As at 5 August 2026, LettingSupermarket.com continues to hold both our funds and client funds totalling over £17,000 (seventeen thousand pounds) without consent which places them in clear breach of their obligations. They have chosen to ignore our calls and emails and have not had the courtesy to contact us regarding the release of these funds.

As at 27 July 2026 payment has not been received!

Our experience with LettingSupermarket is not a historic issue—it is ongoing. We and one of our client are currently experiencing the same problems reported by other reviewers on Trustpilot, with many thousands of pounds still outstanding.

We introduced LettingSupermarket to our client (property owner) to manage their rental properties. More than 14 months... later, one of our clients is still waiting for rental income collected on their behalf. Throughout this period, we have repeatedly been given excuses about payment system issues, yet the funds remain unpaid.

Our client terminated their agreement with LettingSupermarket and the notice period has long expired. Despite repeated requests, rental funds have still not been released to the landlord.

In addition, our own management commission from working with LettingSupermarket has been outstanding for over 12 months and remains unpaid despite repeated emails and phone calls to release funds owed to us.

To our knowledge, one of our client's former tenants, who vacated the property more than three months ago, is also still waiting for the return of their tenancy deposit also.

Our experience with Letting Supermarket has been one of constantly chasing them with emails and phone calls, only to receive fabricated stories which makes no sense as to why payments have still not been made, or sometimes no response at all resulting in ignored emails and unreturned phone calls. The situation remains unresolved.

Given the seriousness of the matter and the significant sums involved, we have reported our concerns to the Property Ombudsman and are pursuing legal action to recover the outstanding funds and compensation for outright negligence.

I very rarely leave negative reviews, but the scale of these ongoing issues and the amount of money involved leave us with no choice but to warn others. If you are a landlord, agent, or tenant, take caution and AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!

STAY AWAY!!! Absolute thieves of a company! They put your deposit in an 'insured' scheme but then refuse to answer your calls and emails about releasing the deposit even though the landlord has given the all clear. They make it so difficult to get your money back as you have to go through a very long winded process to get your own money back. They purposely make it difficult to try to keep your money. Landlords probably have no idea this is going on.

The service I have had has been great. They are a reliable and friendly team and have always received excellent advice.

Whilst I can see other people’s review, there were a few delays but I was advised they were resolving some issues with there system and it would shortly be back on track and everything is now working well.

Have been with them for a few years now and it's always the same poor standards. They look after one of my properties and every month is the same where I'm having to waste my time chasing them for my rent as they appear to deliberately hold on to your money for as long as possible while making up a load of excuses. This is unacceptable and they need to be reported to the Property Ombudsman.

My experience has been below standard lately. Chasing them for my rental payment, they do not follow up with requests to the tenant until I remind them. it is a nightmare it is like I am paying them to stress me.

I currently use this company to manage three rental properties on my behalf and also pay for their management service and rent guarantee insurance.

From an operational perspective, I have no criticism of the day-to-day management. Andrew and James, who I deal with directly, have been helpful and professional in their roles.

As a landlord, my reason for appointing a managing agent is to maintain a professional distance from tenants and to ensure that the ongoing running of my properties remains as passive as possible. On this front, the service should function reliably without the need for constant landlord intervention.

Unfortunately, where the company falls short is within its accounts and landlord payment processes.

On a recurring basis, rental payments owed to me have been paid late, in some cases by up to two weeks. Each month I find myself having to chase payments, and on several occasions I am confident that had I not done so, the funds would not have been released at all.

I have repeatedly been advised that these delays are the result of oversights or software issues. However, this situation has persisted for at least four consecutive months, and similar issues have occurred previously, accompanied by the same explanations.

This is disappointing, as if the payment process were reliable, my experience would otherwise warrant a five-star review. Instead, the lack of consistency means the service cannot be considered truly passive. As a landlord with mortgage commitments, late rental payments place unnecessary financial pressure on me, requiring the use of personal funds to cover shortfalls caused by delayed remittances.

