This company marketed a property for rental, at Vilar Do Golf Resort in Quinta Do Lago, with a representation on the Airbnb listing which stated: “baby accessories and accessibility aids: complimentary and available on request.”
The resort repeatedly failed to confirm availability of a cot, which is essential for my young son, leaving me no alternative but to cancel the booking and raise a complaint via Airbnb.

Thank you for your review. We would like to mention a few important points and appreciate the opportunity to clarify the situation.
The listing clearly states: “Baby accessories and accessibility aids: complimentary and available on request.” This wording means that these items may be requested by guests but are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed in advance, which is standard practice across the hospitality industry.
When you contacted the resort regarding a baby cot, the property team explained their policy that they are unable to guarantee cots prior to arrival due to internal procedures and liability considerations. However, they also noted that in the vast majority of cases, a cot is available when requested.
You cancelled your reservation prior to arrival, and the stay therefore never took place. We always aim to communicate property policies clearly and work closely with our partners to provide accurate information to guests.

We had a great stay. Beautiful area. The hot tub was fantastic. As mentioned in the other reviews, there are not many restaurants or stores nearby. We stopped in Smyrna on our way for groceries and it was an easy drive to the Caverns for a show. Would definitely stay again."

We had a really lovely stay at this lodge. It was spotlessly clean, tidy, and thoughtfully laid out, which made it feel welcoming from the moment we arrived. The space worked really well for us as a family — having a TV in the bedroom was a real bonus, especially with our child sleeping on the sofa bed in the lounge. It meant we could properly relax in the evenings without disturbing anyone. We also made great use of the pool and the leisure centre facilities — everything was well maintained and added so much to the break. All the staff we encountered were genuinely friendly and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. We’d happily stay again and would definitely recommend it to others.

Me sentí muy complacida con el tiempo pagado por estar en el resort; primero, el apto estaba bien limpio, con todo lo que se necesita para pasar una estancia saludable y tranquila. La cocina bien equipada, así como los baños, también tienen toallas, colchas y almohadas extra.
La opción de pescar fue maravillosa; en el pier se pesca bien, incluso tienen agua, cuchillos y tablas para limpiar y lavar los pescados Tienen cancha de tenis y una piscina limpia y muy buena. The host was really great with everything! There were timely auto-sent notes with all the information you need...but when my travel plans were messed up due to flight issues and missing baggage, they really stepped up and were in communication with me working on a solution. Leavetown Vacation's really provided superb customer service. I stay in a lot of short term rentals and they are top notch!

They will nickle and dime you so beware.
We had a nice stay until we left the property and received an invoice for $25 for excessive cleaning, which were due to crumbs left on the stove. There was no vacuum on the premises to vacuum up a mess nor was their a drying rack to allow cleaned dishes to dry so we had to leave drying dishes on the stove which they took for being dirty. They will nickle and dime you for additional charges so beware.

The additional cleaning fee was applied due to the condition the property was left in. Our team noted excessive crumbs on the stove that could have been easily wiped up, as well as dishes placed on the stove that did not appear clean. In addition, the trash bin was found to be overflowing, with extra rubbish left on the floor. These factors required additional cleaning time beyond our standard turnover.
We always aim to be fair and transparent with our charges, and these fees are only applied when extra cleaning is necessary. We do appreciate your feedback regarding the availability of cleaning supplies and dish drying options, and will take this into consideration for future improvements.
Cancelled reservation day of
Worst experience ever, do not book with them . They cancelled my reservation day of booking +two hours before arrival. On the website there was a crib available, and leading up to the booking they said that a crib cannot be guaranteed. I asked them over and over to either tell me if there was a crib or not prior to arrival, to which they refused. I described this akin to booking a four bed apartment and being told beds were subject to availability but not telling us if there would be a bed day of. They cancelled so I would not leave them a bad review and left us without accommodation. This trip was for my baby to meet my dying grandfather and the whole family are devastated. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM! They are heartless, cold and cruel individuals.

Thank you for your feedback. To clarify, we did our best to communicate clearly ahead of your arrival that a crib/cot is not guaranteed, as it is subject to availability. We understand how important this was for your stay, which is why we offered the option to cancel free of charge while you were still within the cancellation window if the arrangement did not meet your needs.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the communication that followed, including repeated threats and inappropriate language toward our team, the matter was escalated to Airbnb support. After reviewing the situation, Airbnb made the decision to cancel the reservation and issue a full refund.
We want to assure you that cancellations are never taken lightly, and this action was only taken after careful consideration and in line with platform policies to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both our guests and staff.
We do sincerely regret the inconvenience caused and wish you and your family all the best.
