This is a scam! If there was an option for no stars or negative stars, I’d give that to them. I ordered a cake from this fraudulent company/person. They delivered a store bought cake instead!!!! When I wrote to them, 3 times today, with pictures of what was delivered versus what was ordered, I got zero acknowledgments. I finally got an email that said, “Nice try!”
This “company” is a fraud and 100% SCAM!!!!! 😡😡😡😡😡

Do NOT order from this company. My husband ordered the “Everything Chocolate Cake” bundle for me on May 21, 2025 (Order #MMG12549), and what we received was nothing short of a scam.

Instead of a premium 8” cake like the one shown online, I got a 7” Oreo cake straight from Safeway’s bakery section, tossed in a cheap paper box. This exact cake sells for $12.99 at the store — yet we were charged $58.87 for it through this site. That’s not a “slight variation” from the photo — that’s flat-out false advertising.

To make it worse, the cake topper we paid for was missing, and the “free” gift wrap and card listed in the order summary were also nowhere to be found.

Despite sending multiple emails with solid proof, this company had the audacity to ask me for a receipt. The kicker? They never included one to begin with!

After doing more digging, I found other reviews where customers had similar experiences — being charged outrageous prices for cakes bought from grocery stores like Safeway or Shoppers. Apparently, this is a pattern. They seem to be knowingly ripping people off, betting on the fact that most won’t notice or fight back.

I’ve asked for a refund of the $47.34 difference between the luxury price we paid and the cheap Oreo cake (which includes the missing topper we paid for), and if I don’t receive it, I’m fully prepared to take this to small claims court. People deserve to know the truth about how this business operates — unprofessionally and unethically.

Bottom line: this company is a scam. Save your money and buy the same exact cake for a fraction of the price directly from the store or take your business to a trustworthy gift company with positive reviews.

Warning: Fraudulent Company – Do Not Trust

I am deeply disappointed and outraged by my recent experience with this company. What they advertise and what they deliver are completely different — and I believe this is a coordinated scam.

I ordered what was supposed to be a high-quality $85 dark chocolate cake for my mother’s 85th birthday. After taxes, shipping, and tip, I paid a total of $100 expecting something special and worthy of the occasion. What arrived instead was a cheap, generic $10 cake from a local store — absolutely unacceptable given what I paid for.

To make matters worse, the cake was delivered late at night by an Uber Eats driver, left on the doorstep with no note, no card, and no explanation. When I asked the delivery driver for details, he said he had no information — just that he was instructed to deliver it. It’s clear this is a network of individuals working together to exploit customers and avoid accountability.

There is no way to contact the company. The website offers no customer support, no phone number, and no clear way to get a refund or speak with someone. It’s virtually impossible to reach anyone, and they clearly do not intend to stand by their service.

This entire operation feels like a scam designed to prey on people celebrating special occasions — knowing that once the money is taken, there is nothing you can do.

Avoid this company at all costs. If you’ve already placed an order, I highly recommend filing a complaint with your bank or credit card company to try to recover your money. I will also be reporting them to consumer protection authorities.

No one should be treated like this — especially not when trying to do something meaningful for a loved one.

Cake arrived different from what ordered, payed a total of 160$. Not worth your money at all. The flower boquet that arrived is exactly those you’ll buy at safeway. Very disappointing!! The cake look awful

The cake delivered looks absolutely nothing like the photo. When confronted they shamelessly replied that its still the same flavour cake. Avoid this vendor at all cost!!

Actually no stars. Not only were they rude but threatened to sue me because their delivery person waited 20-30 minutes at a different address than the one I gave them. Even their receipt shows my correct home address and had they followed the instructions, their driver would not have had any wait. I tried to give them a chance to rectify the situation and even explained that good business practice would be to just refund the transaction rather than threatening to sue over a cake. Can't argue with belligerently stupid. I think it is pretty fair to call this a scam.

I wish they had 1/2 stars. my $90 order a birthday gift for my Son. NEVER arrived and they have a mindless bot running their chat. not answering questions. Horrible experience. If you want to throw your money away order from them.

Scam. They delivered a shitty cake from a grocery store or home garage, no packaging. No contact number to complain. Should be prosecuted by consumer protection authorities. Badly made in Canada.

I wish i could rate negative on these scammers. But the option is not there. I oreder a birthday cake online. 1st it was not delivered on time. But i got an email mentioning it was delivered. After millions of email one of their reps replied saying it was delivered and that they have proof too. Somehow they delivered it late but a cheap looking cake. Not the one i paid for. Dont ever buy products from them.

Roses were left outside on my deck with no notice. It was -30 degrees outside. When I found them they were frozen. Delivered on valentine's day in Winnipeg in evening.

Absolutely the WORST customer service experience I’ve ever had. I placed an order with MakeMyGift and not only did they fail to deliver the item I paid extra for, but their response to my refund request was rude, unprofessional, and borderline abusive.
1. No delivery happened, yet they refused to refund me.
2. When I reached out, they responded with disrespectful and condescending emails, telling me to “grow up” instead of addressing their own incompetence.
3. They provided zero proof of delivery, only a vague claim that their driver suffered “pain and suffering” because of my order. Excuse me?
4. When I pointed out their mistake, they deflected and refused to take accountability.

This is not how a business should operate. If you’re considering ordering from them, run the other way. They take your money, fail to deliver, and then gaslight you when you ask for what you paid for. Scam behavior at its finest.

Save your time, money, and sanity—go with a reputable company that actually values its customers. Avoid MakeMyGift at all costs.

If there was an option to give negative rating, I would have done that. Scammers. I ordered flowers for delivery. But, the order never arrived. Makemygift scammers took the payment but delivered nothing and won't respond to customer grievance emails. Dont ever order from them.

If I can rate this company below 1 star its below zero standard. They deliver cake from a grocery store with peeled sticky on it. Plus they dont place the cake in a delivery bag its bare sitting on our porch with attached picture how they deliver. Do not order from this scammy company.

Worst experience sent a cake to friends address and was delivered to the wrong address I complained about it so they agreed to deliver it again and to my surprise driver delivered it to the same address as before and there’s no way of contact to the sales team apart from email no contact number as well never use them again

Terrible products, do not buy from them. Purchased three cakes from them as gift; the cakes were of low quality, with terrible taste, and stale.

My husband received the cake without the greeting card!VERY BAD SERVICE!