Most recently, I was assured in writing that outstanding funds would be credited to my account by 15 December. As of 23 December, the date of writing this review, the payment has still not been received, even though the tenant paid on time.

Despite emailing and calling the company, I have received no response beyond an automated message stating that staff return on 6 January. While the offices remain open, my attempts to obtain clarity or payment have gone unanswered.

For these reasons, while the property management itself may suit some landlords, I would urge caution to anyone for whom cashflow reliability is critical. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company to landlords operating with tight margins or who rely on prompt rental payments to meet financial commitments, although

I’ve been using LettingSupermarket.com for over three years, and they’ve completely taken the stress out of being a landlord. The tenant-finding process is quick, rent payments are always on time, and any issues are handled promptly. A highly professional and dependable service.

We were only landlords for a short period with Lettingsupermarket but their knowledge and service was second to none, would highly recommend them as they provided first class service.

SCAM WARNING! I received an email from 2 staff members, both confirming a viewing for 11am. Me and my wife went there. We waited and waited. I sent emails (no mobile number was provided) asking where was the agent. No one came so we left. We have seen 10 flats at least and only this company completely failed to do their jobs and provide the service they advertised. Time wasters.

Viewed a flat in Birmingham on 14th in the evening. Applied for it and got accepted within 2 days. Done my referencing and move in on 31st. So happy and excited. Amy & Andy were great with me. 5 star service all the way.

I wouldn't even give the a 1 star ! As of writing this we have been unsuccessful in getting our deposit back from this awful company. My partner was dismissed, lied to by multiple people. It had been 30 day since we left the place where illegally they are meant to have transfered the money in which they have failed to do so . This wasn't a landlord issue as he had said the place was in great condition. When we was told about the deposit transferring back to us it was said it's usually 5- 7 day and max ...10 days . Well it's been47 days in total and yet still no transfer to be made.

I don't usually get involved and my partner deals with issues but I guess being a female they didn't want to listen to her and lie continually about the money.

I'm not getting involved over something that should be done instantly without issues.

I'm struggling to understand the reason behind their behaviour .

While I'm here on a separate issue letrimg supermarket was used by our landlord, theu came to the property where we showed them serious issues with mould that was affecting our health and other ongoing issues, within a year later of going out seeing the issues they didn't do a single thing. They even said they couldn't find any records of our conversations... lucky that was found and now this is where we are now .

Avoid this company that's dishonest anywhere you turn .

I’ve been a tenant for 6 years and lettingsupermarket have always attended to my questions and maintenance issues very efficiently. James in maintenance has always been nothing but charming and always does his best to ensure jobs are resolved quickly.

I hired Letting Supermarket back in September 2023 to find a tenant for my property. The service I have received from them has been abysmal. It started off with sending two people round the take photos and a video of the property. They actually didn’t take any photos, in the end I had to take them and send them over.

They then signed my tenant up to a 12 month contract without me knowing and when I did finally realise they gaslit me into telling me they phoned me and informed me of this. The call they were referring to was me contacting them - funnily enough it wasn’t recorded.

They then informed my tenant that he could refuse viewings as I have listed the property for sale. They have caused nothing but problems!

STAY CLEAR!

Booked a viewing, got the confirmation message as well but nobody showed up at the property. I contacted the office they said they'll get back to me as soon as possible. I'm still waiting. Emailed, messaged, still no response.

Lettingsupemarket have been great managing properties, very quick turn over changing tenants no hanging about they have the staff and systems in place that work well.
Very happy customer.

They handled an extremely difficult tenant with professionalism, patience and sensitivity and managed to effect an outcome that avoided court proceedings to regain possession of our property. I am very impressed.

Unlike so many agents, particularly those online only, our experience felt very personal (so lacking in 90% of businesses these days). Andrew the director we dealt with, was most helpful, way beyond the call of duty.
