My daughter was struggling with maths at school, her year 11 mocks were grade 3 and she just couldnt get it pushed up no matter what she did at school, I signed her up for the silver tier hoping that it would help, it did, she ended up with a 5 {foundation} which is what she needed for her 6th form choice. It was a clear 5 too, 11 marks over the grade boundary. this was achieved by her determination and the twice weekly webinars she did with Rob. I would thoroughly recommend anyone who is doing foundation maths and struggling to get over a 3 in mocks.

We attended Rob's webinar, and it was a game-changer for my son. Within the first five minutes, he learned an incredible tip about calculator usage that completely transformed his approach to math. He found the session to be the best method for revising math he's ever come across. Rob's teaching style is engaging, clear, and truly impactful. He is very helpful and gives you some great tips and methods for maths skills you may be stuck on. He made me go from a 3 to a 4 in foundation maths with his great tips and tricks. Highly recommend him if you’re looking for a maths tutor.

After my son’s first session with Rob, he called me to say “dad, Rob made things so much easier to understand, I can’t believe it”. He made THAT much difference. I even attended a session and the way he demystifies and breaks down the maths is SO good. I would recommend him 100%

I recommend mathmo as Rob helped me jump from a 5 in my mocks to a 7 in my actual GCSE. I love his techniques to gain quick and easy marks and his calculator hacks. I now really enjoy maths and i’m taking it for a levels.

Rob engages with students really well and makes maths interesting and fun his passion for maths shines through and I’m sure students pick up on this. Topics are broken down and easily explained. Highly recommended for those that don’t like maths much and those that do!

Mathmo was really helpful to me it boosted my grades from 33% to 93%.I used to not be able to do at least 20 mins of work before getting bored of my books and would leave, leaving my lesson half finished. But with robs hacks and tips I could sit past paper for 45-50 mins and finish them in about
an hour with good results. Rob really makes math more enjoyable making sure the lessons are not dragging on but quick, fun and easy to understand. I really recommend.☺️

Well, where to start! ( this could be a long review!)
I only discovered Rob about 4 weeks before my son’s GCSEs started, I only wish I’d found him a year ago if not before!
My son has always struggled with maths ( as I did & still do!) school has generally not helped & by the time he reached secondary he hated the subject and had developed an attitude of ‘ it’s too hard, I just can’t do it’ and gave up with any question that was a little more tricky. He’s had a maths tutor both at primary & secondary, which helped a bit, but he never enjoyed going.
When I managed to persuade him to watch one of Robs free half hour sessions, it was literally like a lightbulb moment for him. He was more engaged than I’ve ever seen him with maths. I would even go as far as to say he was excited by the tricks/ hacks that Rob did. He did another 3 free sessions (willingly) and we were so impressed we paid for the predicted paper & webinar just before his last maths exam.
I asked my son if he thought it had helped & he said “hell yeah!” The most amazing thing was that he answered every question on the paper, which he has never done before!! He had never been told how important showing your working out is and the fabulous advice Rob gives of just looking at the maths and ignoring the words made all the difference.
Obviously we will have to see what his results are, but I truly believe if he passes it will largely be down to Robs sessions.
Sorry this is so long, but unless you have a child who has struggled as much as my son has you don’t know what a relief it is to finally find some one who can really help. He has a unique way of teaching children, it’s very relaxed, funny and appealed to my son in a way nothing else has.
I would tell any parent to try his free sessions first & then pay for others instead of a home tutor. ( we have literally spent thousands on home tutoring and Robs sessions achieved more in a few weeks than any of that) I just wish we’d found him sooner as I think it would have taken a lot of stress off my son & me!

Rob has been absolutely fantastic. My daughter found his sessions not only engaging but also incredibly beneficial for her confidence and approach to maths. Rob offers practical tips that encourage students to just give things a go, which made a real difference for her.

He has a remarkable ability to connect with students—using humour and empathy to create a safe space where it's okay to struggle with the more challenging questions. His supportive and down-to-earth approach transformed my daughter’s mindset, helping her feel far less anxious about her exams.

She never once dreaded a session. In fact, she looked forward to them and genuinely enjoyed Rob’s warm, human approach and sense of humour.

Rob has been excellent in every sense. He is engaging and makes a maths lesson more interesting. My son said he is very good at explaining the techniques well and it is the only time he has enjoyed a maths lesson. Rob understands how the kids are feeling and what they are getting stuck with. I will be signing up my second child too.

I cannot recommend Rob's Mathmo sessions enough! My teen was sceptical before attending as they hadn't found other revision sessions they'd tried helpful but Rob makes the sessions informative and fun so they were soon hooked - in fact Mathmo was my teen's absolute favourite of all the revision work they did. Rob focuses on the techniques you need to get the best result in the exam, while offering plenty of calculator hacks and practical tips and advice along the way. My teen went from leaving whole questions blank, to being able to complete the whole paper and their confidence surged as a result. I would urge you to try Mathmo - it doesn't matter whether you get maths or not, whether you are studying at higher or foundation level, or for which exam board. You can start with the weekly free webinars, but we found the Silver Tier membership so useful, with access to more weekly webinars and a fantastic video vault covering all the topics needed for GCSE. My daughter benefitted hugely from Mathmo sessions in the months leading up to her GCSEs.
Firstly Rob is fun and engaging. He packs A LOT into his time and has a huge passion for his Maths work and knowledge sharing. He works at a good pace but really takes the audience on the journey which worked well as a learning style for my daughter. He doesn't patronise too.
Much of the work is about short cuts and calculator hacks which if someone is struggling with some of the long winded concepts or not quite understood one area, can be a useful way of picking up some extra marks needed, whilst harnessing some of the more useful, long term concepts for Maths.
We shall be seeking out Mathmo for future siblings.

We found Mathmo a month before my daughter retook her GCSEs. I wish we'd had this last year. Rob is an excellent teacher and really helped my daughter with areas where she had previously struggled. The webinars are excellent as are the practice papers. I wish we'd had Mathmo before.

I stumbled upon Mathmo a couple of months ago. Rob is a breath of fresh air when it comes to explaining and breaking down maths. Although maths is not my son’s strongest subject he felt more confident doing his exams. I’ll definitely be back when it’s my daughter’s turn. Thanks Rob!

This is quite literally fabulous, my daughter had lost confidence and her predicted scores were dropping the closer we got to her final exams.
The sessions are great value for money and have empowered her to go in to her exams equipped with some amazing strategies to help cope with her ‘tricky question paralysis’ honestly wished I had discovered sooner and had started in year 10. Age appropriate lessons with precise goals. Really grateful for the invaluable support.

Rob is brilliant. My daughter described him as a lifesaver and is actually quite sad she has now finished her gcse maths and so won’t get to spend time on with Rob! That says alot…… !!
