Bait and Switch, ignores emails. Curt.
This company has a lovely website with a range of very attractive products. A friend recommended them for a very specific 2018 Negroamaro at a reasonable price so I made an order and looked forward to the wine arriving.
It was with some confusion that the wine that arrived was a 2020. When I queried this the owner, Giancarlo Moretti initially completely ignored my emails but after some prodding eventually replied with a curt "We apologize for the inconvenience regarding the vintage of Negroamaro 7210 new vintage is 2020
But the quality still very good" (sic).
Now here's the thing. The wines are very different AND it's not what I ordered. This is commonly known as a bait and switch. He is still advertising the wine I ordered on his website but is shipping another (cheaper) one in it's place.
I guess the lesson here is that you cannot trust this supplier to deliver the correct product. I would suggest that if you buy from them, it is with the understanding that you may not receive what you've ordered.
On the plus side, the delivery was excellent.
I wont be ordering from them again though. That's a real shame as I genuinely like what's on offer.
