I was concerned about making this booking before leaving the UK as am sceptical about on-line reviews (you never really know who has written them).
I need not have worried. The service and support provided by Lily Sun was fantastic on this customised 5 day tour. The guides/drivers all arrived as scheduled, the transportation was very comfortable, the guides English was great and local knowledge outstanding ... nothing was too much trouble for them.
I would be happy to recommend Lily Sun to anyone travelling to China.

I don't remember the last time I wrote a review on here, but I just had to for this.

This was my first ever solo International trip. Couldn't think of a better way to learn about Xi'an than eating like the locals. So I did my research, read all the reviews and finally picked Lily's Private Tours.

Even before I left for China, Lily sent multiple confirmation emails. So I always knew who was picking me up from my hotel, what time and what to expect. That alone for a single traveler put me at such an ease.

On the day of the tour,Lily picked me up from my hotel as scheduled, even earlier than expected. Our tour wasnt strictly food based, we walked around and she told me all the history about the different sites and even took pictures for me. The best thing I enjoyed about this tour was that it didn't feel like one. It felt more like you were having dinner with one of your close friends. Lily's personality is really the selling point of the tour, she put me at ease. Oh and the food! There was so much food. I feel like I tried a little bit of everything and I must tell you come to this tour with an appetite. My favorite dish would be a toss up between the noodles and the dumplings with soup in them ( I can't seem to remember the name of the dishes now).

When Lily brought me back to my hotel, I felt like I just did a 2 day tour with all the information she gave me. I ended up staying 3 days in Xi'an. I did a tour on each day with different tour guides and let me tell you Lily was the best one! The only regret I have is not booking with Lily for all my tours. I won't make that same mistake again!

Even after I left Xi'an, Lily kept in contact with me to see if I was enjoying the rest of my stay.

As a solo female traveler living in China but from the USA. This was such a great tour. From working with Lily customizing my trip due to the limited 2-day timeframe I wanted to maximize my time in Xian. I was picked up from the railway station, to and from the hotel, and back to the railway station. Not only was my 2 days maximized but they literally started right after getting off the railway station. This trip was jam-packed with nearly all the highlights of Xian. Micheal was GREAT!! He is very knowledgable about the tours and speaks very good English and has a great personality! The food tour was amazing and even got to see some other things off the beaten path you wouldn't get to see in big bus tours. The dynasty show was very beautiful from the costumes, performance, etc. The only downfall was the food at the dynasty show. It fell short from what its all hyped up to be. I wasn't too impressed with it, but again the show made up for it. The driver was great as well as he waited patiently in the heat as we went around everywhere. This is a great team and so worth the extra money. I will definitely use Lily's Tours again. Thanks again everyone XieXie

Cathy was our guide and she was AMAZING!
If you are in Xi’an even for 1 day I would highly recommend this tour. We got to see everything we wanted and more. Cathy was very patient and took pictures and answered ALL of our questions. The food she picked for us was all very good. Also due to weather she recommended we change the schedule a little bit and they were very flexible with us as well. The trip to the terra-cotta soldiers was awesome some of the best pics due to the location Cathy recommended. Overall super helpful, knowledgeable and knows where and what to do to not waste any of your time. This tour was one of the best we did while in China.

Lily is an excellent guide. She helped me design a great custom tour to see all the sights in Xi'an.

Lily seamlessly picked me up from the airport and then we went straight to a delicious authentic lunch before seeing the Terracotta Warriors. She was very knowledgeable about their history and happy to share lots of interesting information.

From there, we went to the city wall and Muslim Quarter. She was even willing to make an extra unplanned stop for me because she noticed I was interested in trying all the interesting foods at the market.

Overall, it was a great day and I would definitely recommend Lily for a tour of Xi'an.

Our family had an awesome holidays in Xi'an. All thanks to Lily who planned our tour prior to our depature. Communication through emails with Lily was efficient. On the other hand, we were so lucky to have Michael Chang as our tour guide. He spoke good English and is extremely knowlegeable. Michael took care of everything for us during our 3 days tour at Xian. He is kind, thoughtful and patient. Our family had such a memorable trip in Xian. We will certainly recommend Lily and Michael to all our friends and relatives who wish to visit Xi'an in future.
