Have gone to Leightons opticians twice…
Have gone to Leightons opticians twice now for my eye test and have found them the best so far after many years.
Possibly more expensive than others but the customer care is in my view is very good

I went in for some new frames
I went in for some new frames. I booked an appointment with the Style Consultant. The Stylist was so helpful and allowed me to try on frames that suited me and frames that did not. I eventually found a pair of frames that suited me.

Lovely Experience
Had exhausted all the Newbury Opticians to get 18 year old daughter glasses. As soon as I walked in I thought the range on offer was great. Employee also brought out trays for teenagers and this is where she found the “ones”!
We were attended to by Albert for the fitting. I do not think we have laughed so much in so long. He was brilliant. He also told us the history of Leightons and still family owned. He contacted our other Opticians so my daughter could use her NHS discount.
The atmosphere in the shop with all the staff is so friendly and they all seem to get on well.
I love quite bright coloured glasses and they have a great stock, I will definitely be back when I need an upgrade.

Outstanding service and support
Everyone was very kind, and very PROFESSIONAL.
Sukhvinder Takhar did the eye exam, and he was very good, and very friendly. Made me feel at ease.
I then sat with Albert, and I was shown some frames, and he took some measurements.
What I was taken with by Albert, on how he easily switched from business to friendly. I truly think Albert would make an amazing Leighton's trainer on customer service and support. His demeanour is amazing. The world needs more Albert's in customer facing roles.

My private hearing aids
I went to the audiology section of Leightons, the opticians, to have ear wax removed as I was not hearing very well. It transpired that I had no ear wax and a test showed that my hearing loss was now severe. I had NHS hearing aids and my three yearly hearing test was at least two years late plus my earmoulds were uncomfortable. Sheena Ruparelia, the highly qualified audiologist asked if I had considered private aids and suggested I went away and think about it. After some thought and discussion with my wife I decided to go with private aids. Sheena was very understanding and sympathetic to my loss and very thorough setting up aids and moulds to suit my needs. After two weeks I was fitted with my new hearing aids and the effect was beyond my expectations. I could hear wood pigeons from across the road when hanging out the washing, hear other sections of my choir singing, hold conversations with my wife without asking to repeat words and hear the TV clearly without using the loop. I now hear all sorts of sounds I hadn't heard before. My lack of hearing for some time has been a cause of stress and my earmoulds a constant source of discomfort and now that is gone. It really has boosted my confidence and I feel a lot happier in myself. These new private (Oticon) hearing aids are brilliant and I cannot speak too highly of Sheena's part in this. Yes they are expensive but I would say worth every penny. and because I belong to the Leighton care plan I received a discount. I will have the support of 6 monthly reviews and free wax. filters. Overall a good move and a great result for me and the audiologist.

Recommending Leightons in Thatcham

Average Ultimate Eye Test Experience
Final eye test done by Janet Smith was thorough, friendly and professional - It gave a lot of confidence on eye test results.
I'm a new customer to Leightons and bit disappointed the front desk staff didn't explain of what to expect for Ultimate eye test process.
Front desk staff informed of preliminary eye check was going to be done, but didn't realise it was Optomap - I would've really preferred to have accompanied my son. Also, I wasn't aware/informed that OCT was done as well until end.
Ultimate Eye test was the main reason this private appointment.
