If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to buy a home from someone with the warmth of a frozen bag of peas, look no further. We pulled out of this deal faster than the sales lady "checked with her manager"—which is to say, instantaneously and with zero actual effort.
The Sales "Game"
The sales representative was delightful, if your idea of delight is being treated like a mild inconvenience by someone who clearly went to the Voldemort School of Customer Service. She gave us the classic "let me check with the higher-ups" routine. Having worked in sales myself, I knew the drill: she didn't call a manager; she likely just went into the back room to stare at a wall and wait for the awkwardness to marinate before returning with a scripted "No."
The "Luxury" Experience
They were pushing for a move-in date just over a month away, which would have been great if the house were actually a complete product and we didn't have to pull more money together to pay for flooring and turf when we had other fees adding up to pay. Apparently, at this establishment, things like flooring and turf are considered "extreme luxury upgrades."
Buying a house here is exactly like buying a brand-new car, only to have the dealer inform you that tires are an optional extra and the steering wheel costs an additional £5,000. I’ve bought new builds before, and usually, "not walking on raw concrete" is included in the base price. I didn't realize I was signing up for an indoor skate park.
The Plot Twist
Here is the real kicker: we actually know the person who reserved the plot after we walked away. Lo and behold, the "unwilling to negotiate" sales lady suddenly found their holiday spirit! The new buyers got the flooring thrown in, the turf included, a wine fridge and—magic of magics—a later move-in date that actually makes sense for a human being and not just to hit millers end of year KPI's / sales targets.
It turns out everything was "negotiable" after all; the sales team just decided we weren't worth the effort. It’s nice to know their "firm policies" have the structural integrity of wet cardboard.
The Verdict
Unless you enjoy being bullied into a quick move-in while paying extra for the privilege of not living in a literal shell, do yourself a favor and keep driving. There are plenty of reputable builders out there who understand that a house should probably come with a floor.
Moral of the story: Shop around, unless you’ve always dreamed of paying half a million pounds to live in a very expensive, very cold bunker.

Tim recently repaired the shower tray in our ensuite and fitted a kitchen cupboard for us. Throughout the process, he was exceptionally professional, ensuring the workspace remained clean and tidy at all times. We were particularly impressed by the respect he showed for our new home; he even removed his shoes without being asked, which we truly appreciated.
His attention to detail was excellent, and he completed the work exactly as planned and strictly on schedule. We are very thankful for Tim’s assistance.

The Customer Services Inspection Manager,Cameron Sharp, visited my property and he carried out a thorough and detailed review. I was listened to and he responded by taking immediate action to resolve a couple of outstanding snags. He went over and above by fixing my door immediately and checking other things I was not quite happy with which I hadn’t reported. His Customer Services skills and knowledge of property maintenance are outstanding.

The Sales staff guided us through the process with clear communication and the site team Kev & Robbie ensured our house was completed to the highest standard. There’s a great deal of care gone into our home and the whole estate, it’s beautiful and we look forward to many happy years here.

We recently bought our new home with Miller Homes at Blakeney Green through their part exchange scheme, and honestly, the whole experience has been brilliant.
From the start, everything moved incredibly quickly we exchanged contracts in just 3.5 weeks, which really helped take the pressure off what is naturally quite a stressful process. The team were organised, responsive, and kept things progressing smoothly the entire time.
A big thank you to Kev and Robbie on the on-site team, Pam in sales, and Lindsey in customer care. Pam was brilliant throughout the purchase, making sure everything stayed on track and keeping us updated. Kev and Robbie have continued to check in with us, which shows how much they genuinely care, and Lindsey has been lovely with aftercare, regularly checking in and making sure everything is as it should be.
Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and their support made a huge difference during what could have been a very stressful time.
Overall, we’ve had a really positive experience and genuinely wouldn’t change a thing. We’d highly recommend Miller Homes to anyone considering a new build.
