Rushed process, zero clarity provided, lack of prioritisation

Was contacted about a role within my area of expertise for a local company. Initial interview went brilliantly with the manager & HR, with a second interview set for tomorrow.

Unfortunately, I was informed by the HR person that it was a contract position through Manpower, not a PAYE position with the company I was interviewing for. This was not explained to me prior as I do not like working for an intermediary, nor was I given any prioritisation during the interview setting process (had to chase multiple times via e-mail & phone to confirm the interview was going ahead).

Deeply disappointed. I do not like working through an intermediary, preferring direct employment. Had I been informed I would be paid by Manpower instead of the company I would actually be working for, I would not have opted for the interview.

Really should do better and give people your full, prioritised attention with accurate information. Also, not being able to provide a salary range prior to interview is incredibly poor form.

Just too many red flags.

Worthless airheads.

Have attempted to contact numerous times.
Always get the wrong person.
Always told will receive a call back.
No reply at all.
Avoid these air heads!
Just read some others on here.
Seems they are an umbrella company.
In short,you pay for your wages.
Any facing difficulties,should contact ACAS.
They have responded,with their generic reply. 87% 1 star. This says it all. Avoid this worthless company!

Would give zero stars if I could. I have received 3 texts within an hour from them. Each from a different mobile and I am not looking for work or have my c.v out there that I am. I would like to know where they received my mobile number from?!

Management is a joke
Any issues uou are left on your own
Check your Payslips - always something missing a £1 here £2 there
Keep track of your holidays one day you got 2 next day 5 the day after tomorrow only 1
Complains department- what complaints department phone always busy or they ask you to call back tomorrow then ist back to busy same thing in your local branch unreachable on a good day
And God forbids that you don't submit your timesheets on time as you will not get paid this week on as we all know this agency will only double up your hours so you pay an extortion in tax and NI and the best you can get is "oh no we are sorry and we can't to anything about it " sorry but not sorry and sorry won't pay the bils

Not the best experience if i say so

Worst Agency to work for, I have been an agency worker for 2 years, holiday pay is based on a 52-week average (so they base your holiday on a previous years lower minimum wage)

(every holiday day i have taken is below mininum wage) unsure how they can get away with it!

If you have any learning difficulties or eye conditions of any kind that wont allow you to study through traditional learning methods youll be penalised and will not be able to access any type of Benifits, Discounts system like other agencys, Because unless you agree to take on Manpowers own courses its a no

I've been asking for nearly 2 years for audiobooks etc - to just have some representive saying they are looking into it and heard nothing for nearly 2 years, this company is not disablility friendly to say the least!

It is honestly impossible to get through to speak to anyone at this company to help with some issues I have been having. I am convinced nobody even works there... No number to call, and a clearly unmanned support email. I am only using them by force, I would never choose to.

My experience with this company has…

My experience with this company has been extremely disappointing and stressful. They misled me on the phone about when I would get paid and failed to follow through on their promises.
Communication was almost nonexistent, they consistently ignored me, even when I went to their office in person to confront them. Despite being overworked and desperate for answers, no one was willing to see me or address my concerns. This ordeal has left me with ongoing stress, and I wouldn't recommend this agency to anyone.

Cambridge Branch

I had a temporary assignment with Manpower, Cambridge and they were brilliant.
Antonino La Manna was always on hand to answer my questions and when he was on holiday his colleagues were equally as helpful. They have been very supportive throughout.
However, I also have to say that the Ashford branch was dreadful. The lady I spoke with was very dismissive and rude.
I think with this company it depends on the branch you are assigned to. I was fortunate enough to work for Cambridge and they were superb.

Disrespectful and unprofessional

Arguably the worst recruitment agency I have ever had the misfortune to engage with. On two separate occasions and two separate 'recruiters' I have been contacted about an urgent role they are seeking to fill, spent time discussing my skills, experience and suitability only to be completely ghosted twice.
The lack of professionalism is utterly staggering, particularly so as I too work in the Recruitment sector.
I would never deal with Experis or Manpower again. Truly awful experience.

They don’t do any work

Spent a month back and forth son phone everyday for a job they sed was mine but they accepted documents then when I phoned them they sed they would check it and call back when they didn’t call back and I called them they sed there was problems with items or someone left the company or my local branch didn’t sort it. I called after a month and they sed the job was gone and sounded like they didn’t care that I spent a month and money to sort things out and havnt contacted me since waste of time joke of a company

Absolutely dissapointed

Well, the agency pretend to be serious, unfortunately, to experience that the "specialist" from this agency who does not know how to maintain his own device, and not cappable to plug in a simle HDMI cable to his laptop is suppose to decide if you are cappable to work in the factory line? Shame on you! I have whitnessed this on my own. And there has been mamy applicants with me good enough and cappable left out without a response or any feedback! Bear in mind company lives from the wages the people produce for them!

Failed to pay salary on time

Through their subsidiary, Experis, they so far have failed to pay my salary this month. Oh, they brought me onboard because of IR35 so I am an employee. But only when it suits them to take their cut, not when it comes to actually treating me like one. I feel like a victim of a scam - sham employee status. Well, I am an employee under the law so I wonder what HMRC or DWP would think of their behaviour? Don’t touch them, unless you like working for free.

Absolute nightmare of an onboarding…

Absolute nightmare of an onboarding process to start a contract. Their "compliance" procedures are nothing short of ridiculous with terrible communication to boot.

Wasted mine and their clients time by 5 weeks before I cut off any ties with these recruiters. One of the worst experiences in getting a contract I have had in 10 years.

Avoid manpower

Dealt with manpower employee Joanne Bain, to say the overall experience was poor would be an understatement. She seemed to take great pride in pointing out flaws without even a shred of positivity. Overall shocking experience and would avoid at all cost in the future.

Time after time I’ve asked this second rate ignorant company to stop sending me information. Yet they think they are above the law. I’m going to send my report to the ICO office. I want them fined and compensation. Very arrogant company.
