This is where I learned Dutch when I arrived in the Netherlands and I had a truly fantastic time. My partner tagged along and we were always excited to go to the lessons in the evening (a tiny bit less when it was raining heavily on us biking there ;) ) Jeroen is a really good teacher, patient, fun and full of knowledge.

Jeroen is an exceptional teacher. His classes are unlike anything I'd experienced before — rather than leaning on textbooks and curriculum, he focuses on learning through actually speaking, which makes for lessons that are as fun and engaging as they are effective. I made real progress. Beyond his teaching, he's a genuinely warm person who clearly cares about everyone he works with. I couldn't recommend him more highly.

Amazing classes, I did mine with Alex which was very nice, easy to talk to and taught me how to not be scared to speak Dutch!

I took 2 courses with Jeroen and he has always been an amazing teacher - he brings a unique way of teaching Dutch, which really focuses on communication and the practicalities of the languages and not just rote learning of methods and grammar.
He brings a lot of fun, energy and enthusiasm into his lessons, and I learnt a lot from him.

I had a good grasp on Dutch coming into the lessons but needed to pull what I knew together and start actually speaking in grammatically correct sentences. The A2 course really pushed me to a truly conversational level. Like with learning any language what you do outside of the classroom matters most and Jeroen made that easy by providing extra reading materials and making you feel comfortable to go out in your community and speak to people. I’m currently continuing to improve my Dutch for professional purposes and still use his materials.

I took all 3 courses that the School for Dutch offers and couldn't be more pleased. The fact that grammar is only covered to the extent that is needed for speaking is a huge plus for me. Classes are quite dynamic and the groups are big enough to increase interaction with other students but still small enough to keep things gezellig. Also, Jeroen is not only a great and engaging teacher, but also a genuinely kind person. Going to evening Dutch class after work never felt like a chore which is truly saying something. I highly recommend the School for Dutch for anyone trying to navigate the language and overall cultural integration.

When I moved to the Netherlands in 2018 my parents got recommended this school for their dutch lessons. Their dutch improved significantly after being taught by Jeroen, as Jeroen teaches very naturally by teaching speaking first followed by reading and writing

Jeroen makes learning Dutch a fun experience. I recommend this course if you are an expat with limited time and energy, but enough will to learn the basics of the Dutch language and start speaking in your daily life.

Very effective natural-language approach that prioritises conversation. It really works! Jeroen is a phenomenal teacher and very kind - the environment is nice and the structure of the lessons helped me a lot learning the language without too much stress on grammar. Highly recommended!

This is definitely the best school I've attended in the 12 years I've lived in Amsterdam. It's the only one that uses a natural learning method, meaning speaking first, followed by writing and rules. It's exactly what children do when they learn a new language.
Jeroen is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and prepared, always ready to help you and repeat things over and over until they stick in your head.
What can I say... I learned more in one course at this school than in all the other courses I've taken so far... so many I can't even remember the number...
