I used the KeyNest point at Porte de Vincennes (Paris 20) for a rental flat. The physical service mostly worked, but be very careful with the pricing.

My account sat on "Pay As You Go", which charges EUR 6.95 EVERY time the key is collected, plus daily storage fees. With tenant turnover, each changeover means several collections (cleaner, then tenant), so a single changeover costs multiple fees. Over my time as a customer this added up to 32 collection charges (EUR 222.40) plus storage - including 10 collections in a single month (EUR 69.50).

KeyNest themselves say a monthly subscription is better value beyond 2 collections a month. I passed that threshold in six different months. All of it was visible on my account, and nobody ever suggested I was on the wrong plan.

When I raised it, support told me in writing that the charges "may not have been fully clear" and apologised - while at the same time insisting the pricing was clearly displayed. They also confirmed one of their own agents had given me incorrect pricing information. Despite that, they refused any credit and called it their "final position".

The KeyNest Point itself was also repeatedly unavailable (closure for works, an exceptional closure, changed opening hours, and a temporary closure), which KeyNest declines responsibility for because the store is independently run.

The service works, but check which plan you are on before you commit, and do the maths on how many collections you will actually need. Two stars rather than one because the key exchange itself did function.

Après plusieurs utilisations du service sans problèmes, un invité vient a 23h dans l'épicerie habituelle récupérer ma clef : le code qui m'a été envoyé est refusé. L'épicier fait plusieurs essais, pas moyen de récupérer la clef. Je suis à l'étranger, impossible pour mon invité (non francophone) de me prévenir (décalage horaire) ou de contacter le numéro d'urgence : il a dû trouver un hébergement en urgence a 23h.
J'envoie un mail le lendemain au sav de keynest qui me répond "nous sommes désolés pour le désagrément". c'est tout ! pas d'explications sur ce dysfonctionnement, pas de proposition de bon de réduction ou autre (j'ai un abonnement à l'année). je m'interroge sur la fiabilité du service pour mon prochain dépôt de clef...

I wanted to try this service for a single AirBnB guest. So far, I have been charged 6.95 euros 9 May, 7.84 euros 29 May and 25.90 euros ( "storage fee" for 21 days ) on 19 June. That is just for deposit and withdrawal of one guest, and then myself. Over 35 euros for this service is excessive.

Worried KeyNest is going to take more money from my account I decided to withdraw my bank card details. This is impossible to do on their site.

Apart from the excessive charges there is a lack of transparency about this company I find distrubing.
