MKM Bury. I placed an online order on Sunday 19th. I phoned Tuesday 21st to chase it up. Not in stock, they will have to order it in. Phoned Saturday 25th April, advised that they have forgotten to order it! I asked them to cancel the order and refund me. They advised it takes 3-5 working days to get my refund to me !!! NOT GOOD ENOUGH
I have been dealing with the Southport branch, which is only a couple of miles away from where I live, for a few years now. They are usually cheaper than the competition and normally deliver the next working day, free of charge, regardless of the value of the order. The quality of the products is excellent. I have an account and usually order on-line. First thing the next morning, I invariably receive a phone call from Paul, to arrange delivery, usually within 24 hours. If you pushed me for a negative, it would be the slightly limited range of products and the opening hours; I am sometimes frustrated at having to resort to paying "over the odds" at B&Q or Wickes.
The Staff at MKM it has to be said, know what Customer Service is, finding what I wanted was made so much easier, by the friendly and helpful Staff at the Huntingdon Road Branch, in fact, the Staff at all three Dumfries Branches are a credit to MKM

Ordered grey slate on the Monday for delivery Thursday. We rang them Wednesday for delivery slot, was told pm.
Waited and waited, rang them at 3.45, said they'd had trouble with their deliveries...so wouldn't get it.
I wonder at what point they would have informed us they weren't delivering??
Requested a refund which we did receive
Time off work for this delivery 😡😡
Poor service
I'm a DIYer and do not have a trade account. I registered on MKM website and placed an order at the Barrow-In-Furness branch for delivery. Easy transaction. Plenty of emails to confirm order and delivery. And top bonus was next day delivery. I've used other local builders merchants previously and with being a DIYer and not a regular customer I've waited over a week for delivery. I will certainly use MKM again.
I had a very poor experience in Chichester branch. I ordered some oak sleepers in September 2025 which were never delivered even though they had been paid for. They said they had problems with their suppliers but their website said they were still available. The price of the sleepers also increased. Originally said they would honour the lower price but, they then changed their mind. I challenged this and they said their director would phone me but I was never phoned back. I had to do all the chasing. After many phone calls, and no call back ever received from them, they decided they would honour the original price after all and that they were working on it and I would be contacted shortly. Of course, they didn’t get back to me and after another phone call, they then said they still had issues with their suppliers. Six months had passed since the original order, and they couldn’t be bothered to update me. They just weren’t interested. They were not true to their word and I finally lost all trust in them and got a refund, whilst for six months my money could well have been earning them interest their the MKM bank account throughout.
Another great purchase from this company. Helpful friendly people and great service again. Highly recommended 👌
These guys charged me for a boiler which they didn't have in stock. While they called me to apologise, and promised me a refund, it's a month ago and I have received no refund.
Hired a Dragon Concrete Crusher from the North Walsham depot this weekend, fantastic piece of kit recycled concrete waste into useable crush materials. Great advice from the branch, the driver demonstrated the product, including key safety features, no question was too much!
Equipment was low hours and in excellent condition, not the cheapest tool to hire but overall saved money by recycling waste into usable materials that would have cost more to remove and then buy in from merchant.
Well done MKM and staff at North Walsham hire desk.
They are quite good with supplies and pricing . But countless times stop them from sending advertising text but they don’t stop. Beware before you give them your information. Once they have your number in their system then you can’t stop them
Two orders in a row and both were unreal. First time I ordered at 11 and it was delivered by 1. Today I called at 11:30 and the new load was on my drive by 12:20. Less than an hour.
