I had a disappointing experience with MKM’s kitchen design and delivery service at Workington. Two different people poorly managed the design process, which led to miscommunication and errors. The wrong wall cupboard door was delivered twice, which caused significant delays and inconvenience.

There were also discrepancies in the design, resulting in several retrofits and necessary changes. Delivery times were much longer than expected, and the project took 34 days for the joiner to almost complete—yet 5% of the work was left unfinished, which I had to complete myself.

Although MKM does not officially recommend joiners, what concerns me most is that MKM staff were aware that the joiner I used had a mediocre reputation and previous complaints from other customers, but they did not warn me or suggest alternative options. The joiner's workmanship was poor; even basic tasks such as cutting the MDF panel straight were poorly done. I agree that selecting a mediocre joiner is on me, but it was frustrating that you knew the joiner's background and didn't warn me.

Overall, my experience was frustrating and disappointing. I would advise others to be cautious and ensure clear communication and transparency—especially regarding final design before ordering—if considering MKM (Workington) for kitchen projects.

Asked for a quote for a complete bathroom refurbishment, a week later still haven't heard from them. Very disappointing.

This donation has been instrumental in enabling our group, Friends of High Park Green Spaces 2024, to successfully complete two projects within one of the parks under our care. We also deeply appreciate the complimentary delivery service. The team at MKM consistently demonstrates professionalism, friendliness, and kindness.

What a fabulous experience meeting Charlotte, who was extremely helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable about the Symphony kitchen range. Even though we were only enquiring about purchasing a couple of cupboards nothing was too much trouble, we received a quote within the hour and would like to thank Charlotte for her super customer service and the time she spent with us.

I gave this company the chance to fix an issue with glass in the topsoil they delivered, making it clear it’s being used in a garden with my toddler and dog.
They collected the bags, said they’d found more glass, and said they would deliver topsoil from a new supplier. The delivery wasn’t communicated properly, and when it did arrive, it was the same contaminated soil with more shards of glass.
A full refund was issued but we’re now having to go through the soil in our garden by hand and are still finding large pieces of glass. This is completely unacceptable.

I have used Mkm Llandudno junction without question for 19 years and never questioned an 2 way respect for and from the business. However not respecting a customers name and failure to do a refund which was 100% due. The senior management who were in the ‘loop’ shirked to contact me to put things right or to explain the happenings. A complete system failure.
There are 2 results here, treat Mkm with the respect they deserve and don’t expect a refund when due.

Waited in all day for the delivery and when it got to 4.30 called them asking where my delivery was only to be told that they had a problem with one of their lorries,yet never bothered calling me to tell me this even when they ask for your phone number when ordering,really disappointed with the customer service,they apologised but that doesn’t really make a difference when you’ve wasted a whole day waiting in for them.

The service provided by the team was brilliant (with a special shout out to Tracy the Driver), I ordered two bulk bags of gravel and cannot find fault. Thank you again xx

Can not fault this company one bit, I ordered in the morning and by the afternoon I had delivery, Jason called me to let me know when the delivery would be and he was very polite, I would definitely order from this company again should I need to .. thanks guys :)

Ordered a large bag of sand from the Bangor branch. It wasn't expensive and the office were quick to inform me of a delivery date, which was only a couple of days later. It arrived promptly. Driver was friendly anf helpful and dropped the bag right where we needed it.

Ordered a shower screen after sending an email enquiry and received a response almost immediately with a delivered price. They weren’t the cheapest option, but they were certainly competitive. Although the shower screen wasn’t in stock with the manufacturer at the time, they advised they could source one by a specific date.

Communication throughout was excellent. Payment was straightforward, and they kept me updated on progress. Then, two weeks before the expected date, I received a call to say the screen was actually available and could be delivered earlier than planned - a really nice surprise.

It’s great service like that which you don’t always see these days. I can’t recommend them highly enough - especially Simon, who handled everything from start to finish. A real credit to the team. Well done.

We recently did a full kitchen refurb, absolutely over the moon. The whole process start to finish was great. Michelle the kitchen designer was friendly yet professional and had some great ideas, our space wasn’t the easiest to work with taking into account what I wanted to fit in and my expectations. I think it’s safe to say, she did it! Can’t thank her enough. The quality of the kitchen was even better than I expected, even the kitchen fitter was impressed. Love love love it!

Used MKM Chelmsford since the day they opened. Over all I’ve had a great relationship with them over the years. But what stands out is being able to message Bear after hours to sort something out. And it is never a problem. Service above and beyond.

Needed a new bath they recommended Kevin he did a brilliant first class job.He’s a grafter and cares about doing a good job wouldn’t go past him.

We ordered building supplies including plasterboard, insulation, and chipboard sheets, and the service from MKM Wigan was absolutely brilliant. Delivery was prompt and completely hassle-free.

The driver was very friendly and took great care to ensure everything was delivered safely and placed properly at the property. Nothing was too much trouble, and I couldn’t thank him enough.

Prices are spot on, delivery is reliable, and the drivers are polite, professional, and genuinely helpful. I can highly recommend MKM and the Wigan depot, excellent service all round.

Yesterday I contacted MKM, Perth and spoke to Claire Bright to get advice on a replacement part for our kitchen taps. Claire researched it for me and emailed me back with all the information I needed as I was unsure what to get. Even although MKM did not sell the part or made any business from my query, Claire still went out of her way to help me and went above and beyond what I expected. This was very good customer service and an experience that encourages me to go back to them in the future. If you are looking for a kitchen or even parts then MKM is worth visiting for good customer experience.

Treated T&G matchboard - don’t bother! Ordered lengths of their 19x125 treated matchboard for an outside structure. Only part of the quantity was delivered before Christmas and this was of a good quality. The remainder of the order that was delivered after Christmas and is nothing short of diabolical - whoever MKM sourced this from has no idea of quality control. All the lengths were soaking, the finish was rough and the face of the boards looked awful. In addition the dimensions varied signifcantly from the first batch I received - yes i appreciate it is wood and wood expands and contracts but the same vertical volume of boards has given me a 60mm difference and it looks awful (I had no options but to install as I need to make the structure watertite). Add on top of this all boards were either concave or convex to a degree that some split when trying to get them to lock together and sit flush and all I can say is look elsewhere for this product if you want a reasonable quality.

Hired a digger and a dumper from MKM Blackpool. Great bits of kit and did the job nicely. Drop off and pick up were done around my requirements which freed up space on site. Lads at the shop always super helpful with any thing and the delivery team are obliging too. Great relationship with this firm.

Absolutely awful company, the woman we dealt with was incredibly unhelpful and has no interest in supporting their customers to get a good end result. I would strongly advise avoiding this company and choosing an alternative.
