentle nudges and don't use them for anything you need in a hurry and you'll be fine.

Used to be trustworthy, nowadays not anymore.

Original post: I used to trust this service for a lot of orders in 2018 and 2019 and was very happy back then. After a short break I returned to use their services in 2020 and they have become very untrustworthy. I know the Covid situation has made a lot of things harder and service can be slower, but it has been more than half a year without even a message back on the issue with my orders! I have multiple items lost with them since October 2020 and they are not communicating on their contact form, social media or e-mails. AVOID USING THEM AT ALL COSTS! They used to be good, but I am not sure if they have become a scam or if they are simply overwhelmed in increase in popularity for their services. However it is unacceptable to not even reply to messages for more than half a year!

At this moment I don't know if there is any way to get my items. I am on the edge of opening PayPal cases for my lost items, but that would mean that my still pre-ordered (and not able to order anywhere else anymore) items through them will be 100% canceled/destroyed for sure.

With more recent update: After I opened a PayPal case for the longest lost item, they suddenly started getting into gear to find missing items from me, however they are doing it in such a way where I feel like they are trying to squeeze as much fees out of me as possible. For example: 2 items that were shipped together were suddenly 2 'loose' shipments so they asked for a repacking fee on top of the standard packing fee. Then the second the 30 days of storage are over and the package with the 2 items ships 'suddenly' they find another loose item from me. And they keep on playing this game so items come in super slow and I have to pay as much repacking and shipping fees as possible.

Oh! And I even forgot to mention above, but JPN depot never replied on e-mails or social media messages from me, what I describe above is simply changes on their website informing me about the items. I am literally begging them everywhere (even in the comment fields of shipments) to please talk to me, but they aren't. I am actually kind of surprised at this moment they are still 'finding' items from me and haven't decided to just close down.

If it wasn't for them buying a lot of extremely rare/hard to get items I wouldn't accept this. For now I grin and bear and hope that they find my last missing items, of which one of them was literally a one of a kind...

*edit* If it wasn't clear enough yet I DON'T RECOMMEND ANYONE to use this proxy service! JPN depot still claims on their website and social media they only have a delay of a month or so, but this is not true.

Good experience

I made 2 orders with their “Buy for me” feature. They took a long time to ship but when they did they sent pictures when they arrived.
The orders were very small, 2 items each. (I made a larger request for an order that was never approved.)
When all the items arrived at the facility, I had it shipped to the US, the fees were high but not unreasonable, $50US ($33 shipping/ $17 fees) for about 1100g using the EMS service, which they used FedEx. The package showed up at my door 24 hours later. Everything I ordered was included. Never had anything ship that fast!

I didn’t deal with their customer service. I couldn’t get any US based cards to work on Japanese websites so I didn’t ship anything to their facility using the address provided. The fees were low for the “buy for me” - the largest was the calculated transaction fee, which was still only a few dollars.
If you use the “buy for me” keep it a couple items. They don’t want to work on orders with a lot of items I guess.
If you have a complicated order (based on other reviews)- use another site!!

Horrible experience. Beware

I've used this company once before without any problems in summer of 2020 and decided to use them once again, only to have a terrible experience.

I ordered something during the beginning of February to be shipped to the address, and it took over 2 weeks for Jpn-Depot to process that it has arrived (shipping in Japan domestically takes 2 days max). Relieved that it actually arrived, I requested for my item to ship immediately. It has been over 1 week without updates whatsoever. I've contacted the company 4 times the past month with no response whatsoever either. I've also tried calling and no one has picked up.

My item is close to $400, and I'm still praying that they haven't lost it or taken it or done something with it. I'm deeply disappointed with the company and certainly did not expect this level of horrible service with a Japanese company. My item at the moment is still in their warehouse (hopefully), and I've been waiting for it for a long time.

Awful experience, UNRELIABLE COMPANY

Used their postal address to send 47 products which cost 103170 yen; Package delivered with tracking number.

After that, they send me invoice for the shipment and they never did anything after that except ignore us.
Not answering emails, facebook and phone calls !!! I will lodging complain to Consumer Affairs Japan. Their service is unacceptable, i don't recommend this company at all

Poor communication and service

It took over a month to ship my items. In the meantime I had to follow up with them many times but they usually ignore my messages and did not explain the cause of delay. Poor communication and customer service. At one stage I was very worried as they don't reply and answer my phone call. When I read other reviews, some people never received their items so considering it, I was still lucky as I receive my item eventually.
As a Japanese person, I am considering lodging complains to Consumer Affairs Japan. Their service is unacceptable and they should never treat customers like this. I don't recommend this company at all. I will use different forwarding companies in the future.
Good bye JPN-Depot, you lost your customer forever.

Mercari purchase still pending shipment over 1 month later

I made a Mercari purchase through them. Over a month later, the item is still marked as 'Waiting' even though payment has gone through and it does not usually take THAT long for a seller to ship the package (in all my previous experiences with buying from Mercari) to the warehouse address. I have tried to contact them via email and their contact form at their website but all my queries have been ignored. I've been using their services for quite some time but this has severely affected my trust towards them. From what I've read online, it seems that the quality of their customer service has dropped since the recent pandemic started and there were quite a few people who tried to contact them about problems but never got a reply. To be fair, many noted that they've had an ok experience up to that point.

I will not be using their services anymore once I'm done with my current batch of orders.

UPDATE: Just wanted to update that my issue has been resolved - the item has finally arrived at their warehouse. I'm beginning to suspect that it might have been lost somewhere in their inventory because there's no way the Japanese seller did not promptly ship the package within a few days. I also believed that the situation improved only through my relentless emails to JPN-Depot's customer service from multiple email accounts hoping that they'd draw attention to the matter. Worth noting, JPN-Depot never actually responded at all. I simply received an automatic notification one day that my item had arrived at the warehouse.
