These guys couldn’t make it more difficult to cancel - I’ve sent an email, Mob. I would encourage nobody to sign up for the free trial, it’s pretty impossible to cancel!

Didn’t realise I had subscribed for 1…

Didn’t realise I had subscribed for 1 yr until I saw payment come off my credit card. I emailed straight away to say i did not want the subscription. I asked for a refund. Got the old ‘nothing we can do about it’ reply.
Not sure why they have a request a refund button if there is nothing they can do about it. DONT BOTHER!

The app for cooking with instruction…

The app for cooking with instruction are pretty good but the subscription can be annoying without any notification when it's due to pay. I'd perfer to be aware of so I can decided whether to contuine subscribing or not.

So I did have one dilemma I had several tuna recipes on here for the protein smashes and it didn’t actual generate enough of the quantity I needed for tuna at the grocery store. I have to go back to there store to get the proper amount of tuna so if you can improve this little glitch it will help other people so we’re not making multiple trips to the store….i found the app really helpful overall

Charged me without warning, then sent a copy-paste non-apology

I’ll keep this brief because frankly I’ve already wasted enough time on this app.
Mob took an annual subscription fee from my account with zero advance notice that my trial was ending. No email. No reminder. Nothing. Just a charge.

But fine. I decided to give the app a real chance anyway, because I’m reasonable like that.
The recipes default to oz. I set the units to metric. Multiple times. It kept defaulting back to oz. I do not own a set of scales calibrated in ounces. I do not want to convert ounces.
The “high protein” recipes are not high in protein. I can generate better, more nutritionally balanced recipes with accurate metric measurements using tools that cost me nothing. So what exactly am I paying for?
When I contacted support to request a refund politely, I might add they copy-pasted their terms and conditions at me and called it a day. Apparently “we told you at checkout” is considered customer service now.
The concept is fine. The execution is not. And the customer service response was, in the most technical sense, words arranged in an order.
Do not recommend.

Really love the variety of recipes

Really love the variety of recipes. The app is easy to follow and love the convenience it provides when it comes to planning out the weekly meals and food shop. Shame that the ‘mark as cooked’ has been removed or am I missing something!

There was no reminder about free trial…

There was no reminder about free trial ending and within 10mins of being charged I contacted customer services to explain the situation and didn’t want to continue with the service. There is no leeway, even when it can be seen you haven’t accessed the account.
I won’t use it but I have a year subscription now.

As per our terms, we are only able to provide a refund of your annual payment if you have not accessed or downloaded Mob content since your renewal and you request this within 14 days of the payment being made. This is in compliance with UK consumer law and in order to be fair to all of our customers, we are not able to make exceptions on a case by case basis.

We inform all of our customers at the point of purchase that they are entering into a subscription service that renews at the end of the trial period. As per current UK consumer law, this information is sufficient and we are not required to send additional reminders at the point of renewal.

This is such a great app

This is such a great app. We use this weekly to plan meals and a weekly online shop.

We pay the annual subscription which is what we would pay for a cook book anyway. I actually find this easier to follow than most cook books as each step feels more efficient.

Everything we have tried has been well planned and delicious.

Forgot to cancel within the trial…

Forgot to cancel within the trial period by 1 day, there is no flexibility with mobs customer service so I now have a year subscription for a service I won’t use

I tried to cancel my Mob subscription…

I tried to cancel my Mob subscription before my trial ended, but the cancel button was not working when accessed on my phone through the web browser. It feels like they've done this intentionally to make cancelling harder. I meant to go to the web browser on my laptop later, but forgot. As soon as I saw the charge come through for premium, I tried to cancel again - and again, it didn't work on my phone browser.

I requested a refund through their chat function, which was denied.

Don't get this unless you really know you want it because cancelling is not as easy as it appears to be.

I canceled because I don't like the UI. It doesn't seem like the recipes are written down anywhere and they're only on video.

I'll remove this if I get a refund, which I am asking for because the UI issue prevented me from cancelling when I wanted to.

Underhanded Subscription Trial

Wish I had seen other reviews!
Signed up for the free trial, and went to cancel int he app and the messaging suggested I needed to go and find out where I had subscribed. Not having the ability to cancel from any platform trying to make it more difficult for those to cancel feels very deliberately underhanded.

Reached out for a refund immediately and denied based on the terms, that clearly many others have fallen for. Not addressing this and making cancellation easier based on feedback shows continued deliberate attempts at taking advantage of those trialling the product.

Breaching consumer law.

Breaching consumer law in relation to refunds and cooling off periods. They charge for a year up front. Very predatory advertising and behaviour. They know exactly what they are doing. The recipe we not good probably written by ai as most don’t track with cooking food. A whole head of broccoli grated in a pan till it burns 8min.

Signed up for the app via the free 14…

Signed up for the app via the free 14 day trial on 16/4/26 and didn’t find the app particularly helpful or inspiring at all as all the recipes are pretty similar for the filters I used so I cancelled my subscription via Apple 7 days later on 23/4/26 and subscription ended 30/4/26 so I was extremely surprised shocked and disappointed to find that money had been taken out by Mob 7 days after I cancelled. I reached out to them as soon as this money was taken and I’m still waiting for my refund. They are asking for screenshots of when I cancelled on Apple it doesn’t show this only when the subscription expires. I’ve been going around in circles with no resolution it’s causing me stress and frustration and I’m terrified that even more money will be taken out of my bank as the months role on so I’ve filed a dispute with resolver and Apple. Beware when signing into this app.

Mediocre recipes and poor customer experience

The app is terrible to use and the recipes are nothing different to those you can find on any website. They also choose to not inform users when they are going to take more money from your card in an underhanded way to ensure busy people don't have a chance to cancel this terrible app. Customer service is also exceptionally unhelpful. I would definitely not recommend. There are much better recipe apps out there!

I love this MOB app

I love this MOB app! I've been following them on Instagram for ages, and I even have one of their recipe books. I used to use their recipes on the app all the time, but then they made it so you had to subscribe, so I kind of lost touch for a bit. But I missed their amazing recipes so much that I decided to just go for it and subscribe! I'm so happy to be back in the fold because I've used their app so many times already. I love being able to put in what I have in my fridge or pantry and get a recipe I never would've thought of! No more wasted broccoli or tomatoes for me!🥦🍅
